Next is the street... Pure gold.

Since we do not have pure gold on this earth, the closest we can get is 999.9 pure.

Also remember when the description was written for the Bible extremely clear glass had not yet been invented.24k-pure-gold-bar.jpg

As for the walls, it does not tell us what they will be made of.

But it calls the city the bride of Christ and says it is close in the finest white.

So that gives us a feel of the color.Lenin.jpg

Then on the inside in the middle of the street will be a river that comes out of the throne of God.

The street will be lined with trees of life.

We don't know what our mansions will look like since mansion in the Greek means dwelling place. And in our glorified bodies we cannot even guess what they be like. Buildings, woods, grassy plains, parks or what.

All I know is what I showed here post the sheer size of the city with God dwelling in and all the glorified saints, it is beyond our imagination.

Can you picture 12 extremely thick foundations 1400 miles x 1400 miles stacked on each other out of the stones?
Not sure if it will be stacked stones or something else using those precious stones (since only God knows, and we are talking about a supernatural structure designed and built by God). But that is not 1400 miles, but 1500 miles x 1500 miles x 1500 miles.

Not that gold.

1 Peter 1:7
[7] That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

The street is paved with Faith which is more precious to God than gold. Faith tried in a fire and Faith which does not perish as gold perishes. Without Faith it is impossible to please God.

The foundation. Ephesians 2:20
[20] And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone ;[21] In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: [22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Revelation 4:2-3
[2] And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. [3] And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

There was a rainbow round about the throne...consider it is NOT a literal rainbow but the gospel of mercy to men.

Genesis 9:12-16 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: [13] I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. [14] And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: [15] And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. [16] And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

The bow shall be in the clouds...every time a cloud comes over the earth the bow can be seen...God will look upon this bow which is around His throne ...seen over it which is Mercy in the Son. The Son is the token between God and the earth which He will look upon in remembrance. (Consider the cloud of witnesses where the bow can be seen.)

Hebrews 11:1-3
[1] Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [2] For by it the elders obtained a good report. [3] Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

One thing is for sure, it will be astoundingly beautiful!
Will it? What would such a "beautiful" be, in that case?

Are we not told all through the Bible not to judge worth and beauty by Earthly standards? And, was it not written of Jesus, Himself, that He was not handsome, that people would be attracted to Him for His looks?

And, are we not told to desire things "Above", rather that the beauty and riches found on this Earth? (Like gemstones)

I think we are often so shallow in how we relate Jesus' analogies to actual Earthly things.

I'm just going by the Apostle Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 12:4---> "...that I was caught up to paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be expressed in words, things no human is allowed to tell." Paradise was, in the Hebraic mind, a place of unparalleled beauty--a delightful garden. No sin, death or disease to mar its perfection. I also think that our glorified bodies will be perfected--no disfiguring illness or genetic lack of perfection.
