Amen! Reading a commentary or other book by a man might be no different than reading a post by another person on this forum. Can we not ever listen what someone else has to say? Of course we can. Sometimes we may learn something important by doing that.
We are never too old to learn brother as long as we are not playing fast and loose with Scriptures. I learn a lot from Utley-a Baptist Pastor from Texas and love exegetical and hermeneutical studies.
Love your soul dear brother @amadeus and shalom to you and precious family.

May God help us to rightly cutting straight His word and study, daily.
2Ti 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
2Ti 2:16 But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness.

Act 17:11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness,
examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
Act 17:12 Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men.

I'm really glad to see you are still here Sir. You are my elder in our Lord Jesus Christ, sealed with the Holy Spirit.
Your brother in Christ.
Johann.

Thank you.

Yes, I am still here until God in one way or the other takes me away. In spite of my age and experience there is still much for me to learn... and I may learn some of it here. I am also reading a couple of books besides my Bibles with the same purpose in mind... to learn new things or to correct old ones.

If I may ask-what books are you reading to help you grow in Christ?
We are living in the Age of Enlightenment and boy-it is hard to find solid, exegetical tools or books, especially here in South Africa.

Thank you. I will mark it down on my list. Mostly I like to read the old-fashioned ink and paper books, but I got past that for forums such as this one... so I may get to your recommendation as well.

A very curious verse to post. This is about the playing out in future ...the cosmos under His dominion. That's future and has nothing to do with us. So then you don't have any responsibility for this...which I think you like. :ummm:
Ah, no. It's a kind of principle that applies on a micro level as much as macro. But you need ears to hear and eyes to see it. It's about faith not by sight.

And please consider the 1 Cor. 15 verses on this as well. It says all things HAVE been put under His feet....yet He must reign UNTIL He has put all enemies under His feel. Seems like a contradiction there, hmmm........but not if we UNDERSTAND.

Those verses also say, that when Jesus returns He will turn the kingdom back over to the Father and become subject to Him once again. Is Christ not ruling & reigning now? "He must reign until....." When was all authority in heaven and earth given to Jesus? His rule and reign began then, just like the allegories of Joseph under Pharaoh, and Daniel under Darius....authority and power to rule in the King's name was given to these who were likewise faithful unto death. Jesus is not waiting to receive the kingdom, He has already received it.

LOL Still trying to draw a parallel between yourself and God?! :ummm: What hubris! What arrogance. There's also the very common practice of falsely naming and claiming that is warned against...and that SO MANY do. Read about the church of Laodicea.....the church in the last times.

The fact you ignore that shows you are embodying it before all.
Those verses also say, that when Jesus returns He will turn the kingdom back over to the Father and become subject to Him once again. Is Christ not ruling & reigning now? "He must reign until....."

And we must enter into the higher walk (seemingly impossible) until that walk becomes the norm.

Just like we can enter in NOW to walk as Jesus walked...we don't have to wait for the age to be over...although this is hidden from the world and the modern churches. But the pesky thing for the principalities and powers is that there is a remnant (tiny as it is) that is not overcome with unbelief and/or indoctrinated into the limitations of an afterlife religion....who have real faith that God is pleased with. Those are the ones who are translated into the kingdom realm in Zion. Those are the ones who will rule with Him in the soon coming age to come.

Not surprised at your deflecting and gaslighting, and not staying on point, as per usual. I leave you to the Lord.

The irony. The thread is about the kingdom of God. And you want to be seen as having the same higher ways as God does...but in your flesh. That's the point you want to make. It's about you. It's all about you.

You are not God. That's the point.

Think I will just say this in case anyone is interested to consider.....is the world to come eternal or is it time-limited/temporal? We look for new heavens and new earth....is that referring to something eternal or temporal? A mere 1000 years or eternal?

This is such a good point. Eternity is a very long time, especially when you get near the end.

ok sis no problem....maybe meditate on that scripture and ask the Lord...or maybe it isn't for you at this time....understanding is in spirit and we're all in a different place along the Way. Bless you.
Did pual ever tell the church , well maybe for you all this isnt for you at this time . He or she who hears will hear .
Those who dont wont .
You must remember that many are now under the influence of inclusive love .
I watch folks . and i have seen what some have said . I speak not about you sister but about the many who i have seen
that are already to some degree infected and affected by this other stuff .
But often men and women are quick to forget what others have said .
Many are now infected and affected to some degree with the lie sister . MANY .
How fast folks can forget . I watch and by grace i remember . THEY are amongst us sister
and they are many .

This is such a good point. Eternity is a very long time, especially when you get near the end.
Eternity is A LONG TIME , on this you said rightly .
SO remember that the next time one tries to preach a means to pick up and carry the cross
WITHOUT HAVING TO HAVE BELIEVED FIRST on HE WHO WAS CRUCIFIED ON THAT CROSS .
FOr their destiny , that which cometh at their end , THEY WONT LIKE IT .
No muslim , no atheist , no buddist , no squat can pick up the cross
NOR WILL IT PROFIT them to try and think they can . NO THEY MUST FIRST BELIEVE ON JESUS CHRIST
if not , ITS ALL VAIN DUDE . ITS ALL VAIN and nothing more than a man can save himself By his own abilities
WHICH WILL Damn the entire lot of those who taught such a thing and believed such a thing .
OH YES ETERNITY IS A LONG TIME . BETTER WE PREACH THE DIRE NEED TO FIRST BELEIVE ON JESUS CHRIST
then be helpers to the truth by teaching HIS words and teachings to those who do believe .
BUT unto those who beleive not , A CHRISTLESS CROSS saveth NONE . and ya better get busy learning that
and shunning the inclusive pope pipe dream to hades . cause it aint gonna save squat .

That my friend was THE RIGHT QUESTION . WHICH BOOKS . cause many books i see today
which try and act as though they can present to us a better way to know CHRIST , are actually
books that contradict HIM . THUS , DEADLY DEATH BOOKS is all they are .

I have A BOOK by which we can truly learn of CHRIST , of GOD , OF TRUTH .
I have a BOOK which can and does remind us of what the early church apostels both knew and taught .
THE HOLY BIBLE . and i have THE SPIRIT which can and does guide me into the TRUTH .
as far as men and their books , BEWARE for many teach things that are contrary in parts to THAT HOLY BOOK called the BIBLE .
