My pastor's point was that he was 'checked by the Spirit', not to go in there. To enter in anyway would have been to tempt God. Consider the natural children of Israel who decided to go ahead and enter Canaanland after God had told them through Moses, not to do it.
"pastor's point" could have been right and true and valid, if it was not for the purpose of 'appearances' ....

If he was , as posted, righteous and walking with Jesus,
then whoever knew him would know that he was righteous and walking with Jesus no matter where Jesus led him.
Even going in to a bar,
even associating right out in the open with women! (AND TALKING with them!!) ...

"Kiss the Son, lest he be angry...
This needs to be interpreted in the light of Gospel truth. To "kiss the Son" is to embrace the Lord Jesus Christ wholeheartedly, to believe on Him, to receive Him by faith, to partake of Him as the Bread of Life, and to totally surrender to Christ.

"Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him".

man and good luck w that
that is a narrow gate
The Bible was written in a culture where kissing others was a common practice. In out culture the equivalent would be shaking hands.
Exactly. Not everything in the Bible should be taken extremely literal
ha well no offense but til i find the v greet each other with a holy handshake i guess ima suck it up and do the kiss thing arg

I am not doing hypotheticals. He heard from God and was told Not to go in... None of us are above obeying God!

well he heard something, ok. But to label that Yah is i think a bit presumptious?

i mean a hearty handshake might convey most of the intent tho, sure...but then i would have to question what we might have lost if that is the default
and i am not ezackly a literal reader lol, pretty much the opposite

"Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you." Rom 16:16

"All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss." I Cor 16:20

"Greet one another with an holy kiss." II Cor 13:12

"Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss." I Thess 5:26

"Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen." I Peter 5:14

Many years ago I had an online friend who sincerely believed that brothers and sister in the Lord should be physically kissing each other in greetings. He had his own website in those days, which I visited a time or two to boost him a little bit, as he never had many visitors. How do people who are such strict Bible believers get past the kisses in places like the USA? Both Paul and Peter seems to be in support of it...

Was not Jesus rebuking this man for not giving him a kiss?

"Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet." Luke 7:45

Well I'd do it. Hell, I even kiss my dogs. My wife always says, "Are you two having a moment?"

(No tongues, though. Way too forward).

Same sex kissing in 2020 is a no-no, even with a mask on.

How times have changed....

You said he said he heard from God - that makes it twice hearsay - untested and unproven so far...
and possibly contrary to God's Word directly,
. thus to be tested/ proven (in any case, either way) before being accepted...

I have to thank God for my signature line.
I just would never have dreamed that 'the other side of the pond' felt as is apparent from the posts.
I might make one heck of an ass of myself if I were to cross 'the pond'.

I do miss my dogs. When we moved from our home to an apartment a few years ago, the dogs went to a dear sister in another state who loves and cares for her severely disabled husband and close to a 100 animals out on their small farm. She takes better care of them than I ever could. I used to kiss those dogs as well (no tongues) . My wife was not jealous.

Give thanks to God for /in/ all things, as He Is Worthy to Be Praised Continually !

What is your "signature line" ? (perhaps it is like bible references and does not show up on a few, or some, or many screens, especially cell phones ) ....

Whoever opposes the oppressive leaders, is subject to painful persecution, you know ?

What book or verses did Biden quote or speak ?

I don't know I just know he's known for his overly physical affection as a politician in the United States. Our customs as a country are milder and don't allow a lot of physical contact between strangers. I find that refreshing as I don't like to hug strangers. Especially with the diseases that float around.

Biden did say "Joe Biden says he wished Trump would 'open up his bible' rather than brandishing it" (
)

To you untested and unproven, but hardly hearsay in God's court. You can disbelieve someone else's testimony, but I don't recommend arguing about it. I put it here as an example. Why don't you leave it alone? The ball is in God's court!

Since you brought up 'diseases', do you think the diseases are most dangerous,
or
the deceptions about them are more dangerous ?

In some groups, even during the black plague, the plague did not visit their communities/ houses, as shown throughout history of other 'diseases' also -
so
if people were not deceived, were not living wrong, they too would not be in danger of 'diseases', right? As written throughout Scripture (most important truth) ....

God's Word Says What ?
Even IF an APOSTLE, or an "angel of light", brings any message, DO NOT ACCEPT IT, until proven truth in line with the message (Scripture) already delivered once for all, according to God's Own Plan and Purpose.

So, does God's Word mean to leave it alone , or to test it BEFORE accepting it (anything, any message, from anyone).

Even the spirits are always to be tested - as the enemy spirits are far more frequent 'visiting' people , this is important, don't you think so too ?

oh, perhaps that is GOOD !? Everyone should 'open up his Bible', and read it , meditate on God's Word DAILY... right !?
