No, I don't think the cup had real blood in it, but He meant something of a...parable with the bread and wine there. Using temporal things to...describe what He was about to do and who He was and why He came..

the blood of the grape was chosen bc it turns into wine in three days, maybe? i remem doing that one...there was or is a guy avatar "granpa" i think and "distilled wine" might get one to his study. Knew him on City Data i think it was. Never figured out why they banned me, all i can do is access and pm there to this day. The Father allowed His Son to die as an offering to the evil of this world...to show it for what it was...evil. God came to us in the weakness of the flesh...and the evil powers took advantage of that...just as God foresaw. I keep contradictions on a shelf to come back to later when I sense the Spirit wants to unravel the contradiction. I had one contradiction on the shelf for 30 years! But finally it was solved, and the truth behind it was mind blowing!

I guess I view it as His blood to buy us back to God, to give us a way to God. But it doesn't just stop there. It seems to me that a lot of people just see it as the end, when it is a beginning.

So...His shedding of blood was for a purpose. But that purpose was to make an end of transgression, not so that transgression would continue.

It is ALL about Jesus. The law, the prophets. Jesus Himself said it was. He said He came to fulfill what the law and the prophets spoke. He said the law and the prophets spoke of Him and yet here He was and they refused to come to Him. (My paraphrase). And on Emmaus road He appeared to the two men and it says: And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

I'm not saying I can see and understand where He is in all of the law and prophets. I wish I had been on Emmaus road and heard Him or that the two men had written it all down, but it is all about Him.

I believe the transgression being spoken of in "to put an end to transgression" is begun in Genesis and continues through the prophets and to Jesus being put to death. I believe it is...an insurrection and an attempt to steal Gods creation and rule it. I believe the transgression was a coup, an uprising.

I see those who are pricked in the heart by His sacrifice being grateful, even if they don't have an complete or even correct understanding. Regardless, I see them receiving it as a gift, fully understanding that the result is eternal life.

Yes, I do. I think it's all about Him. Quite hidden from my understanding mostly, but yes, about Him. I don't claim to understand it all, but I believe He bought us back for God And I think it's amazing that one man could cause such misery and destruction but that one other man could give a way out of it. But there is a crisp fairness about it.
