OK... you are all from one sect I see.
I'm a disciple of Jesus Christ, that's the only sect I claim, although I was raised in a mainstream Protestant Church, which I won't mention which, as it follows man's theory of Preterism, which I do not. Thus I don't recommend wasting time debating seminary categories, because staying with God's Word as written is what is important, therefore, let the chips fall where they may.
So!?
How could the resurrection day be the end of this world?
Because that is what Apostle Paul showed in the 1 Thessalonians 4:13-16 Scripture about Christ's coming to gather His Church. Those saints who sleep in Jesus rise first, and then He brings them with Him when He comes, Paul said. Then Paul showed in the next 17th verse those saints that still alive on earth are at that same time
"caught up" into the "
air" by Jesus and His risen saints at His descent to this earth.
When it says that resurrected believers will reign with Him in their resurrrection bodies?
Reign over who? Over what?
Rule with a rod of iron smashing enemies of God during the Millennium?
To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations
— that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’—
just as I have received authority from my Father. Revelation 2:26-27
Psalms 2 is where God promised to set Christ Jesus as King upon His holy hill of Zion, and that He would rule the nations with that "rod of iron". So Jesus was only repeating Old Testament prophecy about His future literal... physical... on this earth reign over the nations starting at His 2nd coming, and that Psalms 2 Scripture includes His reign over the unsaved.
(See Zechariah 14:16-20; Isaiah 59:18:21 through Isaiah 60:1-22; Isaiah 24:21-23 reveals the kings that followed the Antichrist at the end of this world will be locked in Satan's pit prison with him "for many days", and then "visited")...
Isa 24:21-23
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before His ancients gloriously.
KJV
That parallels Revelation 20:1-3 about Satan being locked in his pit prison for the time of Christ's future
"thousand years" reign. And then he is loosed one final time after the
"thousand years", and Isaiah 24:22 about those kings locked with him being visited after many days is the Old Testament parallel to that future event of Revelation 20:7-8.
Even in Revelation 3:9, Jesus promised His elect Church of Philadelphia that He will make those of the
"synagogue of Satan" (Christ's worse enemies on earth) to come and worship Him at the feet of His elect. That has never... happened in this present world, and will not happen for this world, but only at Christ's future return and reign over the wicked and unsaved nations.
It is not simple. We need to stop thinking it always is.
It is simple, that is for those who study all their Bible, and not just form extra-Biblical doctrines outside The Bible based solely on the New Testament Books.
Christ's future "thousand years" reign over the unsaved with His elect is what Apostle Peter was pointing to in 2 Peter 3:8-9...
2 Peter 3:8-9
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
KJV
That future
"thousand years" reign by Christ Jesus and His elect is for preaching The Gospel to those who never were able to hear during this present world, and to teach them the difference between the holy and the profane, the clean and the unclean. It is the only time that Apostle Paul mentioned about the majority of his brethren, the spiritually blinded Jews which God Himself blinded, who will during that
"thousand years" have their spiritual eyes and ears open to The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
