Read Romans 13 again and remember when you do that the apostle who wrote it also wrote, “We [Christians] do not use the weapons of the world.”

1779631992396.jpeg

Paul wrote that to the followers of Jesus, not to the pagan Roman government @NayborBear.

The followers of Jesus and the apostles didn’t harm their unbelieving neighbors, no matter how much harm their unbelieving neighbors inflicted on them.

You are not following Jesus if you aren’t armed, ready to kill.” - @Wrangler

That’s not the teaching of Jesus and the apostles.

Killing enemies isn’t loving enemies; it’s harming enemies.

“Some of the most violent and destructive periods for Jews included the Crusades, the Inquisitions, and widespread pogroms.”

(Ed Gaskin, “Jewish Persecution: The Crusades, the Inquisition, and Pogroms”)

@Wrangler @Armour of God @NayborBear

I read Romans 9 on Thursday, on Friday and on Saturday last week. I will read it again today, on Monday, on Tuesday and on Wednesday this week. It’s a portion of my intensive daily Bible reading plan this year.

I ask you to take one minute of your time today to read what Paul says in Romans 9:1-5.

Had Paul lived at the time of the Crusades, would he have joined them?

“We do not use the weapons of the world.” - Paul

Paul is a Jew. Had he lived at the time of the Crusades, he would not have joined the crusaders.

Paul is a Jew. Had he lived at the time of the Crusades, he would not have used a sword to defend himself nor others from the onslaught of the crusaders.

@Wrangler has said - and has confirmed that he has said - Jesus is a liar. You’re going along with a man and a concealed identity church - a death cult - that is leading people to destruction in the of fire.

No one who teaches others that Jesus is a liar is for Jesus and the apostles. Such a person is against Jesus and the apostles.

My unsolicited advice: get far away from any person or organization which calls Jesus a liar.
Yanno? I have heard your relentless adulation's of: "Jesus and the Apostles!"............."Jesus and the Apostles!"

Now? I would like you to turn to MOST, if not all the N.T. books included in your "Canonized" Bible and simply "feast yer peepers" on just HOW OFTEN did these Apostles and Disciple of Jesus "paid homage" TO THE FATHER AND GOD of Jesus Christ!

Why don't, or WON'T you "include:" The FATHER AND GOD of Jesus and the Apostles? :contemplate: Because THEY sure did!

Afraid that would go against YOUR "narrative?"
Which gives my statement of YOU treating the God AND FATHER of Jesus Christ of Nazareth like "Chopped Liver", a whole lot more credibility!
What have you AGAINST the GOD AND FATHER of Jesus Christ AND the Apostles anyway? :contemplate:

And whilst yer "feasting yer peepers?"
Try to keep THIS verse in mind:

Psalms 110:1
The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, UNTIL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES THEY FOOTSTOOL.

It goes without saying - even though I have said it - that I do just as the apostles and earliest followers of Jesus did.

You haven’t grasped yet that teaching others to believe Jesus lied - which is what @Wrangler and his concealed identity church do - is against the God and Father of Jesus Christ and the apostles (and me and billions of others.)

I turn to all of the New Testament and pay homage to the Father and God of Jesus Christ.

“Jesus lied” isn’t paying homage to the Father and God of Jesus Christ. It’s the opposite.

No. It is my teaching, my preaching, my practice, my narrative.

“Jesus lied” is a doctrine of demons @NayborBear. Why haven’t you spoken against it? Are you a member of the concealed identity church which @Wrangler represents?

“The apostles taught us that Jesus lied.”

AI wouldn’t stand for it @Wrangler @NayborBear @Armour of God

”The apostles taught the exact opposite. Throughout the New Testament, they consistently portray Jesus as the ultimate truth. Figures like Peter, John, and Paul placed such extreme emphasis on His truthfulness that they endured severe persecution and execution defending His message rather than admitting to a lie.” -AI Overview

Someone is terribly wrong, and it isn’t AI.

“The earliest followers of Jesus were all Jewish, so at first there was no particular term for their sect. In general, they were known as ‘Nazarenes’ (see Acts 24:5), meaning followers of the teacher from Nazareth. The term Christian is first used in Acts 11:26. The followers of Rabbi Jesus believed the Messiah had come in his person, and that his crucifixion and resurrection were signposts of his imminent return to earth to declare the Kingdom f God. Later, they were referred to as Notzim, a Hebrew word from Isaiah 11:1 meaning ‘branch.’ The Notzrim were followers of the one they believed to be ‘the Branch,’ a poetic appellation for the Messiah.

In general, the Nazarenes did not support active resistance to the Romans, since they were certain that the Messiah would be returning any day. … This placed followers of Jesus in direct opposition to the activism of the Zealots and to those who actively opposed the Empire.”

(Rabbi David Zaslow, Jesus: First-Century Rabbi, pp. 48-49)

The earliest followers of Jesus weren’t “armed, ready to kill;” the Zealots and other Jewish sects were. (The wars of the Jews ensued, and they were soundly defeated by the Empire; the Temple destroyed.)

@Wrangler @Armour of God @NayborBear

Time passes. The followers of Jesus remained obedient to his teaching and the teaching of the apostles under severe persecution until …

… the shift occurred in the 4th century, which you deny.

“For two thousand years, neither religion has talked much to the other. … The church and its leaders usually despised Judaism (tolerated it at best), and Judaism pretty much did all it could to avoid and ignore Christianity along with its Romanized, Prometheus-like conquering Christ. While the church was busy constantly trying to convert the Jews, the Jews found themselves perpetually on the run from missionaries and ‘soldiers of Christ’ who followed Constantine’s vision of the cross turned into a sword.”

(Rabbi David Zaslow, Jesus: First-Century Rabbi, p. 43)

@Wrangler @Armour of God @NayborBear

Rabbi Zaslow is sympathetic to Jesus and Christianity but doesn’t believe Jesus is the Messiah. Listen to how he describes the Jewish experience with Christianity from the time of Constantine. In light of the persecution the Jews have suffered at the hands of Christians from the time of Constantine onward, it shouldn’t surprise us to hear him describe Jesus offensively as “Prometheus-like conquering Christ.”

The crusaders reinforced that image of Messiah Jesus in the minds of unbelieving Jews.

Did Peter or any of the other apostles - soldiers of Messiah, to be sure - use the sword against the unbelieving Jews in their missionary work? (Of course not.)

By "making a footstool of them?"
Strange! VERY STRANGE!

God makes a footstool out of the Messiah’s enemies in a number of physical ways. The followers of Jesus killing their enemies is not one of the ways provided in the teaching and practice of Jesus, the apostles, and the early church. The Apostolic and Ante Nicene periods of church history stand against you.

“Jesus lied” says @Wrangler and his concealed identity church. You don’t speak out against it. I found that strange for a while. I don’t anymore.

Jesus Christ of Nazareth ALSO said this! But? I suppose this is something you just cannot "wrap your mind around!"
Luke 9:50
And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us. (wonder who the "US" is?)
And THIS!:

Mark 9:40
For he that is not against us is on our part. (and the OUR is?)
And? Jesus Christ of Nazareth ALSO said this!:

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man COMETH unto the Father, but by me.
Whilst I'm pretty sure you believe in Christ?
You seem, or sound reluctant in going "UNTO the Father!"
Which sounds like (to these ears anyway) that you haven't done enough "spiritual sacrifices" ACCEPTABLE TO GOD BY Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Which tells me?
You're STUCK in Christ!
To which? Ain't really a BAD place to be.
(considering the alternatives)
On the other hand?
There's SO MUCH more to one's "Spiritual" Journeying's!
Meaning? There's a whole lot MORE DOTS to connect IN and DURING "THIS SLICE of ETERNITY!" :vgood:

New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology, Abridged Edition, p. 244. Look it up. I’ve quoted it frequently on this forum.

Meanwhile, you ride with “Jesus lied.” That’s a very bad place to be.

Matthew 12:
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

That seems to bother YOU a whole lot MORE than it bothers me!

You are not bothered by agreeing that Jesus lied! When are you going to ask forgiveness for speaking against the Son of Man? Ever?

Your disrespect for God’s Word is a clear sign whose side you are on.

It won’t be forgiven until those who are speaking against the Son of Man - and that is precisely what @Wrangler and the concealed identity church he represents is doing when he teaches others that “Jesus lied” - repent.

I have greater concern for him and for you than you do.
