I follow all that. What I don't understand is how that relates to the scripture in question.
1 Corinthians 13:12 NIV
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
Many who say they have faith in Jesus have latched onto or subscribe to an understanding of God which is less than best and how they relate to others at the coal face reveals it. In spite of their 'crippled' view of God they are nevertheless loved. They have refused to let this love into their reality. One could say they see through a very dark glass.
God's objective is to enlighten all on his nature. Jesus has come for that purpose. However, as said, many deliberately maintain their crippled views (although not considered crippled by themselves) become enemies of the Gospel.
The story told by Jesus of the sheep and the goats ie, those on his left and those on his right illustrate this.(Matthew 25:31-46)
Those on his left were persuaded they had a right to God's Kingdom. Their idea of God's Kingdom being alien to Jesus' idea....as revealed in the questions they asked, ie 'when did we see you hungry or thirsty or homeless' etc. Jesus' qualification is, 'what you have done to the least, you have done it to me'. Yes, they saw very darkly.....oblivious to Jesus being present in the disadvantaged.
Those on his right however were unaware of the kindnesses shown to Jesus in the person of the hungry, thirsty and homeless, etc.
These acted naturally out of their understanding of
how God's kindness was shown them in Jesus. They mirrored Jesus' compassion for 'the least'......and although their understanding of the
unspeakable kindness of God was also dimmer than it could have been, they are drawn to and employed its principles.
One group has a head full of information which they try to justify through talk, the other group put their hands to the plough and engage the real struggles of people living in an unjust society.
