Jesus truly lived as a real human being—His life and presence left an undeniable mark.

Whether His teachings resonate with others or not is up to them, but I felt it was worth sharing a passage from the Apostolic Record, that speaks through one of His powerful parables.

Parable of the Pharisee and Tax Collector​

Luke 18:9 Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned everyone else: 10 “Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer[a]: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! 12 I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’

13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ 14 I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

That parable starts out

Luke 18:9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others.

But I still do not see how the post with those verses that were very well connected and laid out ( but have somewhat ruffled your feathers) meets the standard of anyone trusting in themselves or despising anyone by posting them. They were just scripture, and most by the apostles.

You believe those scriptures contradict Jesus parable somehow?

MatthewG, you keep overposting the same parable as if we cannot see it, or have ignored Jesus.

Perhaps the post ruffled your feathers a bit because you struggle with the sin mentioned in his post, I think you shared something to that effect on another thread.

I would say his wisdom is profound compared to the head knowledge of most people. It takes the spirit to understand what’s going on here.

Jesus words are life giving, and spirit.

John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

He has the words of eternal life

John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Rom 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
Rom 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have
your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

These timeless accounts carry deep meaning, echoing through the age of Fulfillment as enduring lessons for those learning from Him, and through the guidance of the Spirit.


I’ll used the New Living Translation cause while I love the Nasb, this is a simple format for any person to be able to easily read! NLT is about 6th grade level reading and I dropped out in 9th grade so…

“Then Jesus went out to the lakeshore again and taught the crowds that were coming to him.

As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him.

So Levi got up and followed him. Later, Levi invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners. (There were many people of this kind among Jesus’ followers.)

But when the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees saw him eating with tax collectors and other sinners, they asked his disciples, “Why does he eat with such scum?”

When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.””

Psalm 25:8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." (John 8:9-11)
There are plenty of ways to sin and those who point fingers and judge others are just as guilty.

It doesn't matter.

There are plenty of ways to sin and those who point fingers and judge others are just as guilty.
Sinners are already under God's wrath, condemnation, or judgment, so "judging" is not truly the issue here. Instead, the issue is trying to help bring people to a place of repentance so they might come out from under God's judgment.

Yes it is. Granted, it's no more of a sin than adultery, fornication, or any other type of heterosexual sin, but it is most definitely a sin that needs to be repented of.
Adultery and fornication are actions being gay is not an action. Engaging in sex with person of the same sex is the action/sin.

Its the sexual lifestyle that is the defining point.
A Homosexual is not someone who thinks about it, . its someone who practices homosexual sexuality as a LIFESTYLE.

For example....Its a person who goes to the Doctor for the "drug pack" that they can take that will keep them from getting AIDS, so that they can enjoy having homosexual sex in Gay Bar bathrooms with strangers, and so forth.

Adultery and fornication are actions being gay is not an action. Engaging in sex with person of the same sex is the action/sin.
Being "effeminate" is a sin that will keep one from inheriting the kingdom of God.

"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

Look. Unlike many, I do not differentiate between heterosexual sins and homosexual sins. Sin is sin, regardless of one's sexual orientation. Personally, I have always shown an element of compassion when dealing with homosexuals or lesbians in my own sphere of influence. I honestly believe that a lot of them are simply "looking for love in all the wrong places" as the lyrics of a song once said. In other words, having faced rejection in normal relationships, a lot of people seek love in other sorts of relationships. Also, I have personally met homosexuals/lesbians who were the victims of sexual abuse in their youth, and that apparently messed up their psyches. There are also other variables involved. In any case, we need to compassionately be informing homosexuals (and heterosexuals) that they need to be reconciled back unto God through genuine repentance and saving faith in Jesus Christ.

People who make excuses for those who practice Gay sex, are obviosly in need of some alone time with God, to get His perspective on it.
As they dont have it yet.
Start with Romans 1.

Never be a "chrisitan" who is infected with "blind tolerance"., as that not only proves you are an idiot, but it proves you are "of the world". Mr or Mrs or MS "WOKE".

And remember that God loves all sinners, which is why Christ died for us ALL......but He does not accept anyone's sin, or sinful lifestyle.

Really?

Do you honestly believe that people like Jesus, the prophets, and the apostles, who all addressed the sexual sins of others, had problems with sexual things themselves?

Or is it that those who refuse to address sexual sins are engaged in sexual sins themselves?

I vote for the latter.

Im really serious that people who focus on the sexuality of other people have some problems.


Now when it comes to pedophila, I believe in calling the 911, Law.

But 2 grown adults doing their own thing is none of my business.

If "their own thing" is sinful, then whose "business" is it to warn them if not the "business" of Christians?
Let's go back to what the Law stated, and see if you would agree with it.


Leviticus 20:13 And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them


If you gonna live by this law you need to do what it says.... You need put them to death.

I don't personally condone that, because Yeshua paid for the sins of mankind.
