If we use your athlete/team analogy, what the jersey is put on(athlete) comes First!

Therefore, as the scripture says: "we are saved by faith thru the hearing of the Word" AFTER that, the water baptism occurs.
And just what is the purpose according to scripture is the water baptism for what is its purpose?

No you have not, You have shown me your opinion

Acts 2 does not say what you think it says, this has been explained to you

Yes,

and it is done by the baptism of the spirit upon the time the person repents and recieved the spirit..

they get water baptized AFTER they do this

Then we are saved by works, and not by Grace.

Sorry my friend.. Trying to replace the act of God with the act of men in laymens terms is blasphemy.
It is not me that is taking the glory of Gods work in the baptism in Christ name and assigning it to man that would be you

Truly water baptism has a purpose and that purpose is by God's Design for an outward visual that declares an inward spiritual.

If we study scripture beginning in Genesis, the act of water baptism becomes apparent.

No

Your taking the glory from the work of God and giving it to the work of man.

I was baptized by the baptism made without hands.

You got wet..

once of is is redeemed, I fear the other is not

why was Jesus baptized? and what happened
Matthew 3:15 But Jesus answering said to him, "Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he *permitted Him.
Jesus came to live as a man and in doing he was doing what is required of to please God he was our example even though he need not to be baptized he did because it was a requirement fro man,

What happened Matthew 3:16,17 answers it
16 After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, 17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased."

God declared to the world that Jesus was his son

Please show me the scriptures that say its purpose was just for an outward visual that declares an inward spiritual. I have not seen the scripture stating this fact. I find many more scriptures that define it differently.

It is found in the Gospel, Acts, 1 Corinthians and Romans

Interstingly, we cannot find 'water baptism' ever mentioned in Revelation = very interesting and silently declarative

i have to go now - Peace

We can see the same in John

32 And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. 33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of Go

Notice what we also see.

That he will baptize with the spirit.

That is what happened in John 6. Not water baptism..

Prove to me that it is?.....

I have given you scripture, which you have dismissed...why aren’t you answering my questions, I’ve answered yours?
A Born Again in not birthed in water, they are birthed in the Spirit?

Which means what exactly?

Flesh gives birth to flesh, means;g?

Spirit gives birth to spirit, meaning?
I have shown you where according to scripture that you are missing the point of Acts 2 and Romans 6 where the bible shows that it is in the baptism in the name of Jesus Christ that one is born again

Flesh gives birth to flesh meaning that mans ways can not save you must be born of water and of spirit point to Acts 2 where this discussion became reality

Do you agree that in Matthew Mark Luke and John they were all pointing to the fulfillment of Christ going to the cross and from Acts 2 forward is where Christ completed his task given his by God in Acts 2 is where Peter opened the doors for the first time and preached how one is to be born again of water and spirit what did he say ? Acts 2 :38 why would that be considered born of water and spirit Paul tell you in Romans 6 how God is changing you from dead in sin where you are buried with Christ in the water and you are raised again just as Christ to a new life born of water and of the spirit.God did this for you in the baptism in Christ =name that he used to do this transforming work God is at work not man.

I would like you to give book chapter and verse please and does the fact that it is not mentioned in Revelation discredit the places it is mentioned really does it have to be mentioned over and over is one time not enough it means God did not mean to say it if not over and over

You haven’t shown me a thing, that makes sense, so it’s best I move on from you, thanks.

Also you do know that the full completed gospel is first preached in Acts 2 where Peter used the keys given him by Jesus to open the doors to the church for the first time correct and from that time the complete gospel of Jesus death burial and resurrection was preached in completeness

In the gospels of Matthew Luke Mark and John was still pointing to the kingdom to come which did in Acts 2 right?
You do know that Jesus did baptize with the spirit when baptizing in his name don't you.
You do realize that in John 6 Jesus is preparing them for his death burial and resurrection the complete gospel which at this point in not fully revealed right? he told them "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

You also realize that he is talking about giving the indwelling spirit of which the Apostle are not aware of and if you follow your bible it records that in Acts two this did happen in the baptism in his name right?

Please explain the Spirit that quickeneth?...is that biblical, the way you spelt it?

What is the flesh?

God has already shown me the truth of his word.

When he birthed me in the Spirit.

You aren’t the Holy Spirit and of course “ You could not show me the truth of God’s word”....you speak in the flesh,imo/ belief.

I’m also a female...LOL.

You also don’t know how God births his children in the Spirit....which obviously you aren’t aware of that.

I may see the glory of baptism by you..you can’t preach that?...are you telling me you saw God birth you in the Spirit?

It means the spirit gives life as seen in Romans 6
Flesh is just a word usually meaning the sinful part of man

If i am wrong please show me for I am still a work in progress

All I am saying is your heart is closed to the subject of baptism your flesh has determined that you know and no longer need to study the subject may you have peace in your beliefs.
