In the brief moment after God created the body of Adam, his pulmonary system was yet to be activated by God. In other words, the air pressure within Adam's lungs was equal to the atmospheric air pressure outside of him.
All God had to do was cause Adam's pulmonary muscles of his lungs to contract, of which would cause a vacuum in Adam's lungs, thus causing his pulmonary muscles to respond, by expanding the lungs to refill them with Oxygenated air, aka "the breath of life"
