well, i believe that when we pick up our crosses and follow, we are too i guessDo you not believe that Jesus is the Christ?

Matthew 7:7-8.hmm. Imo the "forgiveness" is implied in the question, or at least the lack of condemnation, but it is interesting to me that "ask God for forgiveness" or even "ask for forgiveness" period are not found in Scripture! weird huh. Personally i would confess your sins, one to another and expect Mithraists to crucify you for it, as they are wont to do right
yet inneresting how our "Christian" belief in life, more abundantly has mostly been mixed with the Cult of Sol belief in a place called "heaven" that may only be attained after we die, huhThat is talking about an idol made of brass; not the Person of the Son of God!
There is only one Christ.well, i believe that when we pick up our crosses and follow, we are too i guess
God being no respecter of persons did not give us passage the end of our road with nothing required on our part. Rather Jesus was sent to open up the possibility so we could choose for ourselves what Adam chose or we could choose a better way. When a better way is chosen it needs to be traveled all the way to the end. Help is provided as needed and when requested by us.God forgives people when they repent. That's easy. However there are complications in this world. Adam's offense brought death into the world. Is it fair that all Adam's offspring should be punished for his offense? No, it isn't; and Jesus, the second adam, can and does fix that for us.
If there are similarities they are merely coincidental.yet inneresting how our "Christian" belief in life, more abundantly has mostly been mixed with the Cult of Sol belief in a place called "heaven" that may only be attained after we die, huh
There is complete forgiveness in the blood of Christ.God being no respecter of persons did not give us passage the end of our road with nothing required on our part. Rather Jesus was sent to open up the possibility so we could choose for ourselves what Adam chose or we could choose a better way. When a better way is chosen it needs to be traveled all the way to the end. Help is provided as needed and when requested by us.
go with that then, but you still cannot Quote "ask God for forgiveness," and i suggest again that forgiveness is completely irrelevant, forgiveness for believing the wrong thing will not correct or mitigate the consequences, and we can read that "all is forgiven" anyway rightMatthew 7:7-8.
Since the primary thing we need is forgiveness, it follows that if we ask the Lord for it He will give it to us.
well, you can say that, but wadr that does not make it true, and i think we are Priests, with a High Priest, right? There is only one Christ.
If anyone says that they are Christ (other than the Lord Himself) they are in place of Christ and against Christ--anti-Christ.
To be forgiven for believing the wrong thing, one must believe the right thing.forgiveness for believing the wrong thing will not correct or mitigate the consequences,
edited the post (#184). Truth is not relativewell, you can say that, but wadr that does not make it true, and i think we are Priests, with a High Priest, right?
and fwiw "Christ" was first the title of the Pharaohs and the Caesars, so that term would have carried a diff meaning then anyway i guess. Gandhi is surely perceived as a "savior" to the Indians, and i would say rightly so?
i dunno, Adam and Eve did not evince any belief in the right thing, and i detect no condemnation for them? Consequences certainly, but lack of forgiveness? To be forgiven for believing the wrong thing, one must believe the right thing.
Adam and Eve put their trust in the promise of Messiah in Genesis 3:15.i dunno, Adam and Eve did not evince any belief in the right thing, and i detect no condemnation for them? Consequences certainly, but lack of forgiveness?
well imo those would be different, as they are saying that they are christs, or i guess maybe even Christ, and i would run from those myself okAlso deceivers, Matthew 24:5.
sorry, i am not reading where A&E put their trust in anything in that v, maybe close by?Adam and Eve put their trust in the promise of Messiah in Genesis 3:15.
The forgiveness on God's part cleans us up but...Who told you that you were naked?
i dont see any "repentance" in the passage at all? so i dunno
imo "forgiveness" does not save anyone
The forgiveness on God's part cleans us up but...
"When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation." Matt 12:43-45
He was forgiven so God cleaned out all the dirt, but he was not saved, not finally. He asked for forgiveness and it was granted but he never really repented, which means he did not change his ways, the ways, which if they were not sin themselves, when followed always led him to sin again. That was when he picked up the seven more wicked spirits when he followed those old ways, the old ways of the old man who was just waiting for another chance to have dominion in that house.
The promise was given for them to put their trust in; and the word of the Lord doesn't return void.sorry, i am not reading where A&E put their trust in anything in that v, maybe close by?
