Out of respect to @Grailhunter, he is looking at the THREE who are Ecad Elohim from Genesis.

However, the THREE = Let Us make man in Our image according to Our likeness = are ONE = ECHAD Elohim

NO ONE is able to comprehend this so we MUST allow the Scripture to define for us Who the "Us/Our/Our" are.

Genesis , Exodus Gospel , Apostles and Revelation give us the exact representation of Elohim

Simple facts of perspective

No doubt that Yahweh more than once makes it clear in the Old Testament that He was the only God and there was no one else like Him....

Hell and the devil are not identified in the Old Testament. The Jews did not believe in the devil or Hell back then or today.

Yahweh's primary enemy in the Old Testament were Pagans....Yahweh declared war on them....the kill all that breaths command.

The Jews are looking for a human warlord King that would take down their oppressors and put them in power and a glistening Temple would be built and the Mosaic Law would be obeyed by the world and sacrifices would continue forever

Something changes between the testaments…..

Satan becomes Yahweh’s Primary enemy and a threat to mankind.

Neither Yahweh or Yeshua declared war on the Pagans. In stead it is Yahweh’s plan to save them for Heaven. So He impregnates Miriam to produce a God Messiah. Because it is Satan that is the threat now a human Messiah would not get the Job done.

Because Yeshua is a God and is forgiving and peace loving and generally does not match the prophecies…..the Jews reject Him then and today.

The third God called the Holy Spirit is introduced in the New Testament. The name of this God is not revealed. Speculations ensue why the name of this important God is not revealed. From here on this God has a very close relationship with Mankind.

The Godhead is formed…Yahweh and Yeshua and the Holy Spirit. Three Gods on three thrones. There is a unity in perfection because perfect minds are going to think a like. But there are 3 distinct Gods with their own minds and personalities.

The three Gods in one belief is false.

You're a theologian? Three Gods? Why can't you find that comment in the Bible??? It ain't there! You should have stayed home and read your Bible instead of travelling to 5 countries looking for unBiblical opinions.

Did you notice that all three are named throughout the New Testament. If not go back and start reading.

That's quite an admission from an SDA.
Why? Is there something about us you maybe are unaware of?
most English translations that ignore the definite article......not the NWT.
Maybe because it isn't there in the Greek?
I have explained our rendering
Indeed you have, and I am sure you are well aware of the numerous theologians, biblicists and scholars who have, since the NWT was first published less than 80 years ago, who have offered many well critiqued arguments against the NWT.

Also, you underestimate the intelligence and scrupulous attention to detail the many language experts invested in bringing the KJV scriptures to light after over 1000 years of darkness.

The irony is that the NWT translaters used the Westcott and Hort Greek text which was based on the Alexandrian manuscript that of renowned for it's error ridden corrupt quality.

In Greek, the definite article does not distinguish a different "kind" or "grade" of deity, but is dependent on grammar and syntax. God can be both "theos" and "ho theos, tu theu, ton theon...", depending on the sentence.

You could just look at J 1:18 which you mentioned:
Θεὸν [no definite article] οὐδεὶς ἑώρακεν πώποτε· μονογενὴς Θεὸς [no definite article] ὁ ὢν εἰς τὸν κόλπον τοῦ Πατρὸς, ἐκεῖνος ἐξηγήσατο.
The thing that bothers me is not that the definite article is not always found with mention of Yahweh...but the fact that the definite article is never used when describing Jesus Christ. Context determines whether there should be a capital “G” or a small “g”.

“Theos” is not a word that describes Yahweh alone......

When we look at a passage like John 10:31-36, in Greek it is obvious when Yahweh is mentioned, (ho theos) and also obvious when it is used to describe the “gods” (human judges) that are mentioned in that passage. Capital letters and lower case letters are used to indicate the difference. Translators can add capital letters to completely change the meaning of a verse. Bias is there, but you have to know what you’re looking at...and what was understood as truth back when the Bible was written, rather than doctrines that the church system adopted later.

Psalm 82:1...
“God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment”. (ESV)
Who are the “gods” mentioned here?

In John 10:34-35, Jesus was quoting Psalm 82:6....

“I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.” (ESV)

It’s a highly emotive subject that has been tossed around for centuries, and it will only be put to bed when the curtain falls, the king claims his victory, and the truth will remain. What we believe will not change a thing...the truth has always been the truth....and that will never change. We though might find ourselves on the wrong side of that argument.......what then?

The thing that bothers me is not that the definite article is not always found with mention of Yahweh...but the fact that the definite article is never used when describing Jesus Christ.
This is also not true, for example:

Rev 1:8

Or, if you want it even directly from the Old Testament:
ὁ θρόνος σου, ὁ Θεός, εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος, ράβδος εὐθύτητος ἡ ῥάβδος τῆς βασιλείας σου.
Psalm 44:7 (LXX)

Psalm 82:1...
“God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment”. (ESV)
Who are the “gods” mentioned here?

Probably kings or judges.

It’s a highly emotive subject that has been tossed around for centuries,
It is not. It has already been solved almost 2,000 years ago. Only some modern cults (the 19th century) try to pretend it is something still open. For Christians, the issue is long time settled. Why does your profile say you are a Christian?

From my textbook: Basics of Biblical Greek (William Mounce), chapter 6:
Basics of Biblical Greek said:
(regarding John 1:1c, " Kai Theos en ho Logos", or "And God/god was the Word"):

"We know that 'the Word' is the subject because it has the definite article.... Two questions, both of theological import, should come to mind: (1) why was Theos thrown forward? and (2) why does it lack the article? In brief, its emphatic position" (putting 'Theos' before the subject 'the Logos') "stresses it's essence or quality: 'What God was, the Word was' is how one translation brings out its force. Its lack of a definite article keeps us from identifying the person of the Word (Jesus Christ) with the person of God (the Father). That is to say, the word order tells us that Jesus Christ has all the divine attributes that the Father has; lack of the article tells us that Jesus Christ is not the Father."
The first usage of "Theos" in John 1:1b has the article ("and the Word was with God") and refers to the person of God; the second usage in 1.1c is anarthous and refers to the divine nature of God, not the person of God. This nuance is lost in most English translations.

Trinitarian theology is consistent with this rule of translation. The Father is not the Son is not the Holy Spirit. Separate persons; conflate them at your own risk. However, it's also disturbingly close to saying a Yoda-esque, "and a god the Word was".

Matthew 28:19
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name (SINGULAR) of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Guess Whose Name they baptized in. Not Father, Not Holy Spirit, JESUS!

John 14:7-10
7 "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him." 8 Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us." 9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name (SINGULAR) of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Each one is singular 1. Father 2.Son 3. Holy Spirit = 3
Simple counting
Like at the end of epistles......God AND our Lord Jesus Christ.
And Yeshua AND His God Yahweh....
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2nd Corinthians 13:14

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17

Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, “and” one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist. 1st Corinthians 8:6

"Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go and tell my brothers, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God'" John 20:17

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?” that is, “MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?” Matthew 27:46

According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you. 1st Peter 1:2

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with a love incorruptible. Ephesians 6:23-24

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. Brothers and sisters, pray for us. Greet all God’s people with a holy kiss. I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 1st Thessalonians 5:23-28

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teachings of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teachings, he has both the Father and the Son. 2nd John 1:9

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17

But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. John 15:26

4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:4-6

To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Greet all God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send greetings. All God’s people here send you greetings, especially those who belong to Caesar’s household. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. Philippians 4:20-23

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Philemon 1:25

Now to Him who is able to protect you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Matthew 11:27

For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Matthew 12:50

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 16:17

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:10

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:19

And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father. Matthew 20:23

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matthew 24:36

But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom. Matthew 26:29

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matthew 26:39

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? Matt 26:53

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? Luke 2:49

And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise. John 2:16

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2

@Grailhunter and @Jack

You both are correct!

However @Grailhunter must recognize that the word for God is Elohim/Plural and therefore the FATHER/WORD/HOLY SPIRIT are ONE

@Jack you correctly pointed to the One Name that Saves us = LORD JESUS CHRIST

@Grailhunter = the One Name has all 3 Persons contained in it = LORD(FATHER) + JESUS(SALVATION) + CHRIST(ANNOINTED ONE)

Genesis 1:1
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Not Gods!
Correct = not 3 Gods

There is Echad(One) Elohim(Plural) = but not as Grailhunter suspects

The Apostle John understood the TRUTH and therefore HE revealed Genesis 1:1-3 in John 1:1

John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word/Logos, and the Word/Logos was with God, and the Word/Logos was God = 3

All 3 Logos are in Genesis ch1

In the beginning ELOHIM created the heavens and the earth.
The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.
And the SPIRIT of Elohim was hovering over the face of the waters.
Then Elohim SAID(WORD)

Elohim said "Let Us make man in Our image according to Our likeness"

John identifies all 3 Logos in the Gospel = John chapter 3 = ALL 3 Logos are declared = JESUS, SPIRIT, FATHER

Jesus/Logos answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit/Logos, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

For God/FATHER/Logos so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son

Without 3 no one could be SAVED

Why don't you deal with individual Scriptures instead of 'smoke screening' like JW's?

Because I "deal" with the Bible as a whole and do not look to cherry pick to prove my point.
The one god formula is not biblical.
The four gospels show two God working together....talking to each other....refering to each other.
50 My Father scriptures some of them My Father in Heaven.
Christ ascended to His Father
Christ statement....the Father is greater than I.
Yahweh knowing the end of time and Yeshua did not.
Yeshua not having the authority to grant John and James mother's request for her sons to sit on the right and left of Yeshua.
The one God formula is a Roman Catholic doctrine.

Only ONE God, not 3.

All you have are your opinions. They do not overrule the Bible.

@Grailhunter and @Jack

You both are correct!

However @Grailhunter must recognize that the word for God is Elohim/Plural and therefore the FATHER/WORD/HOLY SPIRIT are ONE

@Jack you correctly pointed to the One Name that Saves us = LORD JESUS CHRIST

@Grailhunter = the One Name has all 3 Persons contained in it = LORD(FATHER) + JESUS(SALVATION) + CHRIST(ANNOINTED ONE)

And that is why Yahweh said I am the only god and no one like me.

The Old Testament shows the actions of one God.

I have not given my opinions.
Scriptures are not opinions and there are over a hundred that prove the one God formula wrong.
