He commanded Israel to keep the Sabbath from the top of Sinai. Are you not a member of Israel? I am aware that many would claim that the ten commandments were only for the nation of Israel. But you and I know that's a lie. We know that's a lie because every person on the planet is guilty of sin. And sin is transgression of the law. If the law didn't apply to everyone, then not everyone are sinners. And we both know that the law applies to you, because you would call the police if you came home to find your home emptied of its furniture, and you would press charges against thieves, stealers, robbers, if they were identified. So the commandments of Jesus apply to everyone.... the obligation to obey God commandments apply to everyone, especially those who claim to love Him. They are without excuse, unlike those who have never heard of Him, nevertheless, even they may not escape judgment. Don't neglect differentiating between what is clearly universal law and laws that applied to the nation. The laws that applied only to the nation...the civil laws, the sanctuary service laws etc... were given as a direct result of transgressing the laws of God encapsulated in the Ten. They were designed to deal with the sin problem. They were the shadows of Christ's redemptive ministry. There were specific annual sabbaths that were shadows. The weekly Sabbath was not a shadow. The annual sabbaths were given as a cure and remedial exercises for the sin problem, of which the desecration of the weekly Sabbath formed a major part. Open your eyes. Humble yourself that you may recognise the wonderful truth, the precious gift God has given to mankind through His Son, the Lord of the Sabbath. The rest we may find in Christ is real, and such a blessing. But the Sabbath is the practical realisation and demonstration that we are indeed truly resting in Him. One is incomplete without the other. Just as the physical act of adultery is incommoded without lust. And the theft of your furniture incomplete without covetousness. And a loving relationship with God incomplete with honouring His holy day.
“13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: 14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. ”

Absolutely, thank you. And the form of republican government and the constitution of the USA, was specifically designed for people such as yourself, who choose to worship God according to the dictates of your own conscience, even though you may be a minority of one.

I ask you for one place in the NEW testament where we are commanded to keep the sabbath...as I suspected, you couldn't do it.
