You are still missing my point. I am not saying that he sojourned in the land of the Philistines in all of his days on the earth. That would be a dumb thing to claim, frankly. No, I'm saying that when it talks about him sojourning there for many days it's referring to all of the days he sojourned there rather than just some of the days he sojourned there. Do you understand what I'm saying now?
All of the days Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines were many. Even though many can be translated multitude of days, abundant days, plenteous days, etc. the Hebrew word
rab, is not translated as 'all'.
Daniel's prophesy is what shall come to "thy people" in the latter days. Who are Daniel's people? They are Israel of faith, Israel of God (Ga 6:16). Are the 'latter days' limited to the days of Daniel? No. The latter days according to Peter began at Pentecost when the Spirit was poured out upon all (meaning without distinction, not without exception) people. (Acts 2:14-21) Peter writes the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was fulfillment of the Prophet Joel of what shall come to pass in the last days. Notice, not the last
day, but the last
days. That's because the prophets write that many things shall come in this time written as the Day of the Lord that would come. Not everything written from old about this time/age/era would come to pass in one day but that time that finally commenced with the coming of the Messiah would be made known through the sign gift that came when men from different tongues and nations began to speak in languages they did not know. Daniel's prophesy should be examined from the beginning.
Daniel 10:14 (KJV) Now
I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision
is for
many days.
Daniel 10:21 (KJV) But
I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
Daniel 12:1 (KJV) And
at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and
there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and
at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Daniel 12:2-4 (KJV) And
many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and
some to shame and everlasting contempt. And
they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. But thou,
O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Understand that Daniel's prophesy began to be fulfilled at the birth of Christ, when Michael stood up for "thy people" (Rev 12:) and there shall be a time of trouble as never seen before. A time when "thy people" shall be delivered, every one found written in the book. Daniel writes that his people of faith, who had died waiting for fulfillment of the promise came for those who had died waiting for Him to come. Like Christ, they too were awakened out of sleep and through their spirit ascended to heaven after Christ was resurrected from the grave. When He died, the body of Christ went into the tomb, but His spirit returned to the Father. (Lu 23:46) According to Solomon that is where every human spirit goes when the body died.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 (KJV) Then shall
the dust return to the earth as it was: and
the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
The spiritual bodies of saints coming out of the graves was not seen or recorded by anyone throughout the Bible. But there are a multitude of the heavenly hosts that witnessed them going into the holy city, heavenly Jerusalem, a city whose builder and maker is God. This spiritual resurrection proves fulfillment of the words Christ spoke when He said whosoever lives and believes in Him, though he were dead yet shall he live, and his life shall be eternal.
The some that shall be awakened to shame and contempt will not with the faithful live again, because in death their spirit returned to the Father without eternal life that comes from the Spirit of God in us. They too will be bodily resurrected in these last days Daniel wrote would come, but it will be on the last day of this age, in the final hour coming, when the last trumpet sounds. They will be raised to life to stand before God at the GWTJ and judged according to what is written in the books and since they shall not be found written in the book of life they will be cast into the eternal lake of fire, that is the second death.
One last point, John writes of the hour coming, when there shall be a physical resurrection of ALL who have died on earth. The physical bodies of every human shall be raised to life again to either be reunited with a living eternal spirit, and bodies changed to immortal and incorruptible, OR raised for damnation.
