Crusaders were a bunch of evil warmongers.
This kind of evil behaviour is still going on today.
It's called "Killing in the Name of the Lord".

The Crusades were a series of military campaigns launched by the papacy between 1095 and 1291 against Muslim rulers for the recovery and defence of the Holy Land, encouraged by promises of spiritual reward.
The Pope was behind all of this.
Later during the Reformation 1000's were burned all across Europe.
All in the Name of Jesus Christ.

How many members registered “Christian” on Christianity Board - to say nothing about Christians around the world who are not registered on Christianity Board - aren’t “armed, ready to kill”? I don’t know, but I suspect it would be the vast majority of them.
Whatever the actual number, that’s how many @Wrangler (and his unidentified church) is asking his readers to believe “are not followers of Jesus”.

All that is necessary for evil to flourish in this world is for good men to do nothing.
See post #1637. The unarmed followers of Jesus, persecuted by the government that was tasked by God to defend them, didn’t “do nothing.“ They did something. They obeyed the teaching of Jesus and the Apostles, even unto death. They witnessed.
The ”You are not a follower of Jesus if you aren’t armed, ready to kill” teaching is shown to be false by the actions of the early Christians.
Follow their example.
Please don’t pass quickly by the painting of the persecuted Christians in the arena. As you cast your gaze upon it ask yourself this: Are these unarmed, persecuted, followers of Jesus who are about to die for their obedience of faith in Messiah Jesus “Man in form but without substance”?
I hope the reader is revolted by the thought. Where does it come from?
“Man in form but without substance” is the corollary teaching of the “You are not a follower of Jesus if you aren’t armed, ready to kill” teaching. It is taught by @Wrangler but it comes from the devil.
