I think the question is what is Truth...is it something people tell you? Is there more then one or only one? Is Truth something we feel down inside ourselves?

Truth is something we seek out...and constantly study to show ourselves approved. I think it is important to know what for example is the right Bible and right translation, because we are tested like a test in school on what we know. If you are not sure about what you believe is true, you will be led astray. The Bible is your lens as to how you see God. This is why you need to make sure you know the Bible Truth. Do JW believe that the Bible is God-breathed without error?

The "Mormon" Bible is the KJV. Gets studied twice as much as the Book of Mormon.
The Book of Mormon is also believed to be scripture, a sister to the Bible, not a replacement.

In practice this is similar to every other non-sola-Biblia viewpoint: yes the Bible is considered to be the word of God, but not the only place God speaks to us.

So you would consider "The Book of Mormon" with Joseph Smith God's Word also?

I just ask because I am trying to let Michael see whatever we use becomes like the lense on how we see God. This is why it is so important to know what lenses to use.

And only by prayer and study can you really determine that, because there is a lot of different beliefs in the world.

Honestly, comparing LDS views on the Book of Mormon versus JW views on the Bible is really an apples and oranges comparison, and I don't think it would be very helpful here.

AMEN!!! This I get behind a million percent!

Yes we do

Amen. But would you say that The New World Translation reads different then other versions? Or do the differences come in with The Watchtower? Do you know if The World Translation was rewritten because of the Watch Tower? I have no idea. Just was wondering where it originated from.

so what people lie does that surprise you
I can think of another person, and no it doesn't surprise me one bit.

How bout you ask me a genuine question throw away the script and actually ask me something
I did. It was in regards Daniel, which every JW knows within the first few Bible studies, and must know in order to explain Revelation.

I don't see that much of a big differences besides JOHN 1:1 where it places "was God "with "Was A god"

What text? We are discussing the difference between getting the meaning from the text (exegesis) and adding meaning to the text (eisegesis).
Do you hate witnesses yes or no

Quiz time, Sean.
If you have read much of "The Book", then you should be able to tell us if that statement is true, and why... or why not.

Thanks for clarifying. That was the point I was just trying to make about what we read and listen to is what will color our view of God. So we need to know what we believe.

I think the first step that would help you @Mister Michael is to just stick to the Bible and not read anything else. Not even discuss it on here, because people too can be misleading. This is why my pastor says he will tell people about Jesus, but not invite them to church, because people can mislead. God will lead you in the right direction. Id compare New World Translation with other versions and pray about the meaning of these a bit at a time...but I think it will be less confusing for you. I will keep you in prayer, but I think I have said my piece. :)

So what do you believe this verse means and is the meaning the same in both versions?

Just a thought.

In nwt i believe it's message is that Jesus isn't the true God

while the Kjv for example saying that Jesus is in fact God and part of the "Trinity"
