I am confused: do threads belong to God; for His glory and purposes...or are we here solely to speak of our own righteousness? So often, those that lack understanding(for instance me), those feeble-minded, slow, confused but love God and have a desire to know Him; are easily dismissed. So often those lacking "intelligence" are told to go sit at another table. So often those that are considered not "like-minded" are told they are not worth the time or effort.

Matthew 22:37-40 KJV
[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself
There seems to be an awful lot of: loving thyself.
All those "perfect law keepers" that never sin in "the flesh"...you have just broken the second commandment when you tell someone seeking to go away. And you do it over and over without any guilt or rebuke from the Spirit?

Where are the wise men to lead and teach and guide those that lack?
Where are the under shepherds?
Where are the Fathers?

1 Corinthians 4:15
For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

Where is love?
Where is patience?
Where are the fruits of the Spirit?

An example: the Brought to Remembrance Thread where someone begins a thread with a verse that encourages submission unto leaders.

-Hebrews 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as those who must give account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.

-And the thread goes like this:

-What is the point of this thread?

-If you have to ask, then it must not be for you. It shall speak to those it needs to speak unto.

-M'kay, I thought the purpose of a forum was to have discussion, not for those who wish to be self righteous pricks. Quite the 'community' we got here hey..........
clip_image001.png

-Ummm, thank you? Don't worry, I won't be around as much shortly. Life has other plans for my time. It is the result of a couple of small calamities that gave me the time I currently have. I do wish you the best.

-Well........have a nice life pal.

Should not the "intelligent" help those that lack understanding first, instead saying "your post doesn't even deserve a response"? Shouldn't those that separate to another table of "intelligence" be eager to move to where they are truly needed???

Are we all hypocrites? Oh how we do love to spout our own glory and toot our own horn!
Thank the LORD that He knows what the flesh is like and provided the only way to be righteous. Through Jesus Christ.

Not through our own self-righteousness.

Self-righteousness bears a fool; a fool that can't even see that he has lied to himself. Lied by deception that he has any contribution to make to his salvation. It is by the saving faith in the blood of the Lamb...hypocrites included.

I truly am saddened by what you have had to say, I know that what I believe, as far as the normal Christian Theology goes, is in some cases,
being considered a Hairy-tick, lol! I wouldn't be on this Forum if I didn't Care about each and everyone within my reach. I went through the Church, and I couldn't find any Meat, so I returned to the World, people were more true there than in the Church! But God wouldn't let me go, at a point and time, I cried out to Him and said there MUST be more to this than gathering in a building, sitting on a bench, and standing up to pray, and sitting down, then standing up to sing, then down again, sitting there looking at the back of the people in front of me, you know that was what they call keeping things in order. Little did I know that My Wife had cried out to God about the same thing! only after a few months of studying from a new source, did we express to each other what we had asked for. We found a Teacher that within 20 minuets we not only learned something, but had understanding. All we ever wanted was the Truth, as I am sure you do, Jesus said that the Truth will set you Free, all I can say is what does the Truth set you free from. Consider this my last statement, Jesus was confronted with religious Leaders in the Time He was Here, they were not keeping Moses, for 300 years before Jesus was born, everyone thinks these Pharisees were keeping what God had established, Not So, they had made up their own religion based on this false fact, that Moses had transmitted this Oral Torah, which ONLY these Pharisees could Interpret, Jesus was always in conflict with them because He, Jesus was destroying their false Religion, He Came to set Everyone Free from False Religion, Jesus the Way the Truth and the Life, He was the Truth so be Free from Man Made Religion!!!

Sorry I got long winded, I can say that I do truly care about you, personally, as I do all others. Starting Monday I go back to full time work, so I also will be away from participation!

Thank you for sharing your testimony. Like you and your wife, my husband and I are also looking for something different. Not a different doctrine or break from others, but the genuine love you speak of. I don't like staring at the back of someone's head either. I long for fellowship. I care about you and the others as well. People ask me why I bother posting on a forum, when it all seems so impersonal. Church inside a building can also be impersonal. I am asked why I don't go out into the community and try to do something that matters. I am here until God says otherwise. To me, this forum matters. Sometimes, I scroll through visitors and what threads they view:

"Why doesn't God heal amputees?"
"Please, pray God lets me die."
"Why did God make me ugly?"
"Why does God hate me?"

There are a lot of hurting people in the world. There are a lot of people that come here, near giving up and curious if there really is any love or anyone that cares. We need more men like you, Truth. May God bless you and your wife with fellowship, service, and longevity.

2 Peter 1:2-8 KJV
[2] Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, [3] According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: [4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. [5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Good point. What are the threads and posting for?
I have to say I come here for fellowship.
I like to hear what others believe and how they got to where and why they believe, even if ( and most times it is) different than mine.
I like the people on this site...and I always notice when they are missing.
I write INBOXes to people.
As for intelligence....I wouldn't know , and I don't have much at all!!
But then I don't believe that intelligence and God go together. So often our mind is our enemy...so I hope I am safe as I don't have a very big brain :D
I was at the back of the line when intelligence was given out...
But then again I do not see intelligence and wisdom in the same box.
My own father was very well educated, even at 90 his mind was still very sharp.
He was very intelligent ...but at the end he said:-
"I underestimated your poor mother...she was not well educated or very intelligent ...and I looked down on her for it... I have always had a quick mind, but she had all the wisdom...I believe she has had the better part. She had a simple walk with God..a real working relationship."

As for myself...I find no life in the intellectual threads...( I don't understand them! :D) But, power to those who enjoy them. I am sure they love them and post in them as they would enjoy a good chess game. ( I can play chess quite well...yay go me! :) )

The beauty of this site is it's diversity...there is something for everyone. All walks of life. When I come on this site I don't always want or need the same thing out of it.
At night I don't have much energy left...so I head for the games and fun section..I like 'The Weather' thread...I like hearing what it is like in other places.
I like the new TV thread Job started.
I like the one where we say something nice about the person who posted ahead of us.. This site has a bit of everything. I love it!
I do get tired of the endless Law v grace, and Works v Faith...when there are too many the site get lopsided...we need diversity.
This got somewhat rambling...

Certainly this is one reason for me as well. I know a very few people I could talk about the Lord with, but none of them are close enough to visit whenever I would like to need to visit...

Your father was wiser than he knew or admitted. I am admittedly the student in my marriage, but my wife is the one who usually hears from God first on what actions or lack thereof that are needed. Without her I know very well that I would not be in a good place with man or worse... with God.

The beauty of this site is it's diversity...there is something for everyone. All walks of life. When I come on this site I don't always want or need the same thing out of it.
At night I don't have much energy left...so I head for the games and fun section..I like 'The Weather' thread...I like hearing what it is like in other places.

This got somewhat rambling...

But a good ramble it is. I cannot say I am as attracted by the games or the weather ones although I am sometimes there as well, but it is good to hear from others in different situations who also love God. Over the years I have learned a lot from people on the Christian Internet forums. In the world of men offline it is for me almost impossible to find people to help or to just interact with regarding God or other things of mutual interest.

This morning I took my wife to a medical appointment and while we were waiting my wife called my attention a problem one of the receptionists was having. She had lady on the phone who spoke no English but needed assistance. There was no employee in the office who spoke Spanish. My lovely wife overhearing the trouble was quick to volunteer my services. I was embarrassed and hoped I could understand the lady on the phone. I did and was able to advise her as well as help out the nearly helpless receptionist. If I were alone, I probably wouldn't have known that there was a problem because of hearing difficulties, but my wife enabled me and I left the office with a couple more friends than I had before.

Now we are here on this forum with all of this diversity and for the most part the ones involved are followers of Christ already. This is a special blessing to all of us from God. He does care about us an provides things are sometimes way above minimal necessities.

You completely ruined that thread and you find happiness in that. I believe you. You make brash comments and refer to your fellow members of this forum as a derogatory term for the male anatomy and that makes you happy. Again, I believe you.

Whether you know it or not, and I don't think you do, your words are your witness to the world. Make the most of this happiness you have now, because if you continue on this path it will be the only happiness you will ever know.

When I read your posts, all I see is a discarted rusty nail that has outlived it's usefulness.

 Well, I call a spade a spade, or as the OP calls it, his act of "segregated intelligence". If you don't want to be called [removed], then don't act like one....its really that simple. :)

Well Jesus wasn't so kind to the stiff necked [removed] we call the pharisees. If you really want to compare my kindness to the way Jesus treated them, then I was much, much kinder. He won't be any nicer with his second coming either, thankfully. :)
