Did you get the bad weather that was forecast?
Which means icy roads between you and Dad.
I pray for traveling mercies, either way.

/
I'm a little late getting ready to go today. When I woke up this morning (I actually slept last night lol)
It looked real cold but not icy. I'm just giving the sun a chance to warm the roads a bit.
I believe it will be fine.
Thankyou for your prayers..
everyone.

One thing God created for himself and sactified it and made it holy unto him is the seventh day.
Moses wrote Genesis after the law had been given. As I understand it.
The Sabbath points to creation, not the other way around.

You could say the Sabbath points to the creator of creation, that would be Jesus whom God had begotten as his only son.
That was the last day God created all that was created in both heaven and earth.

There is no evening and morning in the seventh day. There is no Night, even though there is Night in the world, there is only Day in the seventh day,
There is no darkness in heaven, omly light.

The contrast between Heaven and earth is between night and day, evening and morning, darkness and light, evil and good.

In Heaven there is no night, no evening, no darkness, no evil.
And God creaed Adam to rule over them.
And to overcome them and subdue them and have dominion over them, and enter into the light, which God called Day.

Wow.
That's a remarkable observation!
Impressive work. Thanks.

Genesis 2:2-3 NIV
By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing;
so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy,
because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Interesting tie-in to Christian mysticism.
Darkness represents the unknown. Like a cloud that obscures knowing.

1 Corinthians 13:12 NIV
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

I don't know about Christian mysticism.
I just say it as I hear it.

Jhn 12:36
While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
Eph 5:8
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
Eph 5:9
(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
Eph 5:10
Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
Eph 5:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
1Th 5:5
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

What is this, he did hide himself from them?

Isa 54:8
In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
Isa 57:17
For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.
Isa 59:2
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Isa 64:7
And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
Isa 65:16
That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.

Jhn 12:35
Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
Jhn 12:36
While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
Jhn 12:37
But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
Jhn 12:38
That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
Jhn 12:39
Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
Jhn 12:40
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
Jhn 12:41
These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
Jhn 12:42
Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
Jhn 12:43
For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Christian mysticism.
Scary stuff that the church doesn't want us to talk about.

You remember about Mary and Martha? (Luke 10:38-42)
Which one was the active and which one was the mystic?
Why didn't Jesus rebuke Mary?

Because Mary was listening and Martha was working.
Neither really got rebuked as much as Jesus told Martha that what Mary was doing was the better of the two.

You can work all day, doesn't mean you will get it right if you don't follow the directions.

Right.

Are you more like Martha or more like Mary?

/
I listen while I work lol.

This is my life. When dad is home with me, from the time I rise to the time I sleep, he needs everything done for him. He has arthritis throughout his body so he can't walk hardly, or bathe himself or even feed himself sometimes. So my world in the flesh is one of service.
Service to my dad and service to my 6 cats, lol. That's my small world.
Inbetween those times, when I can have a rest, I come here and chat and post and study everything. And spend time with my friends.
I talk and listen to the Lord as he leads me through his word, how I should respond, what I can share, and what I should keep my distance from getting entangled in other peoples arguments. (that's not an easy one to do)

I just got home from rehab about an hour ago. My first stop is the forum to see how everyone is doing today. Somewhere I'll get something to eat, take a shower, and try to rest a bit. But no doubt my heart is always with the Lord who there is no time when he is not speaking and I am listening, even though sometimes I don't always understand the lesson at the time.

Life is learning everyday to listen to how he leads your heart, and also how to use your hands for his purpose.

Welcome to my world
:D

Deu 11:18
Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

All one needs to do is "listen" and then "do" what he tells you.
Mat 11:15
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear what the spirit saith.

Problem is most times we listen to what the flesh is saying.
Martha hears.. you must work.
Mary hears... you must rest.

The question then becomes, what is work?
And who's master are we serving?

James has a lot to say concerning faith and works. Which always seems to be a great controversy in the church.
But it shouldn't be, if the work you work is the work God gives you to do, and not the way you think they should be done.
And I'm not talking about your daily 9-5 40 hour work week.
This is my taking care of my dad. Or working together as a team at the workplace, caring about eachother, listening to eachother, over and above your daily tasks.

Noah had faith and built an ark.
He heard what God said and he did it.
What does Jesus tell us to do? Love your neighbor as yourself.
Are people listening and DOING what he said to do?

There' the fruit of the matter right there.

:D

Both were working. Both were demonstrating love for Jesus.
Jesus defended Mary's contemplative work.

Courtesy is a good work when we share it with others, even if we agree to disagree.

1Co 14:26
How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

Many people contemplate and meditate to find the deeper meanings in the words.
And others attack or are attacked for thinking thoughts and searching for hidden treasures.
What is apples to some are oranges to others. And that's ok, as long as everyone is building to open more understanding from different points of view, or different experiences.

Even if one doesn't agree with another's philosophy or interpretation, we should always try to have the courtesy to at least listen before passing judgment.
Not everyone hears the same. And to those that hear more is given, and those who don't well, then, they usually pack their bags and go digging somewhere else and possibly find fools gold rather than the true gold.

Nevertheless what ever it is they find, it is up to the listener to at least have the courtesy to listen and then take a minute to think about what the other person is trying to articulate from their point of view.

The internet is such a cold mediator. You can't see the expressions and you can't always hear the tone of the voice.
So it takes more patience to determine from which direction someone is sharing what they hear.

We can be on track or way off course. But in time with patience and curteousy eventually some people gain better insight.
Better not to tread on a seed before it is determined whether it be wheat or tare.
Somethings take time to grow before we know which it will turn out to be.

I've been studying the bible for 40 years and it's been an uphill climb from seeing things in one light, to understanding it in another.
But it was through the curtesy of the listener that I didn't give up and walk away, I just kept digging deeper and reaching higher, until some things became clearer into view.

Life is a journey. And everyone has their own experiences in it.
And they use those experiences to relate what the Spirit is teaching them.
Not everyone needs to learn the same lessons. Some already been down the roads others are only just setting foot on.

Curtesy, politeness, and patience... It's a tough world out there, and in here.
LOL

I don't see any harm in reasoning with the scriptures, so long as you include the Author of them in the conversation. "Come now, let us reason together says the Lord"...
The thing is we are running out of time as everyone can see, so we must choose.

Meaning, it's not of the Lord and it's a waste of time to follow Judaism since nobody is saved thru Judaism

I see you've got some antisemitic stuff going on, too.

Seriously, can't you get your hands on a non-big boy peoples Bible?

John 4:22
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for SALVATION IS OF THE JEWS.

Romans 2:28-29

For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

John 3:1-10
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The Bible is an anvil that has worn out millions of hammers just like yours.

Keep banging on that keyboard—you'll catch up eventually.

Some are so scripturaly illiterate that they don't understand that nobody can be saved by following Judaism which REJECTS Jesus Christ as Lord and as the Messiah.

The same people that reject the New Covenant, go figure! laughing.gif
