it's not that this is misunderstood so much as it is not heard the same way by a Protestant, i guess. Iow a Prot hears this as "the Bible is not our primary source."

That's not what I'm saying at all.

This all started because somebody was claiming that the Catholic Church taught something that it didn't.
I told them that if they want to know what the Church teaches - then go to a primary source like the Catechism and not wikipedia.

The Canon of the New Testament was compiled and declared by the Catholic Church.
Why on earth would a person like you, who claims the Church is "evil" agree with that Canon of Scripture??

And yes since your "religions" compiled the bible it is teh very reason why it is not the word of God'it is an authorised cathoilc translation, if only people could understand.

If that is the way God saw fit to give put out His information. Who but God increases any of us? Can we study the Bible and thereby receive all of His truth? I think not, not unless it is God's will for us to do so.
