how about this guy?

People who understand Eternal Security, will teach against the cult concept that is "OSAS".

See, your "guy" didnt' create "OSAS"... this slogan.
What he is doing is teaching against the CULT teaching, that created OSAS... .as they mean it to be.

So, on a forum like this one.. you have people who believe that Eternal Security, is "License to Sin" and they are the people who subvert Grace, as this cult theology that is OSAS as they created this phrase to mean.

What your "guy" is doing, is teaching how to understand what is wrong with the CULT teaching, that is OSAS.

OSAS, is not a verse in the bible.
Its a cult Phrase that was created not so long ago, that has its foundation as 1 century Jews who taught that Paul was teaching what these same Heretics today call "OSAS" or "license to sin".

In my understanding, OSAS stands for "Once a son, always a son".

Christ once said in John 7:38-39 that when the Holy Spirit is given to a person, it produces rivers of living water coming out of their belly. The water that Christ gives becomes in that person a spring of water, springing up unto eternal life (John 4:14). The Greek used here for a "spring" of living water is "pege", which is different from a well dug by hand (a "phrear"). A man-made well dug by mechanical means (a "phrear") can dry up. A spring ("pege") of living water doesn't.

Once that spring of living water giving eternal life by the Holy Spirit is implanted within a person, it never "dries up" either. One cannot escape it or depart from it, since that internal Source of eternal life is a Source of life that will itself never cease. Believers can and do grieve that Holy Spirit, just like one can throw all kinds of dirt into a spring to muddy the waters. But that spring cannot dry up because the origin of that flow of living water is an unending one.

Is Dan against eternal security? He sure preaches OSAS, and claims it is the word of God.

how about this guy?

He believes OSAS comes from the plain word.

I think we need to be careful when we judge things..

Even if those against eternal security coined the phrase. There are many people who old dear that what OSAS represents is true.
I am a solid believer in OSAS.

If I am unsure of what a person may believe, I generally ask questions to make sure I am not misunderstanding them

I don't, Dan does not. Many I know do not.

So you teach against eternal security?

Yes we do. And instead of attacking OSAS.. let just stick to the word.

Which is what we should do. Not bash OSAS..
I was at a pastor's conference 20 years ago when Bishop Carlton Pearson made the national headlines after being a rising star in the Pentecostal/Charismatic realm. At the conference a pastor asked how they should handle his "heretical theology revelation, which he called Inclusion" (a 'twist' of Universalism). I was very interested in what the main speaker would answer. He said; "Bash the doctrine, don't bash the man." I thought it was a good answer. Takes discipline though.

I do not think we even need to bash the doctrine. Just give your view. if the doctrine is false. it will fall on its face.

When we go around bashing doctrines and people. the world sees us as divisive people.. And satan I believes uses this to keep people away from God

Those who say God may not keep his promised based on what we may or may not do. They mock God..

So you're claiming... we do NOT reap what we sow and if we so to the flesh we do NOT reap corruption ???

God is NOT mocked... whatsoever a man sows, that shall He also reap he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (Galatians 6:7-8)

Your claim is... Galatians 6:7-8 is a lie, and Jesus somehow allowed the devil to put lies in to the Word of God.

Galatians 6:7-8 is a promise of God... so in your view God only keeps the promises that the OSAS people demand that He keeps... then you demand the Lord to ignore the rest of His own Word.

I see how you people are! crazy.gif

They accused Paul of what these same Heretics today have rebranded as "Osas" or "license to sin".
sin_all_you_want2.gif

Not people who believe in OSAS, I have never heard of this.

So you do acknowledge that... you can go live in sin and do all the sinful behavior you want (sowing to the flesh) and still be saved, right?

I've been around a lot of OSAS people over the years and they cannot be trusted as they are immoral people who bust out in to sinful behavior frequently and do other people dirty.

People should not associate with the OSAS peoples in their personal lives because they will get done dirty, it's just a matter of time because OSAS believe they can sin all they want and still be saved..,. they frequently do exactly that! agree.gif

This it in a nutshell..

That's it in an nuthut crazy.gif

One must ignore large portions of God's Word to be OSAS

And, we know who teachers people to do that!
devil_smiley2.gif

OSAS is not a cult

Oh, it's a cult alright. smile-grin12.gif

This phrase, "OSAS" was created by people who reject Eternal Security.
So, its a doctrine that rejects Eternal Life in Christ.

No, salvation is only applicable to those who are abiding IN Christ... when one gets born again, then takes off the new man and puts the old man back on and goes back to doing sinful behavior... they are no longer saved since they turned their backs on the Lord in favor of doing sin.

The OSAS cult claims that one is still saved while they are living like the devil... and they greatly please satan with their false doctrine because it's some to the devil's finest work teaching people they can sin against God and not die spiritually which is exactly how he deceived Adam and Eve. agree.gif

Lol

I am glad you think you can pay for your sins. When you stand in front of God what works are you going to boast of?

As for reaping what we sow. As far as eternity goes if we all reaped what we showed we would all be in hell. Because that what we deserve

In regard to Galatians 6:7-8, the one who is continuously (Greek present tense) sowing to his own corrupt, flesh which is opposed to God and unrenewed by the Holy Spirit shall of the flesh reap corruption (descriptive of unbelievers).

Our life here is sowing of one kind or another. But he who sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
Only believers sow to the Spirit and from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Romans 8:8 - So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Yes,

Thats why when he said you are saved and you will never die

We believe him fully because he is so generous and merciful

Salvation is a free gift all we have to do is accept it. Then past that there are works, good deeds and stuff which earns us rewards in Heaven.

SO maybe you're right and some people may only have a shack on the outskirts of town or something in heaven, but still get to live for eternity in God's presence. (That's the real reward you know!)

Eternal life is what matters

if we do not have eternal life. We will have eternal death,, in other words. We will reap what we deserve.

An old pastor of mine used to say he would wake up every morning thanking God he is not in hell. Because if he got what he deserved that is where he would be.. We all would be

Of course. Life is good. But at some point, all things became new for me and the old man died. I am the righteousness of God in Christ now. I am not a sinner. I am a child of God now. He is with me right now. I feel His presence. I still sin sometimes but I am not a sinner, which is to say, I don't live a life of sin/sinful lifestyle.

My spirit is new and righteous before God. My soul was pretty damaged so it is a process to purify the soul and sanctify us. It's this flesh body that I have to live in that sin dwells in. So when I sin, it is the flesh where sin dwells because the flesh has not yet been made perfect. Once you confess your sins and ask forgiveness then you are forgiven those sins and God don't remember them any more. So why should we identify as sinners? We should not. Like Paul said it is not I who sin but sin in my flesh. But the Lord has done a lot for me! And I can see where all is new for me. I am still changing and for the better in my heart. So I stopped identifying as a sinner. I am the righteousness of God, in Christ. Make sense?

No, salvation is only applicable to those who are abiding IN Christ...
The ability to be identified as being "In Christ" is not due to our human efforts - or lack thereof.

Scripture is quite plain on this in 1 Cor. 1:29-30. "And because OF HIM are ye IN CHRIST JESUS, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption." All the glory is due to the power of God for keeping us "IN CHRIST", so that "no flesh should glory in his presence."

Jesus paid for my sins and caused me to be born again empowered to walk in the Holy Spirit abiding IN Christ.

Too bad you have no idea what being born again is all about disagree.gif

Those that mock God claiming we can walk after the flesh and not reap corruption... get the eternity in hell treatment if they don't REPENT and get right with God and quit mocking Him! agree.gif

Romans 11:22
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness,
IF thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

And... those that have been born again, if they take off the new man and put the old man back on sowing to the flesh... will also reap corruption - God is NOT mocked!

To say that one can walk after the desires of the flesh as a Christian and does not reap corruption (becoming UNrighteous) is mocking God claiming... we do not reap what we sow

The OSAS peoples claim this which is why their believe they have a license to sin which is exactly why so many OSAS peoples are living in sin claiming they are still saved... they be mistaken and are mocking God... just how the devil likes it!

Ah but don't forget how merciful and longsuffering that our Lord is!

He is... ONLY id one repents and turns away from their sin!
When one turns away from the Lord and sins, they must forsake their sin and confess their sin to the Lord in order to be in right standing with the Lord once again according to His Word.

Proverbs 28:13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The ability to be identified as being "In Christ" is not due to our human efforts - or lack thereof.

That's not what Jesus teaches...

John 15:1,2
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

John 15:5

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Maybe your Bible is defective and doesn't have Philippians 4:13 in it...

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
