Some may think they're the same thing, but I agree with you they aren't. I think it's strange to believe people are doomed "eternally."
well, we are conditioned to accept "eternally" as "forever" right, when it really means more like "age-long" or even "forever, as far as you are concerned?" So i dunno, ok, but i suggest that our desire to be immortal has led to that pov, and that if some more Scripture were taken into account a better pov might resolve.
We ought not to think however that just because they failed in that lifetime, they were doomed eternally. That is foolishness when Paul tells us all Israel will be saved.
you were just saying that you dont belive eternal and forever equate, then why say this?

There is another passage in the Torah that shows souls exist before being born in human bodies. At Sinai, humans with physical bodies took the vow, but others also took it.

Deuteronomy 29:14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;
15 But with him that standeth here with us this day before the Lord our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:
"others" also took it? ok, um what are they then, who is the "him" in that v iyo?

It seems everyone is taught that. I'm not sure who came up with that idea, but it seems almost everyone confuses the two. You could be right about the craving for immortality.

well tbh i think Scripture is written with that craving of ours in mind, but it does directly contravene the pov in many places; we just choose to ignore those places, and we disseminate the ones that seem to fwd the pov, thus revealing ourselves more or less. "Before you were under the olive tree, I knew you" or whatever might as easily be referring to spirit, rather than soul?

seems like mostly or exclusively Emperors, Pharaohs, and Caesars? Iow insane ppl, basically?

Scripture teaches that Children come from Hell. That means you, I and everyone else came from there.

The question is...

How did we end up there in the first place?

Let's begin with a few relative verses in order for us to being solving this Mystery...

Matthew 23:15
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves"

In the above verse, we see Jesus Himself claiming that Children come from Hell... literally.

On top of that, Jesus seems to indicate that the Proselyte is going to have this happen to them more than one time by the use of the word 'twofold'.

In other words, they will be birthed twice into this world. Is there a limit to how many times this can occur?

What about good people? Seems being born from Hell only happens to Pharisee and hypocrite type folk.

Lets see...

Psalms 139:15
"My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth"

Wait... is that King David saying that?

I think it's safe to assume that the 'Lowest Parts of the Earth' is a reference to Hell. So why would this David fellow be born from there?

The verse is literally teaching us that Hell is a parable for Womb!!! Is this misogyny against Women?

Let's keep digging...

The word 'Pit' can be viewed as another reference to Hell...

Revelation 11:7
"And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them"

But look at this...

Isaiah 51:1
"Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged"

The above verse clearly shows righteous people being birthed from the 'Pit'.

Who is the Pit? Sarah!

Isaiah 51:2
"Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him"

No misogyny here. Sarah is a Virtuous Woman.

I suppose we now know where the Beast is going to come from. It will be birthed from the Pit... aka... the Womb!

OK, one more...

Now that we know the 'Lowest Parts of the Earth' is referring to the Womb, we can apply this Wisdom to the next verse...

Ephesians 4:9
"Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?"

We all know that the above verse is speaking of Jesus, but wait...

Aren't we all taught that Jesus went to Hell... as in a "place of eternal torments"?

Apparently not. Jesus descended into Mary's Womb... aka... the Lower Parts of the Earth...

John 3:13
"And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven"

John 6:38
"For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me"

Seems someone is hiding the simple Truth from you good people eh?

Could it be... Satan?

when you are born into the world you are not born into or of the Light of God are you? hence the requirement for being "born again" or "born of Spirit" the Holy Spirit.

hence since you are not born into the Light there is only darkness left, hence these people and Jesus understand that only God can save them from there destiny without the Almighties Mercy on their souls, except for Jesus of course, He is from Heaven, and men born of Adam are not.

Jesus is "only begotten" (Jhn 1:18, Jhn: 3:16) of the Father, men are not.

so, i guess a caduceus is actually two snakes wrapped around a pole, and one means something else technically?
Thanks for visiting and commenting. DNA references in the Bible are numerous and it's quite a large subject.

I'll post some primers if you or anyone else wants to discuss further...

Single Serpent = RNA
Double Serpent = DNA

The Serpent on a Pole can represent RNA, but it can also represent a Chromatid. The Bible has a way of re-using themes to produce repeating patterns.

As Christians, we know that the Serpent on a Pole was a foreshadow of the death of Jesus on the Cross. It's when we begin to link the two events, we find incredible correlations with Mankind's RNA/DNA.

Since the Cross is made of two 'poles', we can deduce that the Cross is representative of two Chromatids joined together. We call this a Chromosome...

full

Jesus would represent the DNA inside.

Since Jesus is the Word of God, that would mean that DNA is also the Word of God. We know this is True, because we have Scripture proving this...

Psalms 139:16
"Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them"

DNA is the 'Book of Life' that writes all of our Members. According to the above verse, God is the owner. BTW, re-writing God's copyright is what the Mark of the Beast is all about... a new identity.

To further prove that the Word of God is RNA/DNA, we have another Witness...

John 1:14
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth"

DNA is the Word made flesh. Here is where the Serpent comes in...

Psalms 22:6
"But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people"

Many Christians link the above verse to Jesus dying on the cross. In other words, the Serpent on a Pole...

“Christ may be said to have been a worm. with respect to the mean and poor condition in which he lived; but especially to that kind of death which he suffered; for he was stripped of his clothes, and fixed upon the cross, naked as a worm of the earth.”

Psalm 22:6 Commentaries: But I am a worm and not a man, A reproach of men and despised by the people.

The word 'Worm' in Scripture has a dual meaning. Yes, it could mean a slithering creature, but it also refers to RNA/DNA...

Isaiah 41:14
"Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel"

This is a great example of why context is important. What does 'Worm' mean?

Isaiah 41:8
"But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend"

RNA/DNA is Seed. In other words, the Worm represents Seed.

In an even deeper meaning, the Worm is the part of our Spirit that never dies...

Mark 9:44
"Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched"

In Ezekiel, we have a picture of the Caduceus or Two Stranded DNA...

Ezekiel 37:19
"Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand"

Two Sticks becoming One is a picture of DNA at the Moment of Conception...

Ephesians 5:31
"For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh"

Interesting fact...

Our RNA/DNA is made of Phosphorus. The Greek word for Phosphorus is Lucifer. This is what the Stones of Fire are...

Ezekiel 28:14
"Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire"

Thus, the Seat of Satan is in our very DNA...

full

When Genesis refers to the Seed of the Serpent, it's literally referring to the Male Seed. The Seed of the Woman is the Female Seed... the Ovum. God put 'enmity' or division between the two. The phrase "Ye are of your Father the Devil" is literal. We all have his DNA.

Look...

Job 17:14
"I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister"

Job's 'worm' is referencing RNA/DNA.

As I've pointed out in other posts, Advanced Biology is woven throughout the Bible...

Because RNA/DNA is the Word of God and the Word of God is a Witness, we can link this to the Two Witnesses...

Revelation 11:3
"And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth"

What is the point of the Two Witnesses? l will give a brief overview...

The Two Witnesses are ultimately representative of DNA. They will appear at a point when the DNA of Mankind becomes very corrupt...

Luke 17:26
"And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man"

What happened in the Days of Noe?

Genesis 6:12
"And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth"

Flesh... i.e... DNA was corrupted. It was manipulated. We call this Genetic Engineering. This is only thing that makes God so angry as to destroy most or all life on this planet. Again, many Christians are blind to this. I hope for your sake in this forum you are not ignorant of these facts.

Thus, when God destroys the Earth by fire, it will be because of Transhumansim... aka... the Mark of the Beast.

The Two Witnesses will no doubt have nothing good to say about Mankind 2.0 (those that take the Mark) and they will hate the Two Witnesses for obvious reasons.

So then, if we follow the clues as to what the Two Witnesses represent, we will have the evidence to prove this case.

Revelation 11:4
"These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth"

Olive Trees represent Genetics in the Bible. This next verse speaks of Genetic Engineering...

Romans 11:24
"For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?"

We call the above verse, Gene Splicing. However, this will be done by God and not Man.

The Candlestick represents Mitochondrial DNA. When we put it together, we have something like this...

full

We can see the Serpent vs. Pole theme in the above slide.

This is where Zechariah comes in...

Zechariah 4:12
"And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?"

When we add the above to our data, we find the entire chapter is a picture of a Chromosome...

but then we should surely stop equating eternally with forever anyway, since they never meant the same thing anyway? I came that you might have death, more abundantly? See i cant find that one g

not all who are born Israel are of Israel, i guess. And you have imo accepted a definition of "saved" that cannot be Supported by Scripture bro

questions about “the seven churches in Revelation as representing Christians in their seven incarnations.” Not sure I understand there. It begins with “he that hath an ear let him hear” which implies Spirit where there is neither male or female, Greek or Jew. Is Spirit (Elohim) reincarnated? is Elohim not the focus of he who has an ear let him hear the Spirit. the manifestation in others in the word through-out time and even in the Fruits of the Spirit today does not necessarily mean that Elohim is reincarnated but continuance. Elohim, singular Eloah, (Hebrew: God), the God of Israel in the Old Testament. ... When referring to Yahweh, elohim very often is accompanied by the article ha-, to mean, in combination, “the God,” and sometimes with a further identification Elohimḥayyim, meaning “the living God.”

Ephesians 2:18
[18] For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

I would say No, but I might be misunderstanding you

I don’t know. Maybe I’m misunderstanding you. When the deaf hear. Or hear what the Spirit says ...would it not be that which is born of Spirit spoken to otherwise how does any hear what the Spirit says? 1Corinthians 2:13-14
[13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. [14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Same old tired debates happening in this thread...

Does "For Ever" mean forever?

A debate that ends with the Love of God giving the Unsaved another chance.

When are Christians going to let go of their HATRED for Humanity?

Annihilation? Eternal Torments? Those are the ONLY choices? Really?

Says who? Not the Word of God, that's for sure.

Wake up Brothers and Sisters. The entire World knows that your Doctrine is false.

You lost me here, no need to read more. The verse you quoted says nothing about children coming from hell. It's about the Pharisees living as the devil's children instead of Gods. I have never heard anyone interpret it in such a bizarre way.
