The metaphorical *thorn* was in *the flesh* (Paul's body). It was NOT an evil spirit but a serious physical disability -- perhaps poor eyesight, perhaps being crippled.

So when God told Israel the the nations would be "thorns in their sides " if they did cast them out of the Promised Land...He real meant to physically they would have a problem in their bodies...Oh come on Enoch...No way!!
Paul was using a well known phrase.

... the thorn as a metaphor breaks down as a
thorn is a separate entity from the flesh (Paul's body). So how can a disability in the body be separate from the body?
Therefore, the thorn has to be something alien to the body causing the torment, and perhaps causing the disability as you stated.

I agree that evil spirits can cause disabilities, but that doesn't prove Paul's thorn wasn't an external evil spirit hindering him.
Brilliant!

You folks honestly believe that demons could hang around Paul?

Yes, Demons "hang around" all of us...the saved and the unsaved alike... ...looking for a foot-hole and a hook into our lives...that is why taught -

Eph 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. "
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God"

Yes Paul knew what he was doing when he taught the church how to stand against the Enemy.

Paul knew what spiritual warfare was...
If you have never encountered any demonic around you house or your kids ...or your extended family..then your discernment is broken brother. :)

C.S Lewis knew a thing or two when he wrote -" The Screwtape Letters"
Satan teaching lower demons how to harass and destroy christians.

For sure, "and do not give the devil a foothold." Ephesians 4:27

pauls thorn in the flesh was his adversaries

something that irritated paul’s flesh? A Thorn ... to remind Paul constantly God's grace is sufficient. 2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

The messenger of satan served Paul, not Paul served the messenger.. in keeping Paul from being lifted higher than: His Grace is sufficient.

itreally does not say what it was.. i dont see it as health i see it more of the opposition he had in the ministry. even though he knew very well what was ahead of him. there had to be lonely times being in jail. horse whipped stoned lied about . imo paul was a tough man but also man of feelings.

If one reads through Paul's letters it may be discerned that he rarely, of ever, wrote them personally. He even mentioned in one that his readers would without doubt be surprised he had personally wrote a portion of one. He would sign them personally, maybe add the doxology, but as far as can be seen used his secretary. And a different person depending on where he was.
I agree with Enoch... He had poor eye sight. At one stage he praised his readers at one church for their generosity, even suggesting that if it were possible, they would have given him their own eyes.

Uno I have 2 mention dis and I don't mean dis in a derogatory way but this is 2 the women. when ever I watch a preaching video and a male preacher is preaching loudly which he is called 2 do many times there would be a woman who would come up 2 the preacher and say why are you shouting!! as if he's doing something wrong. I'm sorry but women dats how our voices are, us men are gritty and rugid, after all we came from the dust right!! and u women came from adams rib inside the body dats why ur meek and slender, us men have wider vocal cords dats why our voice are deeper, u have norrow vocal cords dats why ur voices are high pitched. sorry, I know alot of women are effected by it but dats just the way it is, its how God has made it, in the old times it was way more common and women didn't complain coz they were accustomed 2 it, and now its rare!! just gotta grow some thick skin I guess.

I get his message, but it was just too too much shouting, for me. But thanks.
Same here. He needs to calm down and also think about what he's saying before it comes out of his mouth. He said Balaam was a king? Did he really say that?

What's he upset about anyway? There may be people out there cursing, but it will come to nothing. God is still on His throne.
