The trouble with me is...I have worn them for so many decades now..I don't even remember that I have them.
My daughter had two more added either side...but only wore them for a year, she took out the extras because she didn't like them ...not 'comfortable'.

One of my grand daughter has about 6 each side...(small graduating diamonds) she seems happy with them at the moment.
So I guess your daughter and your granddaughter never wondered if you would stay at being a 'one each side' person?

In some areas it's so widespread for young men and older to have ears done that it doesn't seem valid for ppl to 'moralize' against it.

In the time of King David of Israel it was apparently widespread for young men and older to have more than one wife. Why would or should we 'moralize' against polygamy now if they did not do it then?

The issue - now as then - is whether there is any morally or spiritually damaging aspect to whatever it is.

Polygamy and earrings are apples and oranges, really.

Funny how people all want to be noticed so they do things to be noticed and be different yet in the end they all do the same thing and are not different. Something to do with the outside of the cup.

There was a point to my post. The point is that we are to yield ourselves to God in everything no matter what everyone else, or even most everyone else, or even most every believer, is doing. Jesus was willing to walk alone with God on planet Earth. Are we, or do we need the majority, or even a large number of people, on our side to walk with God here on planet Earth?

"From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him." John 6:66

Jesus lost many followers with his declarations about the need to eat his flesh and to drink his blood, but rather than trying to hold onto even the most faithful, ones, those named apostles, he challenged them also:

"Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?" John 6:67

Peter's response made it clear where he stood, but Jesus had been willing to walk with none of them rather than compromise.
If God says I must have earrings to please Him then so be it, but if He should say "get rid of them" that would and should the way to go or...?

"Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life." John 6:68

I do love John chapter 6, yes, indeed.

My point though would be, if you were in a local church in Connecticut where the quote came from, would you really give young men and older ones a hard time because they wore earrings? I think the appropriate answer would be, No.

I wouldn't give anyone a hard time about earrings just because they wear them. I would however when opportunity presents let people know that God's Way is one, and man's is another. Sometimes we can do things man's way without displeasing God, but we do need to be paying close attention to what He is saying to us at the moment. Following the crowd even in seemingly innocent things can get us in trouble because we are not listening to Him.

I agree completely.

It's how we are spiritually in the 'inner man' that really counts.

Ephesians 3.14-19:

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

One sibling with kids and grandkids in Bulgaria.
And lots of cousins with kids and grand kids in UK
And my kids and adult grandkids here...and not one male amongst them with an earnings .

Well, interesting! (It must be something to do with geography, then, where a lot of menfolk wear them...)

Seems anyway like some of your family womenfolk more than make up for it with multiple earrings, I think you indicated, right? :)
