You aint seen nothing yet!

Imagine the disputes when Jesus returns!
I have a theory that everyone will be surprised at where they end up in the afterlife.
I imagine some arguing doctrine with Jesus, trying to correct him. - LOL

Of course, but don't laugh too hard. We did it before, then beat him and nailed him to a cross.
Too be clear, I'm not laughing at Jesus.
I'm laughing at those who would make unto themselves a god of the Bible and their personal
doctrinal opinions to the point of wanting to correct Jesus on spiritual truth.

At first glance I thought the comment was comical myself.
In truth, they already do, and will, and will learn righteousness, myself included.

Wrangler's comment that "Christendom is filled with IDOLATRY. Their IDOL is their doctrine" is nonsense.

An idol is an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship. I have never seen anyone put their Bible on a stand and bow down to it (although KJVOs come close).
And people don't do idol worship of famous people, such as Sports, Actors, Family etc.? Anything that is put above loving God with ALL your being, is idol worship.
Mat. 10
[37] He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
So yes! The doctrines of men are being worshipped! It's known of as "church-ianity"
1 Cor. 2
[5] That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power [authority] of God.

"My doctrinal opinion is true; you're doctrinal opinion is false." - Got it?
Say what?

Or worse...

"Who should I believe, you, or the Word of God?" (in reference to a man-made doctrinal opinion)

Basically, playing the "God card" to win a doctrinal argument. "How will you top that?"
Why do we treat each other this way?

Clever word, Bibliolatry, but essentially meaningless.

Why would anyone throw away God's word? It isn't anyone's God, but it is the words of God, not garbage.
It's typically used by those who don't hold to the inspiration of scripture or worse yet, place their own spirit communication above it. It's a slippery slope. If you love God you will love His word.

My doctrine opinion / belief
VS
Your doctrine opinion / belief…

Definitely IS wide and varied and Appropriately so…

Huh?

From the stand-point;
The Word of God IS True…Period.

However; “Applicability” differs widely Per individuals.

Scripture IS … IF / THEN “knowledge”.
* IF is Scripturally mentioned over 1800 Times.
* THEN is Scripturally mentioned over 2400 Times.
* IF being an individuals ACT…
and
THEN being an individuals CONSEQUENCE…(result positive or negative)

WHAT other person realistically KNOWS another persons accomplished LIST of “learning about, thinking about, contemplating “IF’s” OR accomplished “IF’S”… regarding an individuals Relationship with The Lord God Almighty?

Glory to God,
Taken

Because it makes me think or at least feel like it makes me look like I know what I'm talking about but you don't.

Pass.

I came across a forum yesterday - where I saw NO recognizable handles which are seen in this and a number of other forums - where they do not treat one another that way. It actually makes for pleasant reading. It's refreshing. Probably strictly moderated, though.

@St. SteVen Correction: I just saw some handles that I've seen here and elsewhere before.

Yours,
The Hypocrite.

I was part of a forum for many years that didn't tolerate the bad behavior so prevalent in "Christian" forums. We were a close bunch, we didn't all believe the same ways, but we could talk about it without anyone getting rude or mean.

But you have to be willing to draw a line.

Much love!

Yes. It requires the self-control of holding the tongue which is evidence of abiding in Christ, since it's part of the fruit of the Spirit.

It's difficult to do when personal insults are interwoven in one and the same post with other forms of bait, like false claiming that you said something you did not say, or asking you to give a reason why you said something knowing that you had just given the reasons why you said it.

Etc etc. There are lots of baits being used.

Why are you attacking the Bible in a Christian forum? I think Satan has stolen your brain.

IDOLATRY. Christendom is filled with IDOLATRY. Their IDOL is their doctrine.

I just finished a Bible Study entitled "Three Strands." We discussed this very point in some detail. The human condition cannot seem to stick to the simplicity of the Gospel. It is so simple.
  1. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
  2. Love God with your all and others as yourself.
  3. Forgive others as your Heavenly Father has forgiven you.
Not to say there is not more in the 66 books but these make up the heart of it. One more major point I ought to add is the EGO, the doorway to spiritual growth is humility, to die to self. Because of the EGO, because people like to muck up the simple by complicating the heart of it, we have pervasive IDOLATRY.

The CJB makes it clear what we call the 1C & 2C are truly tied. False gods and idols, including man-made or even man-held doctrines, are prohibited. One of the biggest IDOLS in Christianity, although not the biggest, is the IDOLATRY of a translation.
Yes, i agree with you here.

I go further than this. We have made the bible the biggest idol. It's massive in the eyes of Christians. People will cut families off, best friends, neighbours and anyone else who dare threaten their 'idol' they worship.

It may only take for a potential rival to appear and they will retaliate against it with great opposition and anger.

I'm speaking of direct revelation of truth revealed to us by the Spirit of God that didn't originate from their bible (idol). So this isn't really a rival but compliments the limited supply of God's words found in the bibles.

You should see the sparks fly when people think their idol is being challenged.
