You keep denying corporate responsibility and pretending Jesus teachings apply to the State.

That’s false. Jesus‘ teachings do not apply to the state. The state is established and authorized by God (see Romans 13) to wield the sword. It has the responsibility of maintaining order, including providing for the military defense of its citizens.

  1. Love your personal enemies
  2. When the State has enemies, you have responsibility to do your part.

I’m a conscientious objector and exempt from military service. I pay my taxes, part of which goes toward funding the military, to Caesar.

It's very simple.

Also, loving ones enemies does not extend to allowing yourself to be victims. This is why Christ's better way includes buying a sword.

It is very simple. “Enough of that. Put away your sword.” - Jesus

While the statistic quoted by Claiborne is dated, 58 percent of Christians don’t even own guns*; the majority of Christians aren’t “armed, ready to kill”.

* It isn’t a sin to own a gun.
Not all Christians follow all the commandments. The Crusaders represent an extraordinary level of devotion to Christian principles Jesus taught and modeled, like smiting his enemies.

Yes. My church has armed men at each doorway. It's very reassuring to know they have my back.

What is the name of your church? Does your church officially teach “You are not following Jesus if you aren’t armed, ready to kill”?

Is your church aware that you are teaching that to Christians? Has your church sent you to teach it to Christians?

The Crusdaders didn’t follow the commandment of Jesus to love their enemies.

Jesus didn’t smite his enemies. The Apostles didn’t smite their enemies. The earliest followers of Jesus didn’t smite their enemies. Jesus and the Apostles didn’t teach, nor did they model, smite your enemies.

”We do not use the weapons of the world.” The words of the Crusaders? No. The words of Apostle Paul.

I have a recommendation for you; a recommendation that I make to all: read the stories of Christian martyrs.

Under Nero and the insane emperors yes …

If what @Wrangler (and possibly the as yet unnamed / unidetified church that he attends) teaches -“You are not a follower of Jesus if you aren’t armed, ready to kill” - is the teaching of Jesus and the Apostles then why, in your opinion, didn’t those faithful and obedient Christians - Wrangler must think they were “armed, ready to kill” - who lived under “Nero and the insane emperors” act against their Roman enemies as the Crusaders acted against their Muslim enemies?

, but even then some places like Egypt faired pretty well until 280 AD under Diocletian.
By having Satan's boot on your throat I'm talking about stuff like this and worse. You know it is bad when you are forced to live in a garbage dump and make that your profession because of religious restrictions that keep you from higher paid and more sanitary occupations and places to live.

I agree.

There should be no Christian martyrs, would be no Christian martyrs, if Christians obeyed @Wrangler (and his church?) - “You are not a follower of Jesus if you aren’t armed, ready to kill.”

Another book recommendation for all, but especially for Wrangler and his unidentified church. (He might identify the name of the church he attends, but that remains to be seen.)

My church has armed men at each doorway. …

Many (certainly not all) churches do these days. What about the early Christian churches?

Do you (and your church) think / teach that the earliest Christians had “armed men at each doorway” where they gathered?

“Theodosius decreed at the ecumenical Council in Ephesus that when entering a church, all weapons were to be left outside the church.“

(Ted Bobosh, “Weapons in the Church?”)

(Theodosius would not have allowed the practice of the local Baptist Church I visited last month. Would Theodosius have killed or punished those Baptists if they attempted to enter the church with their weapons? Would Theodosius have killed or punished @Wrangler if he had attempted to enter the church with his weapons? We’ll never know in our lifetime.)

Wrangler, a hypothetical: “Christians” visiting your church show up “armed, ready to kill.” Do the gunmen stationed at each doorway of the church you attend let them in?

Do you (and your church) believe and teach that Jesus did not allow himself to be a victim? Do you (and your church) believe and teach that the Apostles did not allow themselves to be victims? Do you (and your church) believe and teach that the Christian martyrs did not allow themselves to be victims?

Model Jesus @ Rev 19
The rider wore a robe that was covered with[a] blood*, and he was known as “The Word of God.” 14 He was followed by armies from heaven that rode on white horses and were dressed in pure white linen. 15 From his mouth a sharp sword went out to attack the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod and will show the fierce anger of God All-Powerful by trampling the grapes in the pit where wine is made. 16 On the part of the robe that covered his thigh was written, “KING OF KINGS AND Lord OF LordS.”
* NOTE: It doesn't say it was his blood.

And what have I told you time and again? Wait for Jesus.

John is describing events in this passage that are still, even in our day, set in the future.

Tracking, tracking, tracking. From my X / Twitter “For you” feed this afternoon -

“God has instituted four types of governance - self, family, church, state.

And all governance requires subduing rebellion:

The sinful flesh.
Unsubmissive household members.
False teachers, subversives & wolves.
Criminals, anarchists & traitors.”

(Zachary Garris)

The pastor is a Presbyterian. I’m a retired pastor, Restoration Church of God Abrahamic Faith.

At this point it has become obvious that @Wrangler is hiding his church affiliation from his readers.

  1. When the State has enemies, you have responsibility to do your part.

The story of World War I

You haven’t learned the lesson. This is the misery that you are urging upon Christianity and the world.

You are not my teacher but a fool who draws the wrong lessons from Scripture, history integrity and ethics.

I’m a minister of the gospel of peace.

You’re concealing the name of your cult from your readers. I think you know what is going to happen if that information is made public.

Ask. Seek. Knock. Buy a sword. Carry your cross and follow Jesus. Heaven helps those who help themselves. …. No waiting.

Don’t be modest. How many of your enemies have you actually killed? A rough estimate is fine.

How many of them did you kill yesterday? How many of them have you killed today?

No waiting. How many of your enemies will you kill tomorrow?
