Sorry my friend , I can't agree this time.

A church north of us met. A friend of mine's cousin went to 'praise the Lord' with the others...
Two weeks later she went down with Covid along with 14 others from that church service. She was soon on a ventilator in ICU , my friend told me that this cousin just died , only 60 yrs old.

Last week 57 members here, who were part of a large church meeting 10 days before, went down with Covid. ...many are already very very sick.

It's foolish to meet together, especially like these churches who also took their masks off and sung.

GOD is where we find our strength and joy...it shouldn't make us feel deprived if we can't meet.

God is saying to us all , right now.. " Am I enough?"

That's quite sad....

But it goes to show that big gatherings are not necessary. We as Christians are the Church, not the building, even if it's just 2 or 3 believers, that's still a Church.

many will disagree. We are commanded by God not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, you can't get together online no much how you try to fool yourself. You can only assemble in person. This phony stuff they are doing is getting people ready for the great Apostasy, were many will go along with it because the governments just wants to protect people or the Church is just people and not a building. Many will fall who now say they are Christians

I don't really appreciate the title and premise of the OP, sorry. In the municipality where I live, several dozen ppl have died of the virus in one building alone. If a municipality decides with enforceable bylaws according to medical advice that measures are necessary, then Christians who in Providence live there need under Providence to find ways of continuing to encourage each other and testify which do not involve brazenly flouting the bylaws.

We follow God not man. Satan has tried to stop worship but we God's children don't fall for the lie of Satan.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes.

Therefore I do feel that if responsible folk from a municipality decide on medical advice to adopt measures to protect ppl, they deserve our cooperation and prayers, not defiance.

Oh, my, I didn’t mean to put a question mark after “this is terrible.” It is terrible that so many have died!

Oh I knew exactly what you meant; your clear thoughts were good and sympathetic, indeed. Up here there is actually a vast difference in conditions from one province to another and even between parts of one province. But it is wise and sensible for the sanitary rules, where they exist, to be followed, because they are there for a reason, and not as a conspiracy by rivals of political candidates that some Christians might happen to prefer; it does not give anyone the right just to flout those important sanitary measures.

New York? It was the Governor. In the Bible those verses that we have to obey the Government is was because the people had no choice. The Government in the United States work for the people and we tell those idiots what to do. The Governors by Constitutional Right can not ever, ever abridge the 1st Amendment no matter what. They have tried by preventing worship but allowing protest and riots, not only that but saying that the protest and riots were fine and getting Doctors to say protest and rioting were fine with no social distancing and no mask. They said booze and abortions are fine but Church they say is the most dangerous thing on earth! If people can riot, protest, get drunk, stand in line at store, murder their babies then there is no reason in Heaven or Hell that Churches can't meet.

The Government will have to kill me because that is the only way I'll stop going to Church. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!

We’ll have to agree to disagree. There’s so much misinformation about this virus. It’s hard to tell what’s really going on.

Put differently, if I flouted the rules and someone as a result of it followed my example and didn't respect the measures and got sick and even died, I would solemnly share responsibility; this is the situation that responsible church officers are in and they need to act in the fear of the Lord, which includes respecting the authorities. Blessings.

What's next? You'll be telling us the Church is not a spiritual assembly but physical bodies on pews? You think the gates of hell might win unless people take their bodies into a physical building they call a church?

You remind me of how legalistic the Pharisees were about the laws of Moses. Here's a set of rules -- obey them literally or risk going to hell. You just have a different set of rules.

I had a good friend in hospital who got prostate cancer, and went on a treatment that stopped the immune system working.
I had a cold, and decided I could not visit at that time, though I was able to visit twice previously to having a cold. I knew it would be possible I would not see him again, but the burden if he died from an infection would not leave my mind. He did die later from pneumonia. I am sad for his passing, but at least I helped keep him safe for a short time.

I fear for those who feel loving others and caring for their futures is putting their health on the line to be able to sing a few songs together, and listen to a preacher. Both these activities can be done on line. But maybe their consciences are not working, and help for others does not concern them. As a community of Gods people, love is our central theme, not killing the weak.

The adults who choose to assemble should be allowed to do so. By your reasoning drinking liquor should be prohibited.

I’m proud of the pastors who are taking a stand on this issue. If they let this continue, where will it end?

Im not!

IF they have a hearing relationship with the Lord and it would be "by faith". When we walk with the Lord He leads us in a right path.

WHEN God speak for us to do something we can do it with faith and confidence. But when it is just "our 'good idea' then we take the consequences.

Ishmael was Sarah's "good idea" but not Gods.
Issac was God's idea ...only Ishmael was the child of blessing.

I believe that the pastors who encourage people into danger will have blood on their hands.

And as for Christians who believe that they can't possibly survive without a couple of songs , a prayer, and someone to preach to them ...doesn't sound much like they belong to God's Glorious Church!!

How on earth do they think that they will survive when they ban and or take our bibles away....panic?
The day will come...

If christians can't walk daily drawing on the strength and power of the Christ within...shame on them.

I am getting tired of reading about all the things - " they are taking away from us" ..and all the freedoms they are stealing from us.
Good grief...THE KINGDOM IS WITHIN US...God's world is bigger within us ,and the spiritual realm is far greater than this pathetic little planet.
Let those who have eyes to see..see!

The children of God are WINNERS ...we are not robbed, down trodden or deprived...
We are the head , and not the tail, we are above, and not below..he the front and not the rear...We serve the King of Kings...

My two cents ...Helen

Very easy to say...
But half the christians that I have met in my 57 years of spiritual life have no idea how to HEAR directly from the Lord on a daily basis ..but only via someone else telling them what to do and not to do.

You even say above " Satan has tried to stop worship..."

Worship is not having to be together and singing together in one place...it is a state of being ...it is dwelling in the Secret Place of the Most High..it is our continual joy and function...

What about the verse - "In EVERYTHING give thanks , for THIS IS the will of the Lord in Christ Jesus concerning you." Giving thank continually...is His will...not bemoaning how deprived we are....

Wow, Helen you seem to have some pent-up emotions, which I can understand. So, hope you feel better getting that off your chest. And I hope you’re doing okay in general. Glad to see that you’re back (even if it’s just to blast me, lol). :)

I see that amen, @Heart2Soul ! Now my feelings are really hurt. :( :)

Not pent up emotions, but sick and tired of seeing and hearing God so called " Glorious Church" moaning about what has been 'taken away'...and feeling deprived...

I believe Our Father is shaking His head in disappointment.
It seems like the church has lost it's vision...and can only see this puny realm.

I saw a report about McArthur’s church. He didn’t hold services in defiance of the initial shut-downs. People from his congregation just started showing up because they NEEDED to be with other Christians.

I’ve read that there have been many suicides during these shut-downs. Would it not be better to risk the virus than have people feeling so desperate that they take their own lives? I can understand this because I was feeling REALLY low today, though not suicidal.

Something to think about.

Edit: BTW, I'm all for sick people not going out and spreading disease, but I've felt this way for years, not just since this pandemic started.
