I'm not sure exactly which part of what I said you've never heard. Let me know and I then I can better answer your questions.

If that is true, then Paul served the law of the spirit in the past, before he had the spirit. That can't be right.

Yes, verse 5 is in the past, at which time Paul had no choice as to which law he served. but in verse 25 he had a choice.

Notice the opening words in verse 6, "but now..."

In order to rightly divide the word of truth, it is important to pay close attention to verb tense. Romans 7 goes back and forth between the past and the present. Verse 5 is in the past tense, whereas verse 25 is in the present tense.
Context is what I was trying to explain to you. You still do not understand that verse 25 is still someone in the flesh, meaning they still have their sin nature. The born again do not have a sin nature any longer. That is the reason for being born again in the first place. Do you really believe Paul was in the flesh when he wrote verse 25?
So, after I pointed out the different verb tenses in Romans 7, you still want to maintain Paul served the law of the spirit before he had the spirit? He was serving the law of the spirit as he was throwing Christians into jail? I think you need to sharpen your spiritual pencil a bit.

Context is what I was trying to explain to you. You still do not understand that verse 25 is still someone in the flesh, meaning they still have their sin nature. The born again do not have a sin nature any longer. That is the reason for being born again in the first place. Do you really believe Paul was in the flesh when he wrote verse 25?

I think I see what you are saying now, but just to make sure, are you saying that a Christian can not sin?

Verse 6 says we are released from the law, not sin, nor the spiritual battle between flesh and spirit. Cain wasn't under the law either, but he certainly sinned.
If we are born again, what is it that is reborn?
Technically, the scriptures say we are, "born from above."

John 3:3,

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Where is the desire to sin removed from? Is there any desire to sin left?

Read 1 John 3. It is the chapter on the type of sin that can qualify us for death. Vs. 4 sin in lawlessness. This is the type of sin that is taken out of our nature to qualify us for eternal life, the opposite of death and makes us righteous, vs 7. Vs. 9 says we cannot commit this type of sin unto death. And not "practice" as the corrupt Alexandrian texts add that satisfies itching ears. Righteousness is Sinlessness. (Not "sinless perfection")

But John says is chapter 5:16-17 there is another type of sin that is not unto death. Peter says that this type of sin can be overcome over time, that some erroneously call sanctification, but is actually glorification (Romans 8:29-30, 1 Cor. 6:11. And once all the fruit of the Spirit are mature Peter says that we "will never stumble." 2 Peter 1:5-11. This is perfection, also known as holiness. This is the reason why sinless and perfection should not be taught together, because they are years apart. Only at the end when holy can you put those words together and it be true. Revelation 22:11 shows the two caliber of Christians that will be in heaven. Righteous who keep the commandments of God, and Holy when we are perfect and never stumble.

That is a doctrine of demons. It is demons who want you to believe grace is freedom from the law and the blood of Jesus covers our sins from God's sight. That belief will send you straight to hell. Don't be a party to it, because if you teach others this false demonic doctrine you will have a more severe punishment. It was also taught in the 1st century as seen in Jude 1:4.

We are freed from SIN. Romans 6:5-7 5 "For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin."

Cain was Adam's son. All who have Adam as their ancestor are born with a sin nature, even now after Jesus has died and been resurrected. Romans 5:12 "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— 13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come."

The truth shall make you free.
John 8: 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Just as we are made in the image of God, we also are a triune being. Not three persons, but three unique parts. Colossians 2: 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."

"The flesh" in Romans is our sin nature, or carnal nature, speaking of a carnal mind. It is not talking about our body because it has not yet died. So only our spirit and soul is born again now. We have the mind of Christ 1 Cor. 2:16 is we are born of the Spirit of God. If we have not been freed from sins of the flesh as in Galatians 5:19-21, we do not belong to Christ, meaning He doesn't "know" us. Matthew 7:19-23.

I have to say I'm totally confused by the things you say. On the one hand, you say I'll be sent to hell for believing Jesus freed us from the law. On the other hand, you say we are free from sin. The two ideas are diametrically opposed to each other.

Am I liable for eternal damnation for believing Jesus freed me from the law? So I'll be sent to hell, even though I cant sin?

I'll be honest with you; I don't think there is any explanation you can give me that'll make sense. Just saying it so you don't spend unnecessary time trying to justify your stance. But, it is of course your prerogative to persist.

That above interpretation is an EXAGGERATION of Paul's teaching instead turned into man's false Once Saved, Always Saved doctrine.

The way Paul teaches that we work out our own Salvation is by NOT DOING those carnal sins, but instead walk by The Spirit. Paul spells this out plainly in his Epistles that you just BYPASS, like 1 Timothy 1, Galatians 5, and 1 Corinthians 6. In Galatians 5, Paul taught that we are only 'dead' to the law IF... we walk by The Spirit. But that IF we walk by our flesh instead, then it means BACK UNDER THE LAW.

And in 1 John 1, Apostle John showed what those in Christ are to do when we find ourselves having slipped up in future sin. We are to REPENT to Jesus about it, asking forgiveness! And that's for the BELIEVING CHRISTIAN, which is who John is addressing in that 1 John 1 Chapter.

Even in Luke 11 when Christ's disciple asked Jesus how to pray, Jesus INCLUDED THE ASKING FORGIVENESS OF SIN within that prayer...

11 And it came to pass, that, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said unto Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."

We are freed from the NEED for the law, because the law is now our nature to obey naturally. That is why we are a "new creature." All creatures do what comes naturally. You see, the Jews had the law, but they had to keep it with a sin nature that was fighting against written laws in their mind. Their nature was in opposition to the written law. That is why it is called the ministry of death.

2 Cor. 3:6-11
6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. 10 For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. 11 For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious.

If we died with Christ we are freed from sin is = acquitted- which means our sins we have committed.
We are to walk in newness of life if you read R0 6 in context which is KEY. We are to put the deeds of the flesh to death by the Spirit. You have probably been doing this since you became a Christian. Think about it? have you stopped certain behaviors after realizing they were not pleasing to the Lord? That was likely due to the Spirit prompting you and making you see things differently, so that you agree with God about sin. Do you see the Spirit working in you?
As we abide in Christ and put the deeds of the flesh to death- the Spirit reveals more and more to us. It is by the Spirit that we are given the POWER over sin. Sin no longer rules us like it once did. that is what Paul is saying. Sin's dominion over us is gone.
The sins we commit after being saved need to be confessed and put to death. I know you have probably been taught that all of your sins- even ones not committed yet are forgiven. They will be forgiven thanks to Jesus, but we are not to stay practicing them- we have power now to overcome them. This is God working in us making us new creatures- it is a part of being born again.- our sanctification. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus and God works in us via His Spirit to make us new.


But among you, as is proper among the saints, there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed. / Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk, or crude joking, which are out of character, but rather thanksgiving. / For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure, or greedy person (that is, an idolater) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Not according to Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 1, Galatians 5, and 1 Corinthians 6 one is NOT FREED from the LAW... IF... one continues in doing those SINS Paul listed there.

And Paul IS TEACHING GOD'S LAW IN THESE NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES... IT IS PART OF CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE WHAT HE TAUGHT HERE...

Are there Christian brethren who continually commit those above sins but still think they are going to enter into the Kingdom of God? Yes, because there are many wolves in sheep's clothing at today's pulpits wrongly teaching they will be saved.

Not according to Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 1, Galatians 5, and 1 Corinthians 6 one is NOT FREED from the LAW... IF... one continues in doing those SINS Paul listed there.
The Law is still in effect for SINNERS. But for the born again, they become born again by having the sin removed from their nature so God can write His laws on their heart as part of the New Covenant. Then we must walk in the Spirit.

If we died with Christ we are freed from sin is = acquitted- which means our sins we have committed.
We are to walk in newness of life if you read R0 6 in context which is KEY. We are to put the deeds of the flesh to death by the Spirit. You have probably been doing this since you became a Christian. Think about it? have you stopped certain behaviors after realizing they were not pleasing to the Lord? That was likely due to the Spirit prompting you and making you see things differently, so that you agree with God about sin. Do you see the Spirit working in you?
As we abide in Christ and put the deeds of the flesh to death- the Spirit reveals more and more to us. It is by the Spirit that we are given the POWER over sin. Sin no longer rules us like it once did. that is what Paul is saying. Sin's dominion over us is gone.
The sins we commit after being saved need to be confessed and put to death. I know you have probably been taught that all of your sins- even ones not committed yet are forgiven. They will be forgiven thanks to Jesus, but we are not to stay practicing them- we have power now to overcome them. This is God working in us making us new creatures- it is a part of being born again.- our sanctification. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus and God works in us via His Spirit to make us new.


But among you, as is proper among the saints, there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed. / Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk, or crude joking, which are out of character, but rather thanksgiving. / For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure, or greedy person (that is, an idolater) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Eph 5:3-5


The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; / idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions, / and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. The way Paul teaches that we work out our own Salvation is by NOT DOING those carnal sins, but instead walk by The Spirit.

Working out your Salvation is to understand what it is, and how to exist within it.
For example.......you have people on this forum who believe they can lose their Salvation.
So, they do not understand God's Grace, as "imputed righteousness", so, they have not "worked out their salvation" yet.

You are Who God says you have become........and you have to BELIEVE this, and only identify yourself as He identifies you, or you are "fallen from Grace".
See, if you dont, then you will fail as a disciple. You will be confused about staying saved. You will be easily led from one belief to another to another. Your Prayers will not be faith filled. Your Life will not literally reflect who you have become "in Christ" as a NEW CREATION.

One thing I've never heard on the radio from preachers about being born again is that the desire to commit lawless sin is gone. It is more than just Scripture telling us we are free from sin, and that we are to reckon ourselves free from sin. Paul said that because "whatsoever a man thinks in his heart, so is he." So why sin when you have no desire to sin?

That is because demons are hard at work telling us we are free from the laws of God. It is like Romans 6 doesn't exist.

Can you imagine going to church and every week some guy is up there telling us that all we are are sinners saved by grace. Not only that but you are doomed to sin everyday. But Jesus has saved us and forgives all our past, present and future sins, so just trust in Him and don't worry about your sins.

I'm acutely aware. I explained that when I said by the Spirit.
The circumcised heart / the Spirit of God in us gives us dominion over sin, so that it does not reign over us any longer in our mortal bodies. WE put to death our sins by the Spirit. Did I leave out that our desire to sin is gone? No. when sin had dominion over us - it ruled us - hence the desire. That is what dominion over sin is, we can now see sin's ugliness and thereby reject it by the Spirit. It is no longer is appealing. We are set free from sin's dominion over us. All by the Spirit.
God in us - Christ in us- the Spirit in us.

When Paul says......How can we who are dead to sin, live any longer in it.......He is explaining that the old man of sin is dead.
So, to live there, free from sin consciousness, is to have "worked our your salvation".
And how to do this.... is against our nature, against our flesh, and against our logic.

The Key is to understand that Christianity is All Spiritual, and so, when the Believer is trying to DO That...then they find this..

= "that which i would do i can't and that which i hate, i do".

So, what is the issue?
They are trying to self impose self righteousness upon God's Grace, ..... and that causes this...

= "Apart from me, you can do nothing".

What Christians are never taught is that when you work at Salvaiton, then God rests, and when you rest in God's Grace, ..then God works.
In other words......stop trying to Do Christianity, and instead allow God to do this...

= "I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me"

"Christ always gives me the Victory".

See that one?
That person is abiding In Christ, according to utter submission to the Spirit of God who then empowers them to live a perfect walk of faith. A perfected Discipleship.
They are become "the fullness of the stature of Christ".....on Earth, and that is what we are all supposed to become down here.

Most believers are exactly the opposite...they have shut off the power of God's Grace, and they are trying to self effort it.... as their carnal idea of walking in the Spirit., and that is a fail., as that is wrong faith.
That is literally taking the helmet of Salvation, off.
Wrong faith produces nothing Spiritual, and everything is carnal.

When Jesus says "apart from me you can do nothing"....>He is explaining that : "you are trying to do it, and only i can do it through you".

Salvation is Me doing it for you........not you trying to do it in my place.

So, to let Jesus live His Holy life through us....is.. "I die daily'"......that is = im resting in God's Grace, so that God's power rests on me that produces Godliness.

That is because demons are hard at work telling us we are free from the laws of God.

The Law came by Moses, .....God's Grace and Spiritual Truth didnt.

The Law and the 10 commandments are a "ministry of death" to everyone who tries to keep them as their faith.
"'Christ has redeemed us from the Curse of the Law"..
The curse of the law is that it drives you into carnal behavior, and you can't stop it........so, Jesus has to remove it.....as "Christ is the end of the Law for Righteousness".

All Christians have a born again spirit that includes a renewed inner moral compass, because the Holy Spirit has essentially taken control of your conscience, and this remains unless you quench the Holy Spirit.
So, He shows us the moral avenue and we are to follow it and not get off track.

Christians are not sinners.
Sinners are unbelievers who need to get Saved.
Christians are "a new Creation" a "Saint".......having been "made righteous"... and we exist in the KOG.
Most Christians BLINDLY see themselves as a body, trying to be good enough for God to keep.
God sees the Believer as a "New Creation"... Joined to Him eternally , having become "the righteousness of God, in Christ".

. Not only that but you are doomed to sin everyday. But Jesus has saved us and forgives all our past, present and future sins, so just trust in Him and don't worry about your sins.

A person who is thinking about sin, worrying about it.... has not understood what Jesus has accomplished for them on The Cross.

They read....

"Jesus is the ONE TIME.......ETERNAL......sacrifice for sin"...and they can't understand what the word Etenal means, in this verse.

It could be that they use the scriptural words-- dominion or rule over or power over us rather than say take away desire.

She insists Sin does not exist in the born again since all is forgiven- After Salvation our behavior does not matter-
you can live in constant carnal sin but if you were born again you will to heaven.

I reject all of that.- it is not what Paul taught. It doesn't even make sense!

We are to surely to cooperate with the Spirit of God in us who is purifying us.- sanctification--
If a person continuously rebels I would seriously question if they were ever regenerate at all.
