I am 'serious' - words matter - even for an honest mistake with no harm done nor meant -
do you forgive me ? (the little foxes (small un-noticeable sins) eat the sprouts in the garden and prevent good fruit.... so we keep as clean as possible moment to moment, repenting, being forgiven, daily as needed... )

I thought you were someone I knew, but he lives in uk
Well, our citizenship is in heaven, and we are sitted with Christ in the heavenlies... and we are one in Spirit -
I've traveled a bit in the past, and everywhere I went, whenever I met a true follower of Jesus, even before we talked, we were already one in Spirit, and we 'knew' that .... by the Spirit God placed within us. If anything was asked of us, of me or of them, and we had it, it was granted. The same one-ness (echad - one in Spirit, one in heart, One Lord Jesus), as in NT and all Ekklesia around the world.

Could you then please explain Matthew 5:48 and 1 John 1:8 in words that you find not to conflict.

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." I John 1:8

Just seek the answer to the question: Is perfection in the scripture always exactly equal to having no sin in the scripture? Another way to consider it is this: Are man's definitions of perfection and having no sin always precisely the same as God's? People often or usually read the Bible biased by many of their own preconceived notions and definitions of words and phrases. With this in mind consider why Jesus speaks of becoming as a little child in order to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Too many things already established in old heads often with little or no knowledge as to their origins... Often [usually?] those old heads are unwilling to really start from nothing at all. Every little child really did start from nothing but, given time, would perhaps primarily following the lead of his parents [his friends, his pastor/minister, etc.] become "twofold more the child of hell than..." the parents themselves.

I remember when I first joined a Christian Forum it was my hope and expectation to find a place where I could find fellowship and develop friendships with like-minded Christians...a place to find encouragement and support.

It didn't take long to realize that it wasn't such an easy task to accomplish....yes there were a few that I have truly enjoyed conversing with and others I have come to love as a brother or sister.

What surprised me the most was the amount of anger and abuse exchanged between members...especially in the spiritual gifts area.

I continued to go to the forum everyday and even had hopes of being a blessing to others who were seeking the same thing as myself. However, it didn't take long for me to get defensive against the scorners and haters of my posts or threads and soon I was responding to them with the same amount of anger as they were using towards me. I had to take a few breaks away from the forums to pray and seek God about this issue...He finally helped me come to the point that I can love my brothers and sisters in Christ here even if we don't believe the same things. (I still get angry and have to take mini breaks but it's better than staying involved and becoming the very thing I am opposing.)

I am kind of ranting here without any purpose other than to express openly how many feel on this forum.

This is an open forum to many denominational doctrines of faith and we must learn to accept one another's beliefs without trying to shove our own down their throats.

I came here to find my family and my church....a place where I felt I belong.....Why did you come here?

@Helen @amadeus @Nancy @Josho...

just naming a few...to get you to come in and join the convo.:)
I joined to discuss doctrinal issues with unknown but informed Bible believers.

I can fellowship locally if I wish, but to combine skilled Bible students' opinions is what forums can do best.

We need to accept nothing but what someone can convince us is the truth.

Not all "truth's" are the truth.

Use the forum to TEST your "truth". If it passes, save it, if it fails, discard it.

THe forum as a test ? That would be like using a false scale.

Stick with Scripture as the Father Himself Revealed, and in His Son our Savior Jesus.

There is no such thing as just sticking with Scripture. You don't do it, no one does it. We all bring our bias, experience, and what we learned to anything we read including Scripture. It silly to think one can just do Scripture alone and also a lie Satan loves because the idea puffs one up

@Helen, I will look for the good, known, proven , references online, or if not online elsewhere, that show clearly by God's Revelation of His Word, through Jesus, how everyone in Christ Jesus is to do just as I posted (almost or actually only quotes from Scripture)....
The false church has taught wrong for so long, few ever find out.

But Joseph, the Bible translations you quote are not always infallible and sadly do lead many astray because of those errors.

Proves my point. If we are suppose to go by the Bible alone then why the need for references. If we all went by what you posted no one would disagree and forums would be of no use

If you do not trust the Father in heaven to reveal what Jesus says He delights in His Good Pleasure to Reveal to His little children,
then what ? The other category was those 'educated ones' . The Father in heaven hides salvation from them, according to what Jesus Says, because it is His Good Pleasure so to do.

So your saying we don't? How do you know? How do you know your correct? Others can have other ideas about Scripture and it doesn't mean they are wrong and your right.

@Heart2Soul So...what do you think of your answers so far? :)
I am encouraged to know that most came to find fellowship amongst believers....so that really encourages me to know that we have something in common....even if it isn't our denominational doctrines we still have the desire to seek out others to fellowship with. And almost everyone here has a love for Jesus and for His Truth.
I have learned things here from some that I never had seen or heard before and it has built my spirit up and strengthened me in His Word.
