No, look at all those verses and then tell me if I have a right for reservations about following Jesus.

Hebrews 1:3
[3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Luke 7:22-23
[22] Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. [23] And blessed is he , whosoever shall not be offended in me.

You are offended. John 14:9
[9] Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then , Shew us the Father?

What do you see in Christ? Not the OT, what do you see expressed or shown in Christ?

Have Faith? Impossible without Belief.

Men have the ability to BELIEVE.
Faith is a Gift from God....FOR Belief.

Eph 2:
8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Glory to God,
Taken
I don't see how that distracts from the point that Scripture is being scribed there to allow that belief might be all one needs.
And further imo it is pretty obvious why this has been done, you even said it; Men have the ability to BELIEVE, right, and Faith is a Gift from God. So, since faith is hard, while belief is easy, let's just change as many instances of pistis as we can in Scripture, bc after all there is like one pale synonym involved and everything

I don't have to. As a belief it never offered its followers salvation from sin etc.
As it is not practiced today it is as relevent in a debate/discussion about religeon as the baals mentioned in the bible.
ah, that was actually spot on wadr, as most who ID as Christian are actually Mithraists, at least at first. I certainly was
all of the signs are evident, ok, there is not a single one missing
it is the most widely practiced form of Christianity
Thank God that He does not judge like us huh

if you believe that Jesus is Returning to take you to heaven or might make you an immortal someday, then you are a Mithraist, plain and simple, same guys, diff dresses. We even have a Passage or two for this, @ "Zeus" or sometimes "Jupiter" I think?
We say we are not Mithraists bc the emperor has new clothes, not bc it isn't true spiritually

there is no "confess your sins to God" anywhere in Scripture wadr

Wadr

Mark 2
[7]...who can forgive sins but God only?

1 John 1
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Glory to God,
Taken

so, the point is hopefully made there, and the faithful at least know to confess their shortcomings to each other
and I won't bother showing you how your interp is Mithraism for now, bam confess your sins to God if you like
that's like, what, one step away from "bless me father, for I have sinned" right

Agnostic refuses to confess his sins, even on a forum where no one knows who he is. I believe it’s because he delights in them.

you will know them by their fruit
and I suggest that a simple review of some key posts would give a diff picture wadr, even if he has what refused to confess his sins to you literally in the moment? I mean maybe bc he has not sinned against you? Should we re-read post 1?
awesome confession imo

Hi and welcome to the forum.....so you have stated you are neither persuaded that God exists or that He does not exist....well at least you haven't made a final decision yet so perhaps you can find answers here that you are seeking.
I have a question....you have read the Bible...do you believe the contents of it? I have read your posts here and by some of the scriptures you quoted you have a basic understanding of it.
Most of scripture are true accounts of the lives of people and the experiences they encountered during their life. What fascinates me the most about scripture is that it is constantly revealing itself in a new revelation of knowledge that I did not grasp in previous years....in other words.....when I first began reading it was boring.....too many thee's and thou's….but as I grew and prayed for understanding my eyes and my heart would suddenly be opened to see the deeper meaning of it.
If you are seeking truth you will find it. If you are seeking God (for proof of His existence) He will reveal Himself to you.....as the scripture says If you seek Me you WILL FIND ME....
Well I will keep you in prayer concerning your search for truth.
God Bless

"If" belief was all that was required...
The Bible sure used a lot of ink and paper to say so.

Not ever would be acceptable.

Eh, No. ^ That is more akin to ....
Lord, Lord, hey, hey, hey, your Forgiveness failed, can you again, and again, and again forgive me.

Glory to God,
Taken

um well if i'm getting you here we could def go take a look and see how many pistis have been made into "belief" if you want. Scripture denies the importance of "beliefs" in many places, several different ways

If God is beyond our capabilities of understanding him, how can anyone claim they know him. So what if science has a unproven theory about the beginning of the universe, what has that got to do with proving God. One way or another you'll have to leave your faith in Jesus behind when you die and all the neural activity ceases in your brain.

Science does not accept universe always existed or that it popped out of nothing.

Did God Create the Universe?

The simple reality is saying the universe is always existed makes no logical sense if you just go by science and human reasoning.

Always existed begs the question why and how.

completely diff proposition, I agree there
I think it strange that people claim we cannot be forgiven many times for the same sin from God when Jesus told the disciples to forgive a man 70 times 7 over the same offense. It would be like He is setting a double standard....[YOU MUST FORGIVE OVER AND OVER BUT I WILL NOT].....(IMHO)

if you confess every time I guess...but at a certain point? I doubt anyone could keep doing that tho tbh, something would give
