He is basically doing the same deception as at the beginning, saying that he is giving what God says and twisting it...

Exactly. And this is how he has taken his seat in the Temple of God and is claiming to be God now.
This is the equivalent to Daniel saying that he would rise up to the PLACE of His Sanctuary. God's Sanctuary, the Temple of God is the True Tent in Heaven. That is the place where what God said to do originated from. When Satan sought to undermine all of God's Righteous Rules, from legalized abortions and same sex marriages, to seemingly simple things like pornography and widespread tattoos, he has taken Moses' Seat in the Temple of God.
I'm saying this is happening now, and has been happening for some time.
Paul was drawing from Isaiah 14, Daniel 8 and Matthew 23. Paul's "man of sin" is Isaiah 14's description of Satan himself.
"They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; - Isaiah 14:16
Isaiah calls Lucifer, (Satan), a man. Daniel called Gabriel a "man' in Chapter 9. The end time Antichrist is not a human man taken over by Satan, the end time Antichrist IS Satan. The specifications and evil achievements accomplished by the Antichrist over a long span of time, because of the signs he is given the power to do, could never be achieved by a human man. Like how the Son of Perdition entered into Judas, I'm sure he's been doing this with many world leaders on a daily basis for some time now. Not just Obama. Lol.
The man of sin will take his seat in the temple of God.
"He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
This is not talking about a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. Paul was drawing from Mathew 23.
"so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God
"so that he sets himself up in God's temple,
"So he will seat himself in the temple of God,
He will "seat himself".
In Matthew 23, Jesus said:
"The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat"
"The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses"
They have "seated themselves".
The important thing to note here is that the Pharisees "seated themselves". Nobody told them to sit in that seat, they TOOK it. They just walked right in and took the seat and assumed to dictate God's Word without it being Authorized. If they would have recognized Jesus, they should have surrendered the seat to it's rightful Owner, but that's another story. We're trying not to miss the time of OUR Visitation.
So Moses was the teacher of the Law, conduit and communicator of the Word of God. Moses WAS appointed by God, the "seat" was his. God was regularly speaking to Moses and saying tell the children of Israel this or that.
"And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, I am the Lord your God. You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived, and you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, to which I am bringing you. You shall not walk in their statutes. You shall follow my rules and keep my statutes and walk in them. I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore keep my statutes and my rules; if a person does them, he shall live by them: I am the Lord. - Leviticus 18
That is the Temple of God, the Place of His Sanctuary where His Commands originate from. Moses was long gone when Jesus said this so the Scribes and the Pharisees had really just taken over Moses' job or his "seat", which was Moses' place of authority in the Temple of God.
But also remember how Moses was told to build the Temple according to the pattern that he was shown on the mountain. This pattern came from the REAL Temple in Heaven, the place of His Sanctuary. That's the real Temple that Lucifer has figuratively taken his seat in now by influencing the many nations and tongues to pressure their governments into passing the transgressive laws.
Our end time Antichrist, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, has attempted to take over God's job by influencing the shift in morality and the trend in increased lawlessness. "Anti" can also mean "in place of".
God said: "Remember the Sabbath", "You shall not murder", "You shall not commit adultery" and "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination".
Antichrist (Satan) says: You can forget about the Sabbath, legalize pornography, legalize abortion, legalize same sex marriage and be free to have a gender modification.
When the "man" of Sin seeks to change these specific times and these particular types of Laws, he, by default, has magnified himself above all that is called God or is worshipped and has set his own self up in God's "seat" of authority in God's Temple thereby claiming to BE God.
"Worship" comes from the word "proskuneo" and can also mean to "submit to" or "to obey". And he has been at work on this for a long time using various human agents but make no mistake it has been Satan's hand inside the glove.
The falling away, the rebellion, has already came and went and we are here now at the end which has come.
