I asked Jesus into my heart as a child and knew nothing of this, none of which affects my walk with Christ who saved me and has kept me to this very day. :)

I am going back to bed, saddened by they way Christianity is being destroyed with talk of morality and Mosaic Law, that for the believer ended with Christ. Speak to you later.

Interesting something spoke to me and showed me my truth and I had no choice but to agree. No prior knowledge of any laws .



Given to jews...

It was the same with Israel. When they were freed from bondage and slavery in Egypt they had no idea of God's laws either... So within 3 months God took them to Sinai.
Now you may ask, now that I'm a Christian, do I need to keep laws? Of course you do. They are God's laws... Not Israel's laws. The ten commandments are the foundation of God's government... God's kingdom... And if He is your King, then His laws apply to you as one of His subjects. The issue isn't about whether we should obey God. It is about how we obey Him. Israel sought to do it by their own promise to obey. And they failed constantly as we all know. How we obey God is through faith in His promises to us.
We trust in His promise of the holy Spirit a abiding within... We become partakers of the Divine nature. We are filled with His Spirit...His love... So through life and walking in His power, Spirit, and strength, we love Him and our neighbors, and love fulfills the law. Obedience through love. Then when we look at the law, and we discover that we are falling short in any area such as lust or covetousness, what do we do? Try harder? Be more determined to do better next time? No. We admit our failings, plead with God for more strength from Him, trust Him to answer and keep his promises, and we them gain the victory because we are empowered to love more.

He has written them on my heart, especially after at the age of 25, going through two amber lights in a row and being fined and having to sit my licence all over again!

She was our dearly loved puddy cat, Daisy, from 2001 to 2019, and has sadly passed away. We have two others - our ginger ninja, and our brown bomber Burmese. I guess that we are Cataholics!

Daisy was in the process of telling me that it was about time she was fed, and why not before now?????

I learned the lesson when I used a pin to find my Scripture verse for the day. On my first attempt I got "And Judas went out and hanged himself"; but I thought that isn't right. I'll try again. On my next attempt I got, "Go and do thou likewise!"

There are things that are written to the Jews under the Old Covenant, which are there for our education. Just because Elijah prayed and called down fire from heaven onto the altar, doesn't mean that we can as well. Also, he killed the 400 prophets of Baal. That also doesn't mean that we should get a gun and kill all the false prophets we can lay our hands on. But we learn that God has awesome power that He can cause fire to come out of nowhere and burn up the altar and everything on it with a heat that even the stones of the altar were consumed. And we also see the reflection of God's hatred for idolatry that He was prepared to take the lives of 400 people for it. And the young prophet who destroyed Jereboam's altar and was told to go straight home but stayed the night at an older prophet's home, was punished by having a group of lions kill him. That doesn't mean that we will die by being killed by lions if we disobey God's Word (although a comedian was ridiculing God and said that if God didn't like it He could strike him down dead, and a very short time later he died!). And just because children make fun of bald guys (like me) it doesn't mean that they will be killed by bears, as the children who abused Elisha. All these things are written for our education.

Even the teaching of Jesus to the unconverted Jews was to show their sinfulness in spite of them keeping the outward rules of the Law. Most of what He taught was for us but not necessarily directly to us.

But when we read the letters of Paul, Peter, John, Judge, and the Apostle to the Hebrews, we see that most of it is written to us as instructions to get us saved and on the road to developmental sanctification, and to provide an unhypocritical testimony for Jesus in the world around us.

And they still rejected the Messiah Jesus standing right there in front of them !

But those to whom the Father granted repentance,
those to whom the Father opened their minds to understand Scripture, (whether disciple, scribe, pharisee, whoever),
those to whom the Father circumcised their hearts,
"little children"
the Father rejoiced in, and it is and was His Good Pleasure to Reveal Salvation To.

Are you not the one insisting that. Not having a law, does not make people bad, people are bad with or without laws, Are you bad ??? Do you need a big stick swinging at you to behave yourself, is that who you are. If you are than you know not Love.

Few children are raised in the way they should go, as written.

Without training, without guidance, without the Father accomplishing salvation, it is not accomplished.

Without a 'babysitter', without training, without scourging, without discipline,
the little boy has foolishness bound up in his heart (as written), and woe to him later in life.

"Strict discipline is necessary for life".... not optional.

When we are living our lives in Christ, we are living by the providence of God, so that nothing happens to us by chance or accident. I had to learn the road rules in my heart and that is the way that God did it.

The Scribes and Pharisees had a set idea of who the Messiah should be. They had it that their Messiah would come in awesome power and kick the Romans out. Maybe they took it from the prophecy in Daniel 7. But they missed the wording of the prophecy in Isaiah 53 which spoke of their Messiah being born in Bethlehem, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, who was rejected of men, and crucified. The Pharisees searched the Scriptures for sure, but they added their interpretations to it to suit their personal image of God instead of the true God of the Bible. This is true of many professing Christians and those of the pseudo-christian cults. They filtered the Scriptures through their religious filter-paper and came out with what they believed the Scriptures said, rather than what it says literally.

Any of us can do the same, and I have found over my 50 years in the faith that I have often filtered the Scriptures through what my church at the time believed, and I had to amend my theology when I found out that I was actually wrong, especially as a Charismatic seeing that many doctrines and practices are missing from the New Testament.

Paul said that he realised he was bad when he saw in the Law that he was. He said that he didn't know sin until the Law showed him his sin. He saw the standards of the Law and though he was blameless in his outward observance of them, in his heart he wasn't following God's moral law of loving Him and others as he would love himself. He saw that he was a murderer, persecutor of God's people, and looking at women with lust. When the Holy Spirit showed him through the Law, he realised that he was a sinful person needing the mercy and grace of God.

So people are bad without the knowledge of the law, and it is the revealing of the law to them that makes them realise that they are bad. It is like me coming over the the USA and still driving on the left side of the road as I have done in NZ. Then I read the US road rules and realise that I am breaking the law, so I correct my driving before some officer pulls me over and points his big gun at me!

Oh so now we judge people, or was it that what I wrote offended you.And by the way it is not my own idea,

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Rom 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

So before the law we still had good and bad people, Look as all that came before Noah.

Why do so many have problems with grace,. oh thats right, grace isnt about self, earning your way to heaven, and getting a pat on the back from dad.
