The trouble with the tariffs is it basically another tax on the American people, as someone who sells stuff overseas every now and then, I don't pay a tarriff, the customer does when it arrives on the US border.

It's meant to deter Americans from buying overseas, but it is still a tax on the American people, the exporter does not pay.

The 10% Tarriff on Australia is supposedly a retaliatory tarriff, what USA does not realise though our 10% tax on goods and services everyone pays when they do there shopping, whether if it's an Aussie or a foreigner.

The issue is USA needs to up their manufacturing capacity first, and that includes manufacturing of the components to create their products, without that, it's only going bring back inflation, as it would bring up the cost to produce goods in the USA. It's going to take some time for the USA to catch up with the manufacturing capacity of some of those Asian nations, and that's if they can..... And it would take longer than Trump's 2nd term if they pull it of I reckon.

Though I do not see a benefit to placing tariffs on nations like Australia, Canada or the UK.
