  • Throughout Jesus' ministry He repeatedly said, "If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
  • Then before going to the Father, He said He would "send the Helper, the Holy spirit."
  • And then in the book of Revelation He repeats "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches"--seven times!
Why then do most Christians prioritize what and how they believe something like this:
  1. The written word.
  2. The church.
  3. The teachings of men.
  4. Their own understanding.
  5. Works.
  6. Social matters.
  7. Being "spiritual."
How would you list most Christian's priorities?

And what are you doing to make hearing "what the Spirit says" a [seven fold] priority?

Wow...where you been, in a cave? No, I know better, you've been here all along making snide remarks like that because I am not exempt, but you didn't like what the Spirit said and I revealed...many times.

The point is Jesus gave us a seek and hear the Spirit send off, and most just want to play scrabble with the Word and enjoy their worldly church practices. And have to be reminded.

Yeah, we see that, even here, a lot.

But in general, in churches, in the Christian community...it's like most have just settled in for the worldly church experience, just happy to have that salvation card in their pocket. It's what boredom looks like under a veil of facebook-style facade. Many hearts are in the right place and well intended...but what do you do when Jesus is still coming "someday" but not today? You get use to it and settle into whatever is comfortable. I guess that is understandable.

But Jesus told the thief on the cross, "today", not someday. And He also sent the Holy Spirit for "someday", and that "today" began at Pentecost and has continued--I would venture to say--every "today" since. And what did He also say? "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." Which was Him returning after He first went to the Father--and that too has come "today" ever since. But who that has Christ in them will say, "He returned in the flesh--mine, my flesh--but in the spirit?"

And we're bored, twiddling our thumbs, playing church, singing and carrying on about "someday?" Wow!

...That's why I said we have our priorities all wrong.

Are you saying that Christians are too focused on a future arrival of Christ but not Christ in us now?

It's the reference to 'most' and in other posts 'some people' that is a giveaway. Sooo, no caves here, just a keen ear and the ability to read between the lines.

Yes. By definition, Jesus went "to the Father" (as He said), and since then has returned "in the glory of His Father" (in spirit) (as He said), and Christians who say they have Christ even in them deny that He has "come" (as He said), and look for Him to come in a way He said He would "not come."

This is the fulfillment of 2 Peter 2:1, which states: "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves".

"Strong delusion"--as it is written--is rightly described as affecting "most", or "many", or "some people."

Your keen ear and ability claim is false.

What's your point?
Your opening post's concern is other (most) people. 'Most' is used as judgement of others. Then you want to extract a response re priorities. Isn't this also a feed for judgement according to how you see?

I made a [true] statement, and then asked if anyone has experienced it differently that they might list it differently. Meaning, I am not exempt--I was simply first.

Simply because teh Word written by the inspired men is what the spirit would have us learn.

Once again any teaching that denies or contradicts written Scripture is not from the Holy Spirit but is doctrines of demons.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 King James Version

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

It does not say any chirpings or mutterings or visions or "higher spiritual meanings".
