Greetings again GodsGrace,
The Trinity was developed in the first 3 or 4 Centuries and is a corruption of true Christianity.
Here is what a student of John and Peter believed....
He believed Jesus is God.
Thus the Trinity was from the beginning...
it was just DECLARED true at the Council of Nicea in 325AD.
And why?
Because there were gnostics and arians teaching what the Apostles did not teach.
They were teaching heresy....
In his first letter John states that they went out from us because they were not of us.
1 John 2:19
While John was still living, he worried about the heresies that were already circulating in the first century.
Heresies to which you adhere.
So, it became necessary to have a council in order to declare what the church believed.
The CHURCH....
NOT heretics and those that would have happily divided it.
Simple church history teaches this.
If you do not accept church history, it is your right...
but you cannot peddle off on the people of the Christian faith.
Here is what Ignatius of Antioch believed...
He was taught this by John and by Peter.
If you don't believe the Apostles,,,you don't believe scripture.
Please notice that he wrote the following in 107AD
Please notice:
JESUS CHRIST OUR GOD
THE BLOOD OF GOD
ONE PHYSICIAN WHO IS BOTH FLESH AND SPIRIT - BORN AND UNBORN - GOD IN MAN
OUR GOD JESUS CHRIST
GOD APPEARED IN HUMAN FORM
OUR GOD JESUS CHRIST
THE ONE WHO IS ABOVE TIME, THE INVISIBLE WHO BECAME VISIBLE
Do we believe Igantius - and many others like him -
or do we believe the source from whom YOU are learning?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ignatius (AD 50-117) was the bishop at the church in Antioch and also a disciple of John the Apostle. He wrote a series of letters to various churches on his way to Rome, where he was to be martyred. He writes,
Ignatius, who is also Theophorus, unto her which hath been blessed in greatness through the plentitude of God the Father; which hath been foreordained before the ages to be for ever unto abiding and unchangeable glory, united and elect in a true passion, by the will of the Father and of Jesus Christ our God; even unto the church which is in Ephesus [of Asia], worthy of all felicitation: abundant greeting in Christ Jesus and in blameless joy.2
Being as you are imitators of God, once you took on new life through the blood of God you completed perfectly the task so natural to you.3
There is only one physician, who is both flesh and spirit, born and unborn, God in man, true life in death, both from Mary and from God, first subject to suffering and then beyond it, Jesus Christ our Lord.4
For our God, Jesus the Christ, was conceived by Mary according to God’s plan, both from the seed of David and of the Holy Spirit.5
Consequently all magic and every kind of spell were dissolved, the ignorance so characteristic of wickedness vanished, and the ancient kingdom was abolished when God appeared in human form to bring the newness of eternal life.6
For our God Jesus Christ is more visible now that he is in the Father.7
Wait expectantly for the one who is above time: the Eternal, the Invisible, who for our sake became visible; the Intangible, the Unsuffering, who for our sake suffered, who for our sake endured in every way.
Jesus was condemned because he claimed to be the Son of God, not God the Son.
Explain the difference.
It is God THE Son.
NOT a son.
God's son would be God...
nature creates nature.
Except that Jesus is not a created being...
He always was,
as John explains in
John 1:1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
God was "in the beginning". (there is no beginning with God).
And then THE WORD,,,,which was with God from the beginning and was God from the beginning....
became flesh.
John 1:14
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us,
And John passed on this information to those whom he taught....
for example Ignatius of Antioch.
