Even very by-the-book Christians are modifying
their views on hell, or the afterlife.

As the previous trend for fire-and-brimstone preaching has all but gone the way of the dinosaur.
Leaning toward a more personalized stance on "eternal separation from God". (whatever that means to you)

- What's your definition of hell?
- How do you see the final judgment playing out?
- Will everyone be saved in the end?
- Will the Lord who taught us to love our enemies incinerate his?

- What's your definition of hell?

Hell is literally one of 2 Eternal Destinations......the other being Heaven.

God, became a man, to provide the only way to Heaven, and that is through the Cross of Christ.
if this is not encounted and chosen by the sinner before they die, then the unforgiven sinner enters into the other eternal destination which becomes their eternal life.

"Now is the day of Salvation".......now is the opportunity to become born again, as you can't be be born again in Hell.

"all who give God their faith in Christ".....shall be saved......and that has to happen before you die.

As you can see the gospel itself is under attack . they always want to bring in universal salvation .
But the sheep know full well
WHAT JESUS said and its HIM the sheep shall beleive and heed .

The scriptures define it as a eternal fiery torment.
The Old Testament did not include a belief in Hell or the Devil so the Jews did not and do not believe in Hell or the Devil

A place of eternal fiery torment was new information in the New Testament so there was not a word for it, that is why they used examples like Gehenna and descriptions of eternal fire and sometime used the Greek word Hades and changed its definition. Hades is actually a Greek god that reigned over a underworld prison, no fire. The word Hell came out in the Anglo Saxon around the 8th century.

The scriptures do not provide too many details on Hell. Either Hell is so bad that we cannot comprehend it so they used the worst thing.....standing in fire for eternity Most of the details and imagery about Hell that is running around in people's heads and movies come from a 1320, poet Dante Alighieri published “The Divine Comedy” which described Hell in great detail with illustrations. In 1667, poet John Milton published his book(s) Paradise Lost which included ten volumes of books which were heavily illustrated and a lot of descriptions of Hell. So these sources kind of filled in the blanks for Christians as to what Hell was like and the images thereof. Know for sure that Hell or something worse exists.

many things are taught about it . The lake of fire .
Many teach this about it and others say it dont exist , some say its forever and ever
and still others say this or that .
YOU wanna know what i KNOW for sure and for certain .
AINT ONE SOUL wants to end up there .
AND I KNOW how to ensure one wont . ITS KNOWN AS TIME to PREACH JESUS , the real JESUS
the TRUE GOSPEL , HIS words and lovely biblical doctrine .
CAUSE I KNOW a sheep wont end up there . So to those who teach universal this or that
or whatever else they so desire to teach
I SAY TEACH N PREACH JESUS and lets not add to or take from that book .
There are two endings for a soul . EITHER ITS ETERNAL LIFE IN JESUS CHRIST
or tis the bad place that not one soul is gonna enjoy at all .
WE BESS BIBLE UP . WE BESS PREACH THE TRUE JESUS , HIS WORDS the apostels words , BELEIVING what is written
and not rather trying to twist it . REAL SIMPLE if ya ask me . but many do and many teach
and many rather choose to beleive what suits their flesh . AND BOY that aint gonna bode well for them
ON THE DAY OF THE LORD .

Don't you believe that sinners send themselves there?
If so, why would they send themselves where NO ONE wants to go?
they love a lie of course .
Come now how many folks do you know that love their sin .
THEY Love the darkness
all who hate ME love death . ever head GOD say that . HE DID .
now of course we would or might say , We dont love death .
BUT OH YES THEY DO they just dont realize it .
SO st steven , as a man of the LORD i gotta do what i gotta do .
You have a real short time my friend .
YA BETTER REPENT of this right now . Better to do so
than to face the consequences . Just saying this cause i desire only good for you . but YOU
my friend took the wrong fork in the road . And its high time you get off that path and on the TRUE PATH .
Again i desire only good for you . better heed and better repent .

I believe they work themselves there, but all are supposed to be sinnners, because an all or the all have sinned. I don't believe Job feel short the glory of God most of the time. God is a fan of mankind, not Satan.

Job was a righteous man, the opposite of a sinner. His friends were the bad example.
I agree. But this is a doctrinal question.

Romans 3:22-24 NIV
This righteousness is given through faith in[a] Jesus Christ to all who believe.
There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 and all are justified freely by his grace through
the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

#1. Hell is a word derived (most recently) from the Old English word hel or helle, which appeared around 725 AD to refer to a netherworld of the dead. But before the Old English, it came from the Proto-Germanic *haljō, which meant a "concealed place," and ultimately from the Proto-Indo-European root *kel-, which meant "to cover, conceal".

The concept of "hell" as a place of eternal punishment developed later, influenced by Roman church theology and writings, like Dante's Inferno. The Germanic, European and Dante sources were all 3 of pagan origin. And the 'church' that began to weave this pagan hell into the theology of the day, was the catholic church in Rome. This began in the 2nd century initially.
According to those facts I find it sad that people actually think Hell was a word that literally came out of the mouth of Jesus 725 years before it was even a word.
Final answer to the question? I would say it is a poorly defined word.

#2
To the glory of God.
#3 All spirits saved by the cross of Jesus. All souls saved by the cross of every man. And our souls will be saved to the
degree that our flesh was crucified to walk in righteousness.
#4 The only thing that could be "incinerated" would be the dead flesh. Spirit and soul wouldn't even burn.

What's your definition of hell?

What?
A Place.

Where?
Deep IN the Earth.

Purpose?
Temporarily Separating.

Temporarily Separating What?
* Particular Celestial spirits From access to Heaven, access to Earth’s Surface.
* Departed (from its dead body) saved living souls.
* Departed (from its dead body) unsaved living souls.

Why?
Allow Gods Pleasure and Will of His Prophetic Plan, Order, Way, Manner, to be Established, Prepared and Effected.

Glory to God,
Taken
