Why do we need the church to TELL us what we believe?
Must we surrender our right to our own beliefs to be a part of the church?

There is even a famous book titled: Know What You Believe
Which is there to inform you of what you haven't a clue about.
Brainwashing, obviously.

Not to say that there isn't a need for religious training, but...
this approach leaves MUCH to be desired.

Saw this video of John MacArthur lamenting the sorry state of Evangelicalism in 2022. (video below)
Ligonier ministries had done a survey of Evangelicals. The findings, per MacArthur, were "shocking".

65% of Evangelicals agreed that everyone is born innocent.
55% agreed that the Bible is not literally true.
56% agreed that God accepts worship from all religions.
43% agreed that Jesus was a good teacher, but not God.

"Evangelicals have absolutely no idea what they believe." - John MacArthur

Really? It seems as if the survey results TOLD you EXACTLY what they believe.
How can you claim that they "have absolutely no idea what they believe"?

So here's the BIG question...
Why do we need the church to TELL us what we believe?

if you dont know the answer by know ..you may not be part of the true Church.. if one attends a baptist Church ( there are several different types baptist ) the Church one attends is a church a body that you can identify with.. the only surrender is to Christ, the Church is a hospital a sanctuary /safe haven a family reunion (time of fellowship ) its also a place of feeding.. a information center.

the Church i pastor i dont tell them what to believe. i only give them Bible

There is no consensus about what the Bible means.
All you have is your own biased view to offer.
People say "Bible" as if it is a singular message.
thank you for that confirmation .. you pretty much proved your self by this ..
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4. your blind and deaf

We know what YOU believe, and it ain't the Bible.

Quoting YOU: "no wonder I don't trust the Bible".

See how God revealed your heart for all to witness!

Christians dont need a church or a pope to "tell them what to believe".
They instead need the BIBLE and Paul's Theology revealed by the Holy Spirit., and also find a church that understands this, teaches this, and you are good to go.
Otherwise, you're in the wrong church.

you have showed your true colors. a person who is saved /a christian is not perfect just forgiven. it saddens me to see you spew such trash . i would hope you would see the need to turn to CHRIST ..SEE that is one of the soul purpose of the Church.. point others in the right direction to Jesus who came to seek and save the Lost

How can you claim that they "have absolutely no idea what they believe"?
If we reverse the percentages, what do we get? (hope my math is correct) - LOL

35% of Evangelicals DIS-agreed that everyone is born innocent.
45% DIS-agreed that the Bible is not literally true.
44% DIS-agreed that God accepts worship from all religions.
67% DIS-agreed that Jesus was a good teacher, but not God.

So here's the BIG question...
Why do we need the church to TELL us what we believe?

first off He is not the authority of scripture 2nd the only real book you need is the Bible, so while your rambling on about a dead preacher who was dire hard Calvinist. here is some advice for you that was passed on to me years ago.. preaching is like eating chicken eat the meat throw the bones away

"Evangelicals have absolutely no idea what they believe." - John MacArthur

that was bones John MacArthur does not fit my program nor does Calvinism. now you can stop your rambling all you have accomplished is embarrassing your self. btw don't lump all Christians in the same basket

another rule of thumb for you its one Lord one Faith one Baptism that works in and through all .

had you took time out to explain you might have saved your self .. no body wants to take you serious
