but you can still choose to quench the Spirit and what then?
And quenching the Spirit means what to you? How do you define that? What Scriptures show you what that means?
Much love!

but you can still choose to quench the Spirit and what then?
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.God does cleanse us of all our past sins, but you can still choose to quench the Spirit and what then? 2 Peter 1:9
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
You appear to have a very limited view of our reconciliation to God. I believe that in Christ we are fully reconciled, and that God is not holding back from us.You believe in one of the false doctrines of the OP. "Present and future" sins are already forgiven. That is not scriptural. Only our past sins are taken away, along with the carnal nature that produces sin, and are given a new nature that walks in the Spirit. The problem is, not everyone has experienced the new birth and can relate.
So we circle back around . . . why you discussing such spiritual matters with an unspiritual unregenerate like me?You believe in one of the false doctrines of the OP. That's right. It Jesus or nothing. You can't bring another sheep as if Jesus' blood is no better than an animal's blood. If we sin willfully against Him after coming to the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins (Hebrews 10:26-31).

Just how holy do you think you need to be to know God, to be joined to Him? I think, completely!

2 Peter 2:20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

Context.
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled,
This is who Peter is speaking of, those who walk after the flesh, that is, those who have not been reborn.

The context (Hebrews 10:12) indicates that the sacrifice being referred to is the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross.
If you die in that state of going back to your own vomit, you will remain in that state in hell.
Well yes!!
But it's not talking about the child of God.
Much love!
Knowledge.Yes, it is.
20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.
They were justified (escaped) and been given a new nature.
