I think the Trump campaign would have been smart to contact the FBI as soon as rogue Russians approached them. Instead they toyed with the idea of accepting any help they could get. There might not have been any collusion, but it wasn't because the Trump campaign was refusing anything.

God has chosen Trump to be president. He wouldn't have been elected if it hadn't been God's will. But that doesn't necessarily mean that God chose him in order to save the country from destruction. Every national leader, good or bad, holds his position because of God's choice. Sometimes God will give a nation a bad leader as a means of judging that nation for its sins.

If our country is saved from destruction it won't be because of our president but because the Christians in that nation are faithful to God. We need to pray for President Trump, that God will give him the wisdom to do his job well. But we must also be busy carrying out God's command to preach the gospel to everyone. We must also make sure that we are doing good for others and living in such a way that others can see the love of God being expressed in our lives. Our faithfulness will do more for the welfare of our country that the actions of our political leaders.
