Just read Revelation 20:2-3 very carefully. You keep saying that, but where does it say ONLY?
Revelation 20:5 could not b e clearer;
If what is described in Revelation and in any of the other prophesies, can be literally fulfilled and nothing like it has happened in the past, then to arbitrarily dismiss those prophesies is a serous mistake. No one can just say; that's just 'word pictures', that have no significance to what will happen some time in the future. What if we, as I do believe; are at the edge of these things taking place?
We Christians should not be in the dark about God's plans for our future. 1 Thess 5:4-5
The Millennium will be for 1000 years Rev 20 mentions it 6 times. It will be the 'Sabbath' period for mankind and the earth, as 6000 years exactly will have passed since Adam until Jesus Returns.
We must read the prophesies using our common sense. So Jesus has a sword coming out of his mouth and when in heaven takes the form of a Lamb standing as if it has been slain. There are thousands of people under the throne and prayers are stored in bowls. Revelation depicts things we donot understand and to say the only interpretation that is valid is a literal one puts you at risk of adding to scripture.
We must read the prophesies using our common sense.
I never said that we must strictly literalize everything. What can be fulfilled literally; will be, and what is allegory and metaphor, is usually easily explained.
Jesus' Sword is the Sword of His Word. It is the SOULS of people under the Altar in heaven; a spiritual concept, as are the bowls.
I disagree the Revelation says things that cannot be understood. In all the rest of the Bible, there are many references to the events given chronologically in Revelation.
It is people who have already decided what they want God to do for them, who have a problem with the prophesies.
Agreed! Jesus will come again! But He will Return to a very different world than how it is at present. We Christians should know and be prepared for what must happen.
Not necessarily.so it follows that the period of his restraint is equally a picture of a period of time.
Just read Revelation 20:2-3 very carefully.
Those verses specify exactly who will be resurrected by Jesus at Hs Return, the Trib martyrs: ONLY.
But the rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years are finished.
Any notions of a general resurrection then, just contradicts this and is a false teaching.
But Paul doesn't tell us exactly when his prophecy in 1 Corinthians 15:50-56, takes place. This is the mystery that Paul is going to tell us; when this event shall take place.
Obviously, those martyrs resurrected at Jesus Return, CAN die a second death. They are not made immortal, Rev 20:4 does not say that.Revelation 20:6 "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."
We saw that those who took part in the first resurrection were those who died in the Lord, and those who did not yield to Satan, the Antichrist during his "one world" reign. Those who did not take the Antichrist's "mark of the beast", these are the blessed and holy ones. All of these people already will possess an immortal soul during the Millennium.
Yes those who have proved their faith and trust in Jesus, will be His priests and will rule peoples during the Millennium. Isaiah 66:21, Revelation 5:10 Nowhere does the Bible say they will be immortal then. What are you going to do in the Millennium as a saint of Christ? You're going to be priests of God, and reign with Him. You are going to teach and oversee, and judge those mortal souls, as they will learn and follow all directives of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I suggest, n2thelight, that you and all who grip onto the idea of a 'rapture to heaven', or any 'glorification of your body', that you seriously reconsider what the Bible really does tell us will happen in the soon to happen end time events.
Sorry for any confusion, I did think you were a post tribber.I don't believe in the rapture at all,Pre Mid or Post .We gather to Christ at His one and only 2nd coming.
However before He returns if you die you return to the Father as Paul stated we shall not all sleep(die)but we shall ALL be changed.
The flesh simply will not exist in the millennium period!!!
Sorry for any confusion, I did think you were a post tribber.
Pauls prophecy in 1 Corinthians 15:50-56 does not say when this change will happen. But we know it happens after the Millennium from Revelation 20:11-15 and Revelation 21:1-7.
The few prophesies about the Millennium, make it clear that there will be normal human existence and death during the Millennium. Isaiah 65:20
The armies of the world who attack Jesus, Revelation 20:7-10, are killed by fire. They are humans, so your idea of only spiritual beings on earth for the Millennium, cannot be correct.
However, this isn't a Salvation issue and we do seem to have much in common. I look forward to meeting you in the holy Land. Zechariah 3:10
