So is this the only purpose God chose certain humans and predestined them, to be conformed to the image of his Son''? Or is there more to it?

What do you mean by "more"? Jesus is alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. Everything exists in Him. What is there to be "more" than to be conformed to His image?

I mean once we are in His image, what then? Is that when Jesus returns and in a twinkling of an eye we are completely conformed to His image? If so, then what happens next? And what's the purpose for becoming in His image?

Surly God has a purpose for doing this. Any ideas?

I do not understand your questions, good sir. If you are asking what it is like to live in heaven in the paradise of God, I can not answer you, because it is not possible to imagine in this world.

Eg. I was just thinking now of what John saw.

Why can't you or others imagine what lies ahead? If the Spirit of God knows the mind of God and is now within us doesn't He reveal to us what is to come. One of Jesus's first apostles saw way into the future seeing the new Jerusalem coming down from heaven.

Many who are possessed by the Spirit of the Creator have received revelation of God of what is going to happen.

Yet Jesus kingdom, when Satan is bound and can't deceive the nations, ON EARTH, isn't in heaven but again is on THIS EARTH. This makes it much easier to imagine. When the lions and the sheep hang out together, kids play with snakes, where there's global peace. Kindness and generosity are the norm and love is expressed in selfless random acts of kindness to all of creation.
Where King Jesus is respected by everyone everywhere on this planet. Where we who are chosen to serve in Jesus government will serve as kings and priests over every tongue, tribe, people and nation. Until the Global President puts everything under His feet, even death.
