Technically, self defense is not illegal so technically Russia is not necessarily doing wrong
Yeah, you could make the case that NATO encroaching on Russia's territory, and Joe Biden's desire to admit Ukraine into NATO, were two primary drivers for the aggressive Russian response. But such theories are considered taboo in the West.

The west was doing things in Ukraine that was a threat to Russia's national security, which is why Trump is not going to do anything to Russia so no need to worry about that.
I'm not worried about Russia. Putin has his hands full with Ukraine.

Ukraine has no leverage so at this point they should sue for peace before they lose their entire country
Trump was Zelensky's lifeline and he threw it back in his face. The white house meeting was utterly bizarre. I think he legitimately believes that the European countries are going to save his country. But they can't even save themselves.

Getting a tattoo is also taboo

I think it's pretty funny that "big bad Russia" cannot even take Ukraine :funlaugh2

Thru this situation we have learned the Russia really sucks at conventional warfare.

All they can do is lob nukes at people, si I guess it's a good idea to not antagonize them too bad.

I did notice in the news that the sole Nuclear power plant in Ukraine that is being operated by Russia is not being bombed.

Yep, sometimes in life people need to cut their loses and move on.

That's pretty much where Ukraine is right now.

That can't do much else seeing they don't have the resources to defeat Russia and if they did Russia could always start logging nukes at them so either way it looks like Ukraine's goose is cooked.

But they've put up a good fight, no doubt about that

My wife wanted me to go to Ukraine and volunteer then I found out about the big life insurance policy :Ohz

It's not that they suck, it's just that they're not the Red Army of 1945. Plus, Ukraine is using western equipment, which is superior to what the Russians are using. Finally, it takes time to conquer an entire country. It took the Red Army several years to make it to Berlin.

All they can do is lob nukes at people, si I guess it's a good idea to not antagonize them too bad.
I think they would only use them as a last resort. Which is why I've always opposed the U.S. getting involved directly in that conflict.

Yes. Both armies should take care not to hit these sensitive areas.

Yep, sometimes in life people need to cut their loses and move on.
What if he can't? I mean, let's say he compromises with Russia. Then his own men turn on him and string him up as a traitor. It's not unheard of in that part of the world. It would help to explain his rather aggressive and antagonistic demeanor with Trump and Vance, two people that preferred the route of compromise.

Totally not the same thing.

The point is, Russia claims to be a world power and they are not concerning conventional warfare.

None to worry as we won't as long as Trump is in town.

I'm talking about Ukraine needs to cut their loses and move on before Pootin eventually takes over all of Ukraine which he eventually will if this drags on.

“War does not solve problems; on the contrary, it amplifies them and inflicts deep wounds on the history of peoples, which take generations to heal. No armed victory can compensate for the pain of mothers, the fear of children, or stolen futures.”

(Pope Leo XIV)

No need to be quoting heretics, they are irrelevant
Besides, when others refuse to stand down one has to make a decision to either defend themselves or be destroyed.

A lot of nutjobs think we should never go to war which is the devil using them to take over the world which of course eventually happens when the one world government takes over.

That's when all the nutjobs take the mark and end up in hell which makes the Kingdom of God a better place!

Iran is responding to the attack by closing the strait of Hormuz with it's navy. As Marco Rubio has said, it would be suicidal for the Iranians. As John Bolton has said in the past, if Iran were to ever do this, the U.S. navy would be ordered to engage and destroy all Iranian vessels in the strait.

That's just target practice for Israel and the United States.

They'll bring out the heavy artillery and keep the Strait of Hormuz clear of nutjob Iranians no problem.

It'll be like a video game! :funlaugh2

It'll be easy enough. But the more it escalates, the closer we move to a full scale ground invasion of the country.

C.S. Lewis

I noticed he included drinking the booze, that's sinful behavior.
(chatting with our friends over a pint)

But then again CS Lewis had some false doctrine going on. Very sad.

In modern times he would have included smoking the weed bon with your friends and watching porn

According to Iran, they moved the enriched uranium elsewhere before the attacks took place. They could be lying, but who can say for sure?

Of course they are lying. Satellite images would show the movement and where it went. They were watching those nuclear plants for a long time.

I'm curious. Do you think heaven is then empty right now?

No. God, Jesus, and myriads of angels are there right now. Human beings (with the exception of Jesus) who have died are all in the grave, asleep in the dust of the earth, awaiting bodily resurrection to life.

But no human souls?
Jesus and Paul say otherwise, @Matthias
Luke 23:39-43
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Hebrews 12:1-2
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The verse in Hebrews chapter 12 in context follows chapter 11 which names many who died in the faith before Christ the Messiah was sent. They are named as being among the "great cloud of witnesses."

Jesus was in the tomb / grave that day (and two more). So, too, did the crucified man whom he was speaking to go to the grave that day. They were together in the place of the dead: the grave. The grave is paradise? Paradise is the garden of Eden restored.

At home in the body, not out of the body. Paul speaks at length about when the dead will be with the Messiah. The parousia. Resurrection is the key.

The great cloud of witnesses are those who have run and completed their race. Their witness is their life. They persevered to the end. They’re awaiting the reward that all who will do as they have done; all will receive the reward at the same time.

Jesus and Paul are bodily resurrection men. So am I.

Okay ...so you call Jesus a liar in order hold to a false doctrine. To each their own. I believe Jesus. I believe the written Word that was left for believers.

Jesus is God, the Son ...the Word that was made flesh, the spotless Lamb that was crucified for the sins of the world, preached to the captives and took the keys of death and hell ...led captivity captive, who rose again on the third day ...and is even now seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven ever interceding for us. He is certainly not dead.

Revelation 1:17-18
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
