I daresay we can acknowledge the specialness and sacredness of scripture without having to elevate scribes & translators up to the level as if they were infallible deity themselves.
The whole Bible is the Word of God in that contained in its pages is everything that God wants mankind to know about Himself, His ways, and His instructions to us that leads to our salvation.

Some people define the Word of God as God's direct instructions to us, so they take a verse out of the Old Testament and require people to obey it as if God has spoken the instruction directly for all to follow. But when they read God's "telephone directories" containing the genealogies, they maintain that these are not God's Word but just Jewish historical information. But these are just as much God's Word for us, in that they contain information that we need to know to understand the path by which the national of Israel came into being.

The instructions for constructing the tabernacle are God's Word for us to show how and why the different parts of the tabernacle were put in place. The duties of the priests and Levites were very precise and exacting and were to be followed without deviation. These are there to show us that true worship of God is very precise and exacting and that deviation becomes false worship and the offering of false fire, especially by those who did not fit the exacting qualifications for priesthood.

The Bible shows the various aspects of God's Word to us - education, knowledge, encouragement, comfort, assurance, examples of error, the difference between righteous and unrighteous conduct, the development of God's plan of salvation and why the plan was needed in the first place, the birth of development of the Church, and then, through the Apostles' letters, instructions for us to follow to maintain our walk in the Spirit.

If we want to know the will of God, read the Bible, because it is all there for us to know. If we want to do the will of God, do the Biblical instructions that are written there to us.

2 When they heard him speak to them in Aramaic, they became very quiet.

It was in Hebrew that Paul spoke to them.

G1446 hebrais.

Strong’s Definitions G1443; the Hebraistic (Hebrew) or Jewish (Chaldee) language:—Hebrew.

Ἑβραΐς [WH Ἐβρ., see their Introductory § 408], -ίδος, ἡ, Hebrew, the Hebrew language; not that however in which the O. T. was written, but the Chaldee (not Syro-Chaldaic, as it is commonly but incorrectly called; cf. A. Th. Hoffmann, Grammat. Syriac., p. 14), which at the time of Jesus and the apostles had long superseded it in Palestine: Acts 21:40; Acts 22:2; Acts 26:14; Ἑβραΐς φωνή, 4 Macc. 12:7; 16:15. [Cf. B. D., under the phrase, Shemitic Languages etc.; ibid. American edition, under the phrase, Language of the New Testament, Kautzsch p. 17f.; Neubauer in Studia Biblica (Oxford, 1885) pp. 39-74.]

Are you asking a question here?

Or making a snide statement?

Do you have an objection to something said?

Are you cessationist?

Is this just to impugn me, like I just "pick and choose what to believe"? "Reject as truth"? An accusation of "intellectual dishonesty"?

Dead in Sin !

Have you considered why you feel this sort of thing to be so important, and that each of us will give account for themself?

Much love!

I find that it was only after that @Christophany promised to go easy on me that he then proceeded to attack me for what I believed in.

So a person with the gift of teaching needs nothing outside of the bible itself, not mentoring or anything else correct ?

Just God alone right ?

And does God give this gift right out of the gate at conversion ?

Most definitely (John 16:13, 1 John 2:20).

I would ask you, @Christophany, how you answer the contention of the Jehovah's Witnesses who say that 1 Corinthians 8:6 means that Jesus isn't God?
While you have addressed @Christophany, the answer is rather simple. No doctrine is made up from just one verse. So this verse must be properly interpreted in the light of the entire Word of God. Which tells us that Jesus is indeed GOD manifest in the flesh. And since the JW's have deliberately corrupted John 1:1, even that one single verse totally refutes their false teaching.

I was looking in 1 Samuel 2 to see if I could find the false fire of Eli's two sons, but couldn't find it. Do you have a text I could look at?

'The words of the LORD are pure words:
as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Thou shalt keep them, O LORD,
Thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.'

(Psalm 12:6)

Hello @Christophany,

There are those who differentiate between the word of the Lord Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry and those of His Apostles written in the epistles. Yet an Apostle is one who is sent: Jesus Christ Himself being the chief of all Apostles (Hebrews 3:1) Who professed to only speak the words of His Heavenly Father and not His own (John 14:10). So it is with those who were chosen, by the will of God, to speak in His Name. Those who bear the appointment of an Apostle were sent to do His will, and to speak on behalf of the risen Christ. That is the authority by which they ministered. Yet Paul particularly, had to constantly defend the authority of his apostleship, and recent entries in this forum are witness to the fact that, sadly, that defence is still needed today.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

I have stopped engaging the poster as NOTHING is ever satisfactory and always insists on having the last word, comment etc......

It is not edifying in any way, shape or form and a teacher is also a good student and is always learning.

So I have moved on and wish the person the best and no hard feelings.

There are many whom I have learned things from and seeing things from their perspective and insight even though we might disagree on some things. So just because there are disagreements on the non essentials/salvific issues doesn't mean we cannot learn from each other as iron sharpens iron.

hope this helps !!!

its not uncommon for some in the interest of the site's need for poster traffic to keep people responding, so you get stuff that is intended to get you going. (usually the ones with a half a million posting) also there are those who seek to experiment with the phycology of those who are "religious" and they will say anything to observe the result. (usually the ones seeking opinions of others) and then there are those who get their jollies aggravating Christians for their own personal reasons. and that's only a few scenarios.

hay just stay the course, worry for the fruit that is given to live on, worry not for the unliving. in many cases there are those who read in need, but don't post.

watch John MacArthur on strange fire :)

I have the book. That book, itself, is strange fire full of demons on every page. So much hate and lies, I had to stop reading it, and take a bath. I know of one woman that goes to his church who owns a Satanic Bible.

Yes, all SCRIPTURE is unless the author says it is not scripture or inspired by God. Yes, Peter verified that Paul is indeed an apostle and his epistles are scripture. That was a general statement. Paul was specific in what is and what is not.

1cor7:12.....” but to the rest....”I” say, NOT the Lord....”

1cor7:25......” concerning Virgins, I have no command of the Lord, but I give an opinion.....”

2cor 11:17.....” that which I am speaking, I am not speaking as the Lord would, but as in foolishness....”

You’re Welcome.....lol....
