I've seen over the course of years and most recently how people - even Christians - have an aversion for the truth. I know that none of us grow overnight and that there are areas in each of our minds that God has to yet renew but I wonder how others handle it when faced with people who come out and attack you verbally for speaking the truth.

I just dealt with a situation in my extended family where my (now ex-sister) used a corrupt lawyer to try to get me back for telling her to stop contacting my children because she was causing trouble. She then weaponized my father's estate and acted like a kook to try to keep money my father left me since she was Executrix. I was forced to defend myself against the low-life lawyer and the vicious attacks on me. She even called my daughter in-law and was trashing me and when she couldn't get them on her side she unfriended them. She never had a family and I think she hoped she could use mine as hers. She did other things like that such as waiting until I was out of state to get my children to take our father out and then sent me photos of her sitting in the midst of them like the matriarch. I realized that there was a lot of jealousy there but she made her own choices.

I fought back against the nasty lawyer and went to court and prevailed. I had an honest judge - and that isn't always the case. The lawyer still kept money that he wasn't entitled to from the estate which I'm still unsettled over. My ex-sister lied repeatedly about her motivations but I had saved a text where as soon as I told her to leave my children alone she immediately threatened to keep money from my inheritance. I proved her to be a liar.

The owner of the law firm is allegedly a Christian and knew this was going on. I emailed him and told him that he owes me money and he threatened to sue me - it was his firm who did wrong. We knew what he was about before that. He acted superior to everyone else and his son was the town drug dealer. He said something mean about one of my family and I told him it was known that his son was the drug dealer. He couldn't handle the truth. He wanted everyone else to go along with his delusion that he and his family were above everyone else. I was attacked for speaking the truth.

What's even more frustrating is that his son ruined many lives but never got in trouble himself and is now a lawyer. I don't understand why God doesn't expose them to the people who don't know what they did. They made a lot of money with the son selling drugs and the father representing teens that his son sold drugs to.

The same thing happened with another sinning bible teacher who put down other people's families and his son was so corrupt they had to give their business up in town because of something corrupt they did.

I see so many people who don't live by the truth and when I try to I get attacked - often viciously. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm seeing that it's dangerous to speak the truth - people don't want to hear it.

In situations like that, and others specific to only us, it just might be a moment for each of us to realize that what we are insisting they hear may not be the truth God has for them.

There is a natural reaction in the outer natural man to defend itself. This is a reaction that is meant to preserve the present life being lived which is according to the flesh. Of course we are not to live according to the flesh...and should receive with joy the things that break down the outer man. But many believe in a salvation FOR the outer man.

So with the lack of sound doctrine and the stubbornness of the flesh being vented by so many believers...it can be quite daunting to present the truth...among believers!

When I try to present...even the most basic of spiritual truths....there is quite a strong reaction to this by many on this forum.

It is the sign of the times that there are so few disciples among so many who profess to believe.

We need to understand we come into the world speaking lies Psalm 58:3. And we hate truth unless we can use it as a lever against others John 3:20. And spiritual truth is way beyond our grasp 1 Corinthians 2:14. So we have laws that force people to act like they are good under penalty of loss. We also find if we act like we are good, we prosper more than if we do not.

So in accepting this as our starting point we can see what we are up against. Don't expect too much out of people, and deal with it accordingly.

I have posted this before, That my older brother, his wife and their son and daughter spent 7 years lying about me to my dad, and they were able to convince him to hate me! All they wanted was the Inheritance, I just walked away, God will be the final say! We are in this World, But We are not to be like it! I have come to believe that God is VERY serious About someone's last Wish's, and if anyone acts against those wish's they are in serious trouble with our Father! Needless to say My brother Died 6 months after they received the Estate. My last words to my brother was- I will always Love you no Matter what, and I meant it! Still do.

Lawyers... Some few good many corrupt.

The family responsible for my daughter's death sued my insurance company and their lawyer won a huge settlement. I was the only one with insurance. God saw to it they didn't get one penny. Their crooked lawyer stole the money but was caught and disbarred. It may not be today or this year but their ways will catch up to them like a tsunami. God will see to it even without our prayers.

As an observer over decades I've seen it again and again. The wounds inflicted by their evil ways will need God's touch.

Forgiving the wicked while they're still enjoying what they did to you is most difficult. Those that are so flip and say "well just forgive them" are as Job's friends. Miserable comforters.

As Job heard "but now it touches you"...

I've also noticed that everyone gets a turn at bat. Sitting on the bench telling others how to swing is not the same as standing before the pitcher.

Luke 11:46 KJVS
And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

Mosaic law or civil law a lawyer is a lawyer.

Rejoice, young man, during your childhood, and let your heart be pleasant during the days of young manhood. And follow the impulses of your heart and the desires of your eyes. Yet know that God will bring you to judgment for all these things.

Yes, it is dangerous to speak the truth when lies are the common currency, and many people (including Christians) resist the truth. So what do you do?

Speak the truth regardless of how it is received and move on. Don't expect appreciation or thanks for the truth, and you won't be disappointed. But when you stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ, you will not be ashamed.

It seems to me that there is a huge lack of humility within the Church. It's up to each individual Christian to seek Truth, whether or not they like it.
As far as those outside the Church, it is hard to begin with if they do not want to know Truth, and I find personally that using scripture while speaking to an unbeliever is kind of senseless in some ways. If one does not believe the bible is true, why would they listen to scripture?

It's hard to know when to speak the truth and when to stay silent. I guess even the truth can be abused if we insist on telling it. I guess that's where "rightly handling the word of truth" comes in.

They're good verses that make sense. The natural man doesn't want to accept the truth - and we have probably rejected truth at one time or another. It can be hard when you try to live by truth around others who don't want to. And even harder to know when to let someone remain not in the truth and when to not accept it.

I'm sorry that you had to endure that for seven years - I know how painful those actions are. For your brother to die 6 months after receiving the estate shows that he didn't get to enjoy it long.

Ecclesiastes 11:9 NASB

Both lawyers were corrupt - the one for putting down others' children while his own was dealing drugs; the other for lying and trying to force me into signing his altered document using threats. I dealt with another lawyer who was corrupt. I've never met individuals who lied so much. They were terrible to deal with - you couldn't believe anything they said. What a distasteful life and reputation. "Better a poor man than a liar."

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. I had a great loss due to someone else's ugly actions - interestingly tied in with the same sibling - one of the reasons I felt great betrayal and didn't want her bringing my children around that evil person. When I told her to not contact my children, she was pushy and said that I don't get it, that she contacts who she wants. She learned that she doesn't -they rejected her themselves. I tried being fair but some people won't even accept fairness.

It has been very hard to watch them seemingly get by with doing great evil. I have tried to hold onto the faith that people don't get away with evil but it's hard sometimes when you don't see it, and this person fools a lot of people and seemingly got away with much evil. I have prayed many times for God's judgment. I know David prayed the imprecatory psalms and not everybody thinks they're applicable. The wounds that this person inflected were very deep and I have prayed the psalms.

My husband keeps telling me that he's seen that people don't get away with evil. He told me about a neighbor who lived across the street from his family and broke into their house and stole all the coins his father sent back from Germany when he was in the war. His family wasn't well off and they would probably be worth some money. My husband said he confronted the guy and he was an in-your-face "yeah I robbed your house" tough guy. He never got caught for that and seemingly got away with it but went on to rob a mail truck and went to jail for it.

I know about Job's friends. Their words do little when the pain is very deep; the suffering intense and can make one's suffering worse.

What do you do when ppl don't wanna hear the truth?

Why are you trying to tell anyone "the truth" anyway?
Especially ppl who don't want to hear it?

this is maybe what happens when proclaimers are turned into preachers, or beautiful feet are turned into missionaries or something

i know we are able to read all about speaking the truth in Scripture, ok, speak the truth in love, etc
but there are other vv that these should be contemplated in light of, and you are allowed to assume that you know the truth if you want to, but imo keep in mind at least 2he who say he knows anything, does not,
at least unless you aspire to be a teacher imo
