Which is what you taught in a vain attempt to get out of doing the work of belief,
Nope.

You show you have a severe reading comprehension problem my friend. I never said any such thing.

MY FAITH in Christ is GODS WORK.. He brought me to my knees and I cried out to him.

You on the other hand, think you must get water baptised.

Your work is to believe on Jesus Christ.

No. It is gods work. that I BELIEVE

Since you are doing the believing, you are trying to merit your salvation based on your definition of merit,
No..

lol

If a person rescues me from a burnign building because I was unable to save myself.. I did not save myself or work to get saved.

He saved me..

It says what it says...not what you have listed. There are many more that says the same.

Acts 2 38....KJV......

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.......

NOW...show me scripture that says we do not have to be water baptized?...
Actually it has been changed

the origional english bibles had it closer to correct.

Repent Ye (plural) and let every one of you (singular)

nice try though

MY FAITH in Christ is GODS WORK.. He brought me to my knees and I cried out to him.
You did not believe, God believed for you, which is Calvinism.
In a vain attempt to distance yourself from believing on Jesus which is your work according to Christ, John 6:28-29.
Doesn't matter how you try to get around the scriptures, you have done a work to be saved.

False Peter tells to repent  and be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins.
Acts 2:38,
- then Peter said unto them, Repent  and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit

Eternally Grateful's perversion of Acts 2:38,
- then Peter said unto them repent for the forgiveness of your sins and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ because you are already saved and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit

Twisting Peter's words.
false.

if we were to translate it using todays english, it should say all of you repent. and let THEM be baptized. and YOU

it does not make sense in the origional text as it is written

again, the closes is the old english version, repent YE and let every one of YOU

modern english does not differentiate plural you with singular you

Dude. You better stop right now. I have told you twice that is not true

I BELIEVED.

you want to lie about me again I will report you!!!!

I BELIEVE IN JESUS.

As did ABRAHAM
Romans 4:
4 What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was [b]accounted to him for righteousness.” 4 Now to him who works, the wages are not counted [c]as grace but as debt.

Belief is not a work of merit

keep it up my friend..

Repent Ye (plural) and let every one of you (singular)
Acts 2:38,
Peter tells everyone to repent and everyone of you to be baptized.
All are included in repentance and baptism.
You have proven only that you don't understand Acts 2:38.

Repent- direct command.
Be baptized- direct command.
eternally grateful teaches God only requires one of His commandments.

For the remission of your sins- the stated purpose associated with those commands.

eternally grateful claims Peter teaches baptism dosen't save only repentance.
Peter himself tells ET he's twisting what he says about salvation.

Listen to Peter not what ET tells you Peter says.
1Peter 3:20-21,
- the like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us

That's why Peter says in Acts 2:38 - Repent and be baptized everyone of you for the forgiveness of sins

You go right ahead and report me!!!
You're not consistent in what you say.
You always make a mess out of belief because you are desperately trying in vain to get around doing the work of belief.

If you do the believing according to Jesus you have done the work.
John 6:28-29,
- Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God that YOU believe on Him whom He hath sent

- Then they said unto Jesus, what shall we do that we might work the works of God

Just admit you did the work of belief.
Your gospel is contradictory.

I never claimed belief is a work of merit.
ET has repeatedly lied that I'm teaching belief and baptism is a work of merit.
ET has repeatedly lied that I'm teaching one earns/merits his way to heaven.

He needs to quote me teaching salvation is earned?
Again, you just proved your trying to earn salvation
lol. Water baptism is a boastful work my friend

I can boast of being water baptized..

and saving myself because of that work
Give scripture that teaches baptism is a work of merit?
All you are doing is claiming it is then falsely accusing me of teaching one earns salvation through a work of merit.
You have been lying about me this entire discussion.

Your trying to earn salvation. Don;t attack other people when you are trying to earn your own salvation. You need to focus on self.
You judged me.
Repeatedly making this false accusation through the entire discussion.
To prove my innocence that ET is lying about me.
I challenge him to quote me, teaching his false accusation that Salvation is merited through boastful works, Ephesians 2:8-9?

Why would I teach this, when its false doctrine.
We are saved by Gods grace through obedient faith, Romans 1:5 ; Ephesians 2:8-9.

does anyone have popcorn? Its a blast seeing two legalists fighting each other.

One says we have to get baptised. the other says we have to see all our possessions.

what ever happened to becoming like the tax collector?

or did I read the arguments wrong?
No. I just enjoy it when different legalists fight each other
Your trying to earn salvation. Don;t attack other people when you are trying to earn your own salvation. You need to focus on self.
Nonstop derogatory insults from ET.
False accusations of referring to me as a legalist and telling lies about my supposed belief in earning my way to heaven.
Now he's accusing me of lying.

Doesn't surprise me.

whos work did Jesus say it was?

who gets the credit for your faith in him?

God said he did the work to bring me to faith

Quote me saying Gods other commandments are unimportant?

Wanting to be saved ? Yes.
Being falsely accused of believing I saved myself without the blood of Christ by some work I did is your false accusation. Not reality.

God said he did the work to bring me to faith

Your gospel is no gospel at all.
They said what work might we do, John 6:28-29,
- Then they said unto Jesus, What work shall we do, that we(not God) might work the works of God

ET what work did you do to work the works of God?
Jesus said it is belief in Him.

John 6:29,
- Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God that ye believe...

According to Christ He answered their question on what work they could do to work the works of God.
Jesus was not a faith onlyist.
He did not tell them there is no work to do!!!
He answered their question by telling them that to work Gods works, one believes on Him.

John 6:14,
- verily, verily I say to you he that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also

According to Christ believing is a work of God that we work.

To teach otherwise is denying Christ's teaching.

Not baptized with the Holy Spirit.

When you believe you are baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ.

Then we are baptized by a human being with water baptism.

Then we are baptized by Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit.

Three different baptisms with three different baptizers.
This is utter malarkey and CLEARLY blasphemes the Lord's words and Scripture.

I never claimed belief is a work of merit.
smh
ET has repeatedly lied that I'm teaching belief and baptism is a work of merit.
You are. Because you say you must be baptized to be saved.
ET has repeatedly lied that I'm teaching one earns/merits his way to heaven.
You are. again, your teaching you are saved by a work of righteousness which you must do.
He needs to quote me teaching salvation is earned?
Anytime you teach we must do a work to merit salvation. you teach merit based salvation.
Give scripture that teaches baptism is a work of merit?
Baptism is a work of righteousness.

Paul said in titus 3. It is not by works of righteousness (like water baptism) which we have done, but by his mercy.

Grace is cherity, You do not earn cherity by doing works.
All you are doing is claiming it is then falsely accusing me of teaching one earns salvation through a work of merit.
But I am not wrong
You have been lying about me this entire discussion.
Nope. not once.

Can you get my name right
False accusations of referring to me as a legalist and telling lies about my supposed belief in earning my way to heaven.
Now he's accusing me of lying.
You are a legalist. Your no better off than a jew trying to add circumcision.

Paul called them fools. what do you think he would call you?
Doesn't surprise me.
Does not suprise me that you would continue to deny what you teach

legalists refuse to own up to what they believe

Wanting to be saved ? Yes.
Being falsely accused of believing I saved myself without the blood of Christ by some work I did is your false accusation. Not reality.
You saved you self by leaving the place where you first believed, and doing the work of going to the place where you were water baptised. then allowing the one who baptized you to baptise you.
