We either have eternal life or we do not.

If you can lose it, do you have to get born again, again? Ridiculous.

1 John 5

11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
Who decides if we have eternal life? you? me? based on what criteria? when is it secure? the moment we believe?, is it a single one moment event? these are the questions;

There is confusion because many try to turn salvation into a single moment or a fixed formula. But when we listen to Jesus, we see something more living and simple. Salvation is from God, it begins when a person truly turns to Him, and it is kept by continuing with Him until the end.

Who decides?

Jesus shows that it begins with God. It is the Father who draws a person.

John 6:44 (ASV)
“No man can come to me, except the Father that sent me draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day.”

So no one comes by his own strength alone. God calls, God draws. But Jesus also shows that a person must respond. Many are called, but not all answer.

Matthew 22:14 (ASV)
“For many are called, but few chosen.”

This means the call is wide, but only those who respond and remain are chosen.

Jesus not only says that judgment is given to Him, He also explains how He will judge. It is by His own words.

John 12:48 (ASV)
“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day.”

Clearly, Jesus is the judge. Not us!

By what standard? By His words.

This means no one will be judged by human opinions, traditions, or claims. The measure will be what Jesus said and whether a person received it and lived by it.

It also connects with what He said before about abiding:

John 8:31 (ASV)
“If ye abide in my word, then are ye truly my disciples.”

So His words are not only for teaching, they are the standard of judgment. If a person hears them and keeps them, he stands. If he hears and rejects them, those same words stand against him.

This makes everything simple and serious at the same time.
Salvation is not only about saying we believe, but about receiving His words, holding on to them, and living by them.

When does salvation begin?

It begins when a person truly turns to God with repentance and belief. Not just words, but from the heart.

John 5:24 (ASV)
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life.”

Here Jesus speaks in the present. “Hath eternal life.” So there is a real beginning. A person passes from death to life when they truly believe.

But this is the beginning of a walk, not the end of the journey.

Is salvation something already finished?

Jesus speaks of it as something that must continue.

Matthew 24:13 (ASV)
“But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.”

Notice He speaks of being saved at the end. This shows that salvation is also something future. A person must endure. If he turns back and does not remain, he does not reach the end.

Jesus gives a clear warning about this:

John 15:6 (ASV)
“If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.”

So a person can be “in Him” and yet must remain. If he does not abide, he is cut off. This shows salvation is not something to take lightly.

Jesus speaks this clearly in the book of Book of Revelation. He connects endurance with receiving the promise at the end.

Revelation 2:26 (ASV)
“And he that overcometh, and he that keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give authority over the nations:”
Here you can see the same pattern as in His other teachings.
To “overcome” means to remain faithful.
To “keepeth my works unto the end” means to continue in obedience, not just begin.
There is also another strong and simple verse:

Revelation 3:11 (ASV)
“I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no one take thy crown.”
This shows the same idea. What has been received must be held on to. It is not something to drop or neglect.

So, In Revelation just like in the Gospels, Jesus teaches that what matters is not only how we start, but that we hold fast and endure to the end.

ANyone wanna tell me why i am seeing the lie of anti christ being embraced and seen as love .
WHY i am seeing folks believing GOD IS FINE with other religoins . ANTI CHRIST LIE .
WHY am i also seeing folks running to a rainbow jesus , a money preaching jesus , again A LIE .
THE KEY is ARE WE T RULY HIS .
AND Now for the real simple test .
OPEN bible . SEE whose words WE BELIEVE . OR do we beleive rather MEN that twist such words , omitting some words
And all in favor of another jesus . ITS ALL in vain . MANY worship GOD , CHRIST in VAIN .
THEY do so through the precepts and doctriens of men . ALWAYS twisting and omitting warnings
or other teachings in favor of some man made doctrine . lets MAKE the calling and election sure .
MAKE SURE ITS JESUS we l oved and obeyed and beleived and later the aposetles doctrine .
For many twist doctrine unto their own destruction .
NOW i hope that encouraged you so much you do a somersault , IF of course , you are able to do one . I cannot . but hey some can .

So, In Revelation just like in the Gospels, Jesus teaches that what matters is not only how we start, but that we hold fast and endure to the end.
for we are made partakers of Christ IF we hold fast the confidence firm to THE END .
oh yeah they all warned the church of the dire need TO CONTINUE to the end . And as you so lovely wrote
JESUS HIMSELF had warned them FIRST .

I am OSAS, and via my FREEWILL I chose to Commit…

Because… my confession to the Lord, WAS True… according to Gods Way and Order, I received His Gift Offering….
That which is KEPT Preserved By His Power, not mine.

Albeit some…individuals DO, go to an “altar call”… participate in that ritual…(ignorantly), as a “performance” To “impress”, “trick”, “fool”, an observer, But do Not Fool God….
And thus, sure there are … thousands of Christian congregations that have “frauds” sitting amongst them…(for all kinds of reasons, from keeping peace in the family unit to having a ready made business list for potential work solicitation)…
They are “not saved”… but mingle about, use their “church membership as an advantage”and will be plucked out, when it becomes obvious they did not receive or are wearing a prepared white Godly issued wedding garment.

Salvation is A Gift Offering.

They who AGREE to Receive that Offering,
DO SO , while Alive in their natural Flesh.

They Who RECEIVE the Gift Offering of Salvation…
RECEIVE their Gift…
After a bodily Death.

Very ODD For they who OPPOSE “OSAS”…
Never…
* Reveal How Many Times…They Bodily Died, Received their Gift….OR How While Dead, Rejected
Or Lost Their Gift.

Glory to God,
Taken
I had no choice, Jesus chose me. I was at my house and Jesus came to me. I wasn't at church, nor did I attend a church. It was a regular day, until Jesus touched me.

Example of biblical evangelism, where salvation is simply based on believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul and Silas taught the Word to them so they would better understand who Jesus is, to enable them to believe on our precious Savior.

Acts 16

29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

Me too my friend .
But allow me story time about my own self . And again this is probably gonna t errify this sensual generation of chrsitendom .
At age f our i had heard the gospel . beleive it enough as i could at that age .
Again at age eight i went forth and did the Lords prayer .
Again at age fourteen i walked down to recieve salvation at an e vent .
Now in the marines i clearly remember my friend joey talking to an atheist and telling him he must beleive on JESUS .
SO i joined my friend and said the same . WHICH was truth i told him .
But the athiest saw right through the both of us . Sadly i think even the athiest had better morals THAN EITHER ONE OF US DID .
I was a lip only . Had the three of us died that night , PHEW WEE , I AM just thankful to GOD we didnt .
cause both us christains and that atheist WOULD NOT HAVE Liked what we GOT TOLD BY GOD on judgement day .
Now years went by . I even gave to the poor . YES . YES I DID .
STILL i loved my sin , still i chased those women . still i had some morals .
BUT again I DID NOT KNOW HIM .
Now on may theirtieth of two thousand and six , THAT ALL CHANGED . AND YES IT WAS GOD WHO DREW ME .
And the heart was CONVERTED . HE DID THAT . not me . HE DID .
But many in christendom walk just like i once did , LOST in sin and yet still able to quoate the gospel , IF and when it was needed .

many act like the GOD of the old test and their jesus , notice i said their jesus , ARE AT ODDS with one another .
OR that somehow JESUS came to save us FROM THE ANGRY GOD of the old test .
BUT NO SIR . HE actually came to save us FROM THE RIGHTEOUS WRATH OF GOD WE ALL DESERVED
and TO MAKE US ALL THE CHILDREN OF THIS GOD .
IN fact their image of this jesus contradicts THE JESUS And HIS WORDS HE even spoke .
In fact ITS impossible for JESUS and GOD to be at odds with one another .
In the beginning was THE WORD
and the WORD was with GOD
and the WORD was GOD . THAT IS WHO SAVED US RIGHT THERE . GOD DID .

Exactly, due to Romans 10:9,10

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

And, as you say, if we are saved, born again, our lives will reflect the influence of the Holy Spirit — we will hate sin and stop indulging in various lusts, worldliness, and fears…as we combat our flesh and renew our minds.

Who decides if we have eternal life?

Ultimately God, Because He Decided the Requirements, He MADE the Offering, He verifies the Requirements are MET.

Additionally INDIVIDUALS, who decide, who Freely Choose to Accept Gods Offering, According to Gods Order and Way..(requirements)

based on what criteria?

Gods Order and Way.

when is it secure?

Once it is RECEIV-ED.

the moment we believe?

No.

is it a single one moment event?

Learning ABOUT God, Christ the Lord Jesus, His Gift offering of Salvation, what that is, means…. Is typically a process of a few years to many years for an average person.

The WAY / of literal Receiving Salvation iS Quick for some, who Commit.

And can be Very lengthly for believers, who do NOT commit, and hang their anticipation on HOPE.

these are the questions;

There is confusion because many try to turn salvation into a single moment or a fixed formula.

There is a “formula” of Sorts, called Gods Order and Way.
The Gift Is His Offering…
The Way is His Way…

It is a “contract”, an individual can freely agree with, Take according to Gods Way…
Or decline, and Not receive His Gift He bought, paid for, and offered to every man, not Marked/Sealed unto to a different god.

Glory to God,
Taken

exactly my friend . For God has given us a new heart . IT is he who worketh through us
what is PLEASING IN HIS SIGHT . and we both know SIN IS NOT PLEASING IN HIS SIGHT .
SIN is of the flesh , yet many STILL walk AFTER THE FLESH .
WHen i say many i speak of christendom , cause all unbelivers still walk after the flesh .
What DID paul say . IF any man has NOT the SPIRIT of CHRIST then he is NONE OF HIS . as i once was .
AND if one has the SPIRIT then the body is dead because of SIN .
Shall we continue in SIN . GOD forbid .
MANY , my friend still walk after the flesh . NOT only do they do so , THEY EVEN JUSTIFY THEIR SINS
for all to see . Holding rainbows , saying GOD IS LOVE , but knowing NEITHER GOD OR HIS LOVE .
Claiming to have the SPIRIT
but not having the PROOF . FOR what is the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT and WHAT DOES IT DO .
WELL lets see what the bible says shall we .
FOR the fruit of the SPIRIT is in all goodness , righteousness and T RUTH
proving what is acceptable to .............not the world and the changing views of it , BUT TO GOD HIMSELF .
TOo many love a jesus that accepts SIN . that one cannot save them at all .

The whole prison heard Paul and Silas singing hymns, Acts 16:25. That shows the power of God's word in song. The church needs more of that.

I die daily . yep . we hate sin , we fight against the various lusts of the flesh .
And if any do err or sin , we had corrected such a one . confess and repent .
There is a godly pattern for all th ings . The apostels left us in the bible .
but many have become as what came upon the israelites and jerusalem .
WHAT did GOD tell them . YE have become as sodom unto me
Ye no longer hide your sins but EVEN CELEBRATE THEM IN THE S TREETS .
THEY ARE JUSTIFY SINS NOW . its only getting worse my friend .
THe pattern of the early ch urch was TO KEEP LEAVEN OUT
and they had a method for doing so .
BuT under the method of the seeker friendly judge not correct not , THE LEAVEN was allowed to remain
and thus the leaven GREW AND GREW and has leavend them up pretty full now .
Those who sin rebuke before all that others may fear
BECAME those who sin , DONT JUDGE , SHUT UP we all sin , just hug . AND MAN was that a mistake .

that is not fair, everyone can speak and should not be silenced, let the truth be told.

Sure everybody likes FAIR…. To love, hate, gaslight, badger, speak whatever they please.

Scripture is neither easy or simple or appeasing to the Carnal Mind.

The Carnal Mind concludes by weighing a logical choice.
There is nothing Logical about believing in something…
A man can not, see, hear, smell, taste, touch.

Scripture is Knowledge and the Understanding thereof, is According to God and what Is JUST.

it aint my way , ya pastors way , ITS GODS WAY . OPEN them bibles up and let us be refreshed .
For many follow men . they have all along and did not know it .
And what scrips they do know they were trained to see throu gh the lens OF a teaching of man . and boy they sure did twist it too .
But open that bible and let us see who it is we have truly been believing and been following .
