We have technologies here in Australia the objects of which though flying are generally not identified till after landing rather badly. Of course there's an immediate investigation and identity is rapidly determined and deemed no longer to be unidentified. The last one I read about consisted of apple pie. They could not however locate any foreigners in the mangled mess.
I saw this meme in a MUFON group on Facebook and I thought I'd share. I googled the book to find out more about it and it's true.

You don't have to be an alien truther to be curious about recent UAP events.
The U.S. Navy recently admitted that, indeed, strangely behaving objects caught on video by jet pilots over the years are genuine head-scratchers. There are eyewitness accounts not only from pilots but from radar operators and technicians, too.
In August, the Navy established an Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Task Force to investigate the nature and origin of these odd sightings and determine if they could potentially pose a threat to U.S. national security.
The recently observed UAPs purportedly have accelerations that range from almost 100 Gs to thousands of Gs — far higher than a human pilot could survive. There's no air disturbance visible. They don't produce sonic booms. These and other oddities have captured the attention of "I told you so, they're here" UFO believers. But there's also a rising call for this phenomenon to be studied scientifically — even using satellites to be on the lookout for possible future UAP events.

I hope it's not an invasion on the thread if you don't mind the term to go off-topic for a bit. If you have yet to see this stunning timelapse film from Nasa's ISS, it's well worth to gaze at what they've filmed over our planet. This will feature the Aurora Borealis, a lunar rising over the hemisphere, a glimpse of the sun, and metropolitan lights flickering over the globe as it passes each region. The Borealis is particularly beautiful.

It would seem that the exploration of space and the possibility of extraterrestrial life is contingent upon whether or not faster than light space travel has been achieved. According to many scientists, it would appear that theoretical physics seems to hint to the possibility of that. See the following video.
The problem that human civilization would have is 1) how to build the warp drive for the spacecraft, solving along the way the technology for artificial gravity; and, 2) having the necessary power source to power the drive as well as the necessary life support systems that would be needed to make the spacecraft habitable.
The thread is very interesting. As a creative writer, I've written science fiction/fantasy short stories. In the writing of these stories, one has to consider the science, where-ever it is available, to buttress the narrative of these stories.
Considering the video, the narrator makes one error. In Star Wars, the Millenium Falcon is using a hyperspace drive which is based upon other theoretical physics. Warp drive and hyperspace drive are different.

Water on the Moon could sustain a lunar base

This "unambiguous detection of molecular water" will boost Nasa's hopes of establishing a lunar base.
The aim is to sustain that base by tapping into the Moon's natural resources.
The findings have been published as two papers in the journal Nature Astronomy.
Unlike previous detections of water in permanently shadowed parts of lunar craters, scientists have now detected the molecule in sunlit regions of the Moon's surface.
Speaking during a virtual teleconference, co-author Casey Honniball, postdoctoral fellow at Nasa's Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, said: "The amount of water is roughly equivalent to a 12-ounce bottle of water in a cubic metre of lunar soil."
Her Nasa colleague Jacob Bleacher, from the agency's human exploration directorate, said researchers still needed to understand the nature of the watery deposits. This would help them determine how accessible they would be for future lunar explorers to use.
And while there have previously been signs of water on the lunar surface, these new discoveries suggest it is more abundant than previously thought. "It gives us more options for potential water sources on the Moon," said Hannah Sargeant, a planetary scientist from the Open University in Milton Keynes, told BBC News.
"Where to put a Moon base is largely focused on where the water is."
The US space agency has said it will send the first woman and next man to the lunar surface in 2024 to prepare for the "next giant leap" - human exploration of Mars as early as the 2030s.
Dr Sargeant explained that this meant developing "a more sustainable way of doing space exploration".
"Part of that is using these local resources - especially water," she told BBC News.
