It is not; for Jesus visibly ascended into heaven. Therefore, "in like manner" means that He is returning visibly. "And every eye shall see Him, even those who pierced Him."

He is coming back with all of His piercings.

Jesus turned to them and said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children,

for indeed, the days are coming when people will say, 'Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed.'

At that time people will say to the mountains, 'Fall upon us!' and to the hills, 'Cover us!'

for if these things are done when the wood is green what will happen when it is dry?"

Indeed, God has said in every form to every person, “Awake up! Come forth and be healed.

But this world is a "created" world, a "likeness" (even hypothetical) of that which is true on high. When the word says "It is written", it is not just saying that it is written in the scriptures, but also that these things, this creation, this world, is a form of media with God--that what is real and actual is hidden in God until the end. So do not be dismayed by what seems so real in the world, when in God's reality, we are all mere sketches of what actually is...and none are lost, except the son of perdition.

Pray for one another.

As for my quoting the verse from Daniel regarding us all awaking to the everlasting: It was to point out that contrary to what some teach, we do not awake in our flesh, or even glorified flesh, but rather in the perfection of God whom is spirit, which should be considered more and greater, rather than less, as those who walk in the flesh are prone to think. This they do because the flesh has interpreted what men saw of Jesus' ascension and what the angel of the Lord said, saying the He would return in "like manner." But with those who walk in the flesh, "like manner" is flesh; and yet to those who walk in the spirit "like manner" is spirit. For what is of the spirit, men of flesh cannot see, nor did they...and thus, it has been taught by many incorrectly. But we who are aware of what is flesh and what is spirit, are to increase in knowledge, and discern that Jesus did not ascend as the first Adam (in the flesh), but as the Last Adam (a life-giving spirit).

Pray for one another.

Matthew 3:16
[16] And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Luke 3:22 And the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Found “bodily” there significant?

Colossians 2:9-11
[9] For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. [10] And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: [11] In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

In this manifest world..."bodily" form is to be expected. Nonetheless, there is an natural body and there is a spiritual body. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the spirit is spirit.

I hope you didn’t think that was meant against “Has Jesus come in the Spirit” but was instead meant to support the topic. The “Bodily” form being the fulness of the Godhead. Complete in him. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

You said something a while back that stuck with me...why would He lower himself again?

That's because Scott does not understand, believe, or accept the fact the Chris will NOT lower Himself again, but come with power and great glory. Accompanied by myriads of saints and angels.

A frightful sight to behold for those who love not the truth and have pleasure in unrighteousness. He will come with flaming fire to take vengeance on His enemies.

He never exalted Himself.

Context is critical. Those who are presently witnesses (in Heaven) will literally accompany Christ FROM Heaven to earth at His second coming, and He will come with power and great glory.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Mt 24:30)

Raul Reis was jealous because it wasn't him (a Calvary Chapel joke).

Except in us (Christ in us), He will not lower Himself again (the Word become flesh and a light into darkness), for he said, "It is finished."

Not sure on the “lowering”. His body is here. 2 Corinthians 4:7-12 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. [8] We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; [9] Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; [10] Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. [11] For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. [12] So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

Luke 22:25-27
[25] And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. [26] But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. [27] For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

Christ "lowering" Himself and coming in the flesh, He did by becoming a man "a little lower than the angels." But this He did "once for all", so the idea that He would do it again is against the scriptures, against Jesus saying "It is finished", and against the belief that He has already come in the flesh according to the witness of those whom He has sent out as His witnesses. The very idea is against Christ--it is anti-Christ.

Christ has come in the flesh already. Now is not the time to be looking to the earth and down, but to "look up for our redemption draws near."

Went right over my head...

Is there a point you are trying to make, @amadeus?
