This board is filled with bad news....you can’t miss it!

Are you one of the elect? Is your doctrine correct enough to save you? Is the rapture going to leave you behind? Do you belong to a cult? Are the foundational doctrinal beliefs of Christianity wrong?! Are we smarter and more doctrinally literate than the apostolic Fathers? Do we need to continually redo the way we do church so that we can imitate the early church? Is your church too big? Is your church too small? Is church simply evil?

It goes on and on.

So where’s the Good News? How are we any different than the BS found in the secular news? Psychopathy, antisocial comments, general negativity, fatalism, moral compromise.....

Love God.
Love your neighbor as yourself.

This is the simple gospel that has been transforming souls since the Garden. Everything else is straw......

Very true. What is even more distressing is that absurdities are on a steep rise. Was there ever a time when so many would resort to so many absurdities?

But you've made a good point. The Good News is the Glad Tidings of Great Joy -- that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.

You echo my own thoughts here .

We already have one given the job of Accuser Of The Brethren. Yet read these boards it does seem that many (not just a few) come on this Site for the very purpose of pulling down, judging and correcting those who are supposed to be “their brethren” yikes.

I think I hear the Lord groaning. “Jesus wept”.

I'm so with you on this one Ron! This board has gotten so mean spirited since I first came on a year ago. And as Hisman said, about the "accuser of the brethren", it's like we have been infiltrated by Satan's demons!

I'm sorry for contributing mandela effect. That is probably the worse thing I ever shared on this site.

Yes, I have read some pretty sour things...my hope is to be a light of good news in the world, and I hope personally on this board I have shared this in my own walk. I may struggle with anxiety and have a bucketload to learn. But Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose again. I love Him and others and I want to share that. And there are a number of people on here I see God's light shine from also. I resolve to pray for this board more, because this definitely caught my attention when I came on here. To me, this is better then others I have been on. Of course it is going to be attacked. Usually spiritual warfare is a sign something is going right. I just havent been called to leave here yet.

Amen to what everyone has said.
It's sad isn't it.
It is like we , (as Paul says ,) we are ONE Body...but some of "the body" seem to be gleefully pulling out teeth, ripping off fingernails, and generally pulling the body of christ a part trying to destroy the faith of others...while all the time not realising that they too are part of the Body, thus they seek to destroy themselves!!!!!
In layman's terms today, isn't that called ' Self Harming' :oops:.

Lord be merciful to Your foolish people. ✟

We are all in a way moderators. Perhaps the answer lies in Matthew 18:

"If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."

Agree. And I never ever used to use the Report button...but this year I have started using it when things get nasty.

I think our response in situations like this is to love first, provide a good example, and give advice if necessary.

My preference is to speak the truth, and...if possible, in love :)
(actually, speaking the truth is loving compared to allowing someone to wallow in error).

We all need to pursue Philippians 4.8. :)

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
