Good one Helen, I'm kind of dry in my prayers lately and I HATE it, I KNOW the power in prayer yet, sometimes I just cannot get the words out. Sure wish I had the gift of tongues so as to pray that way.
Nevertheless, the prayers are still in my heart and mind and, I do believe He will honor even our attempts.

I used to pray in tongues Nancy but don't seem to be able to now like I did. I think I have become inhibited by all the negative talk on here.

Oh yes Pat, this place is chock full of no it all's, sarcasm and downright presumptuous nastiness. They think they can see a persons hear! This is a place I come for fellowship more than learning, I can get my teachings from many other sources and nobody on here seems to agree an every single thing when it comes to Scripture. The negativity is heart breaking, nobody can hurt as much as another "so called" brother or sister can. I'm a firm believer in loving our siblings in Christ no matter what. There are ways to be kind and still get your point across. If one does not agree with another, fine...take it to the debate forum and argue and sling dung there. It's almost like so many nasty people on here take joy in their attitudes and hope others will go to Hell as they place themselves on God's throne and judge, judge and judge some-more. We are not a perfect people, we will get things wrong, EVERYONE will. If we are fulfilling the two commands Jesus gave us, then we show that we certainly DO love Him, regardless our denomination. People, so many on here just want to be RIGHT and they are no help in times of need. We should be blessing and praying for those we encounter on here but it always seems some just want to attack ones character and namecall. NOT very Christ like IMO.
God Bless abundantly!

Oh well found Nancy!! Love it...
It reminds me of Michael Molinos ( lived about 1500 something I think..
A mystic ...his book The Spiritual Guide I found right on when I read it a couple of decades ago. He was all for inward silent prayer. ( not even speaking, just listening..)

(The Pope had him walled up in a cell for his belief the regular people to speak to and hear from God )

a quote :-
“Seek silence in the midst of the tumult, seek solitude in the masses, light in the midst of darkness; find forgetfulness in injury, victory in the midst of despondence, and courage in the midst of alarm, resistance in the midst of temptation, peace in the midst of war.”
― Michael Molinos, The Spiritual Guide

No way Pat! (((Hugs.)))

Don't allow the shadow of anyone here to block your relationship and dialogue with Father. That is giving them power over you..

I walk up and down our hallway speaking in tongues...why I find walking better than sitting or kneeling I have no idea. :D xx

I hated it when they put me in the MRI scanner and couldn't do it. After the third attempt and two Valium tablets I managed it but sang in tongues at the top of my voice the whole time. I keep trying to get back to the gift of tongues being part of my everyday prayer life but I get nowhere. Any suggestions for praying for it come back?

"He led them forth by the right way.

He found [Jacob] in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: so the Lord alone did lead him. — Even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

The Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. — For this GOD is our GOD for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death. Who teacheth like him?"

When that happened to Dave at the very beginning ...a good friend told him it is just a matter of getting out of the boat.

Jesus has said "Come"...all Peter ended to do was step out of the boat and walk toward Jesus.

We sometime emphasize that Peter looked at the waves and 'began' to sink.
The main message is ..Peter didn't sink...he responded to "Come" and Peter walked upon the water toward Jesus .... :)

As the quote goes about any battle the Enemy throws at us, "If you have to, do it, and do it afraid, ...but do it.."

Far easier just to talk to Jesus, He loves to hear out stories just as any Good friend would, is ears are always open to those who trust Him, well actually anyone who would but call Him really,

I agree, but the MRI was so noisy it called for LOUD singing.
