And that, my friend IS the appeal to Strawman. LOL We aren't talking about 'recognized literary form' but "the absence of Biblical instruction to pray to Jesus."
No, pay attention to the drift of the conversation. We've already exhausted that topic, and are addressing the real topic, how much honor, glory, reverence, and blessing are we obligated to give the "only-begotten" Son of God?

In any case, how to assess and interpret what the author's intent and meaning was when he wrote what he wrote is always relevant to any discussion of scripture. Strict literalism can miss the intended meaning.

Strawman on top of Strawman. Nice! So, you admit the absence of Biblical instruction to pray to Jesus?

To be honest, I want to know what argument you're making for Jesus accepting worship. So far I have only seen you insist he did. Maybe he accepted worship in the sense of homage to a great prince, or leader, but not as God. No. People in the Bible didn't think Jesus was equal to God. Anyhoo, yeah I guess we each have our own perspective on things.
If you were being honest you would not have given me two contradictory excuses! First- you claimed, Jesus was not given worship just half worship /homage. There are no examples of ANY acceptable proskuneo in the NT to anyone other than God and His Son, btw.
Furthermore. Jesus explicitly declared to only give PROSKUNE0 to GOD. You conveniently ignore that!
I hear Him- the Angels heard Him- Peter heard Him---- you don't hear Him.

Next- you tried out- Well then Jesus never accepted proskuneo. Which is it, Rman? he did not receive proskuneo or He never accepted it?
you can't have both. Any you are wrong on BOTH. It is as clear as light in the day that Jesus indeed was given PROSKUNO which He declared is only for God- AND he never once rejected it, but received it. Your clock has ticked out.. time for a re-set.
The angels reject it-- and do give Him proskuneo even as a man born on earth!. Peter as a man- rejected it!
You can argue til you are blue in the face that the NT teaches 2 types of proskuneo and by doing so, you make Jesus a liar who declared that proskuneo was only for God.

Next you tried-- That kind of proskuneo is just a bow. Jesus was prostrated before and his feet grabbed- therefore just a bow is baloney. They also worshiped Him after He ascended into heaven. WHY? Why did Jesus say proskuneo is only for God? yeah- keep asking that Q.

So what is your actual argument? You want the cake and you want to eat it too. You can't say He never received proskuneo and also say he never accepted it when given it--- to ok he was given it but was only half proskuneo..
This is one word in the NT is reserved only for God- Proskuneo.- Jesus received it and never once rejected it. He is not a minister of the sin of idolatry as you also tried to insinuate! The depths you will sink to...
You just don't want that to be true. Facts are stubborn things.

IF we are only to give Proskuneo to God- why would Jesus accept what He just said was only for God? How can anyone determine the difference between proskuneo and proskuneo?!!!? Is it by using our eyes to see it was a simple bow? We already know it was not a simple bow. SO HOW?

Your brain has straw in it which is why you never give an answer to anyone but pass out your little clichés as if they are an actual answer. Hilarious.
Nope- there is no specific instruction that says "PRAY TO JESUS!" LOL- as GH said, there is no instruction to urinate but do you? lol You people would argue against it even if those exact words were there! The Word isn't Jesus who became flesh? Seriously? Good grief, that's some serious straw stuck in your craw. -- Example---"I came down from heaven"- JESUS 'own testimony-
UNI's--
no no that doesn't mean He came down from heaven......!! clfh

What we do see is DEMONSTRATIONS of prayer to Jesus. That is good enough for those who don't have hardhearted strawbrains!

This is what passes for serious discourse to you. Sad.

If there were a thread on a topic I was not too interested in serious pursuit, I wouldn’t post personal attacks or sarcastic posts. This is how you show what Christ is doing in your life!

Wrong again. Just admit there is no Biblical instruction to pray to Jesus and move on from this thread - gracefully.
What's the point in ever attempting to dialogue with you? It's always the same. I did say it is not there in those words. So what? We see it OCURRING. Actions speak louder than words. Just as is true of Jesus accepting proskuneo is true of prayer. He accepts BOTH.
We call upon His name.
You don't want to- that's your issue.
and gracefully I do move on from YOU.

Each of these have a different context.

For example, in Genesis 1:26, it doesn't say the "Us" and "Our" are a trinity nor even how many there are. That doesn't help, but you seem to be saying that if God were a trinity that God would be an "Us, Our, They, or Them" which would be normal pronoun usage for describing more than one person. That's helpful, because did you know that God is never described as a They, Them, Us, or Our throughout the entire Bible? With overwhelming consistency, God is always a He, Him,. His, I, You, just one person in the entire Bible. This is the opposite of what you're saying.
God is “NEVER” described as They, Them, Us, or Our throughout the entire Bible?

Ummm – I just showed you NO less than FIVE verses that prove you are WRONG . . .

Genesis 1:26 is part of a conversation not God saying "Hey, I'm a trinity and we're gonna create some stuff." The very next verse clarifies that God created alone as a singular person. Who made people in His own image.
Now, we’re getting somewhere. So, tell me – a conversation with WHO??

WHO
are the parties involved in this conversation??

Want proof? If you're in the image of God, then are you three persons or one person?
WOW.

You believe that because God created us in His image – that we are ALSO God?? “In His image” is a SPIRITUAL metaphor – NOT that we ALL literally look like Him. We don’t. We know this by the simple fact that men and women are physically-different.

And then, you actually believe that we were created by ONLY the Father?? John 1:1-3 says different . . .

John 1:1-3

In the beginning was the Word,(Jesus) and the Word (Jesus) was WITH God (more than one Person), and the Word (Jesus) WAS GOD. He was with God in the beginning. Through HIM (Jesus) all things were made; WITHOUT HIM nothing was made that has been made.

Genesis 1
27So God created man in His own image;
in the image of God He created him;
male and female He created them.

Next, Matthew 28:19 doesn't define the trinity despite it saying "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit."
Side question, why does no one in Acts baptize according to that formula?
They ABSOLUTELY do. Again, YOUR problem is that you don’t understand the culture from which this statement – and the rest of Scripture came from.

You are tragically mistaken if you think that they were writing for people in the 21st century – with ALL of the 21st century idioms and metaphors. “In the name of” simply meant “by the AUTHORIY of”.

It was JESUS – and not Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter or Paul who gave us the prescription for Baptism.

John 15:26 isn't helpful to demonstrate that the "Spirit of truth" is actually a distinct person from the Father. Why? God has many spirits. Following your reasoning, if the "Spirit of truth" is a third person, then God wouldn't be a trinity, but rather at least 9 different persons that I can count off the top of my head. You misunderstand that God's spirits are often personified in Scripture and often represent His power.

Isaiah 11
2The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him—
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and strength,
the Spirit of knowledge and fear of the LORD.
WRONG.
Remember what Jesus the Son – the 2nd Person of the Trinity said:
John 4:24

"GOD IS SPIRIT, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

The Holy Spirit IS the Spirit of Truth. ONE of THREE Persons united in ONE Being. God doesn’t have “9 or more“ Spirits.

The very idea that you would profess this shows your ignorance of Scripture . . .
